You always treat the subjects of you vlogs with dignity and respect. Very well done!
It's sad that something awful has to happen to somebody for society to wake up & take action. But then again that's how we learn about things & how to properly deal with the situation just like Dorothy did. Thank you for sharing this video with us. : )
Heartbreaking what happened to him and what a devoted wife she was. Thank you for sharing this story. And I'm glad, we will still get to see little Jah even with you out of the country- he's a cutie 🐾
I always learn something new from you!
Al D mt
You take me everywhere I could not go myself. Feels like I'm there myself . thank you 🤧😘😍😘😍😘😍🤗
It is a crying shame we've lost so many of Hollywood's great talents at a young age due to drugs and alcohol. Poor Wallace - it wasn't like he was a party boy and shot himself up for a thrill. He was in pain and got addicted by accident. I'm glad his wife stood by him. Thank you, Jordan, for all the wonderful videos you post -- Diane.
Read two Wallace Reid bio's, both so fascinating. My prize possessions include 2 early 1910's Wallace magazines and some lobby cards.
Amazing that she advocated for this as early (for us) as the late '70's! Back then, I don't recall a thing about viewing addiction as a disease. She was quite ahead of her time.
Jah is the best dog ever! And YOU, Jordan, have a great sense of humor! Love your vlogs, and love of old Hollywood
This really touches a nerve with me....the addiction being a disease. It truly, truly is a disease and it is so important that it be treated properly. So many people will dismiss addiction as being a simple choice and that is such a harmful attitude to have. So thank you for also including that part in this vlog because hopefully someone doubting addiction as a disease may decide to look further and realize it really is a disease...a cunning and baffling disease.
You are so absolutely right about everything you said in your post. Sadly and unfortunately, people look at addicts as dirty, low-down, disgusting, losers who deserve to live on the street and be treated like trash. I hope, one day, people will get educated about addiction and that will all change. 🙏🙏🙏
Jordan! This post is from 5 years ago, and I can’t believe I’m just seeing it! This story is really sad, and you really captured it so well! Love you every day and be well and safe always!🐈
Such a sad story!! Wow!
Another cute Jahster moment❣️ This Wallace Reid video was so well done & poignant for our times, Jordan. Many thank yous for bringing up the serious awareness of drug addiction. ❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺🌴
My Daddy was born in 1910 and he had such a nice signature and handwriting. Seeing Wallace Reid's signature reminded me of that. They don't stress much today about having nice penmanship in school. I wish you would do a video on PaulDeLongpre. When you said DeLongpre Street that reminded me of him. I was fascinated about him when I bought a book about him. He was a famous painter that lived in Hollywood and had the most beautiful house and gardens. Sadly they tore the house down.
I love taking daily historical journeys with you! This has always been my area of interest and collecting! I have Wallace Reid’s autograph as well! Keep up the great adventures!
He was such a good actor. I am so proud that his wife stood beside him and brought attention to his struggle.
Love the fascinating history you share with us! Thanks again for your time and efforts to show us what we never would have known without your great vlogs!
What a devoted wife. Bless her heart. Thanks for this vlog, Jordan. I had never heard of him before.
I enjoy learning about the silent stars. I did not know Wallace briefly attended seminary.
I especially love your posts on the silent stars! They never get enough attention
I love all your videos!!!! Thank you for doing your research and sparing your time in doing so.. much appreciated 👌🏼
Thankyou for posting this - very interesting
His child is dead in 90s, but his daughter is still alive, 101 years old !
Wow,I never knew he had kids. The dog is cute!
Hey Jordan..its 1/1/24 today & I'm still going back 6 plus yrs to watch some of ur old vlogs that I consider my favorites & this is definitely one of those.take care & be careful.
I love your vlogs I find them so interesting thank you for sharing 😀
Jordan, I found you through ATW...your vlogs are so fun...I live in Seattle and due to kidney failure and being g on dialysis I am unable to travel as I use to...it's so nice having the option to see things vicariously through a few really genuine vlogers...
sadly lately, I have found myself defending ATW against so many trolls, it's sad that people trying to do positive, uplifting things have to face so much negativity...
thank you for offering us the opportunity to come along on your journeys...for so done like me, it means the world!
lots of love and hugs from. Seattle 💕
Oh sweet spirit ... thank you for this video ... blessed my heart ... love endures. Smiles, Stella
Great video loved it!
Sad story.

Thank you for this you do an amazing job with all of this and I can tell that you really research your subjects and care thank you I hope you’re still doing this
Well done Thank You 🙏
Very interesting vlog Jordan , I think this was such a respectfully done tribute to this young actor who like many suffer a work accident & are pushed to the side when they become useless in their company. I was injured myself from a work mishap ,boy do I understand you sir. RIP Mr. WilliamWallace Reid sorry for you untimely ending. Maybe partly because of you I was lucky to opt for non addictive pain solutions .
I thoroughly enjoy your vlogs. You have a nice knowledgeable & pleasant delivery.
GR8 video! I have a friend who loves Wallace & Dorothy. Poor Wallace. It's GR8, Jordan, that you don't let these legendary actors be forgotten!
Very respectfully done Jordan. My family has been plagued with addiction. It's hard to make some people understand that it is a disease. Thank you for this vlog...🖤
This was awesome 👍
I used to read a lot about old movies, so I had read about Wallace Reid's addiction. I love your vlogs about old school Hollywood.
love the channel jordan the lion long time viewer love it keep it up. and be safe.

Awesome job Jordan! Keep up the great work! Love seeing Jah! Such a cute dog!
Beautiful and tragic story. Love the music at the 6 mins.-ish clip, great deals for you, kind Sir and as always love a Lebowski location!! Thank you kindly and have your best day yet, my friend! :-D
I love the Wallace Reid autograph and what you did with it.
I am VERY happy with my S8. Great video and pics.
Wow, I thought I knew some interesting stuff but buddy, you got me beat by a mile. You're always so interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing Wallace Reid's story.
Thank you for doing this video on Wallace Reid. You are correct there are probably lots of people don't know his story which was extremely sad. He was also thought to be the most handsome man in Hollywood at the time.
Amazing, lovely autographed photo to have. Excellent!!!!
Glad I found this! Great that you have one of his autographs! I have one of Lon Chaney(1883-1930) but I hope to get a WR and visit his urn! ❤
Thanks for sharing this tragic story of a great actor! By the way, it was Fredric March that starred in, A Star is Born.
Wow, what a sad story indeed. Loved to hear the background.
Great vid Jordan and Jaws. Australia 💕
that is a sad story and as someone with a long term neck problem i'm glad you have found a good pillow ,my only living brother and I bought on sale one of the My Pillows and I LOVE IT
Thank you Mrs. Wallace Reid for being a true and loyal wife to your beloved husband all those years. I love a real & great love story! 💖
Wallace Reid's life was ruinedmuch like Judy Garland. Mrs. Reid really loved him. Another interesting subject.
I love your videos!
Jordan your videos are really inspiring. I feel as thought I'm there in L.A. This piece on Wallace was heartbreaking. It kind of reminded me of silent film star Ramon Navarro who also started out on top but whose life also ended tragically. Is there a chance you might do a video on this great actor? Again thank you for all the hard work and time in making your videos and sharing them with your fans. I'm praying for you. GOD bless.
Jordan your the top drawer silent movie historian of LA.
Gooood morning Jordan and Jah! awesome vlog Jordan. I am adding Wallace to my list of must reads..you will love the new S8 phone takes great pics and videos... just an fyi, make sure to check the expiration dates on stuff at 99 cent store. Some of that stuff is expired.. Hope you and Jah have a great day. looking forward to Brecks videos while you are gone. Take care ..
🦁❤forever....
Great vlog! Never knew that about him. I will miss Jah!
Great signature ⭐️
Bravo beautiful !!! I see these vids as pieces of Art & you can't question a painting. Folks need to remember that. Much love & sorry about being out of context to subject at hand. xx
Thank you bc I'd never see these locations.
i love wallace reid. his picture is in my living room. very good jordan!!!!!!
Just fascinating. I do remember that he was an actor and his wife I actually remember better. What a sad and moving story. I love silent films. Thank you for all these great stories, you do a tremendous job!
He was a beautiful person, shame on the studio system for destroying his life that way.
Ive forgotten just how divine the blue skies of Sothern CA are !!! Thanks for sharing . Reed suffered the same fate as Judy Garland .
Great video. I just learned about Wallace Reid while doing some research and what a tragic ending he had :( I saw in a video that Gloria Swanson was afraid to ride in the car with him when he was high on morphine. I can't say I blame her!
Cool autograph, and you did a great job with the picture and frame. :)
I will check Wallace Reid's movie out. I had heard of Davenport but did not know about Reid. Good vlog. Love your top-hat .
Sadly the anti drug movie she made is lost, similar to many silent films.
Thanx 😎😎😎😎
He was injured in a train accident while filming Valley of the Giants.
No Workers Compensation insurance back then.
Great news on your phone ! This is an awesome story but very sad to hear. Thank you for sharing this information. I was totally unaware of this actor or his pathetic end of life.
The movie industry can be a very destructive place if one is not careful. Too many tragic stories we would never know about unless someone is caring enough to do so like Jordan & Wallace Reid’s wife. ❤️🙏🏻
Loved this incredible and tragic love story!!!
Love your dog !!
Lovely video. Thanks Jordan.
Wallace Reid was a really a good looking man and a nice actor. Such a sad end and a real shame that at the nobody at the studio intervened. They were responsible for getting him addicted and finished him off.
They did terrible things to Judy Garland getting addicted to drugs and over working her and then threw her away every time she had a nervous breakdown.
It's a cruel world.
Studio doctors worked for the studio, not for their patient. A lot of Stars got their addictions started courtesy of the studios
WOW! Thanks for the HOLLYWOOD EDUCATION!
I love the green sunglasses Jordan i hope you and jah are well take care Ana María From San Juan Puerto Rico.
Very well done*
N
Good video :)
I'm addicted to ur vlog's lol
Such a sad story !!
Jah is so Precious 💙 I love him💙
Good Morning Jordan....very interesting vlog today...but very, very sad! It was good seeing Jah again...such a sweetie he is! Our wee great-grandbaby now puts her finger on the monitor screen and says "Cat in Hat" when she sees you in your top hat! LOL If I can be so bold...please turn your black & white bag hanging behind your head shots so we can't read the lettering....teaching youngsters to read! Love your work...have a grand day!
So interesting... so tragic... what a loving devoted wife. You are such a wonderful story teller. Sweet Jah... he's so shiny and sweet... he's gonna miss you while your away... so happy we will get to see how he is getting along. Trying to watch you be serious and seeing your Get shit done bag...in the background lol... you make me smile😊
Good vlog
Another great vlog Jordan, keep up the great work!
Sweet score on the phone
A really nice thing to watch. On a VIZIO smart HDTV.
love and devotion. dont make em like that anymore. Great vlog. thank you!
I love your dog, what a face!💜
He's the best!
I've been using an S8 for the past two weeks. It's a good phone, but be sure to install a glass screen protector and a case. You can record video in 1080p60 and in 4K. Even though it is "water resistant" (not water proof) I'd recommend not intentionally placing it in water, as some people have said the USB C charging port may not work afterwards.
Thank you. Another tragic Hollywood Story.
Have you heard of a cinematographer called William Stuart Thompson he worked for Hal Roach?
It is 2020, I have been a lion heart for about 2 years, and I have never seen the story of Wallace Reid. As usual, I am blown away from Jordan's knowledge and research.
I remember hearing about Wallace Reid as my family has always been involved in Hollywood since the silent era, some involved shamefully so. I didn't know how bad he suffered as his story would make the studio's seem callus and not interested in investing in the human side of their of their talent. I always heard that for decades and some studio heads today would stop at nothing to squeeze every dime including using their talent's physical and emotional energy regardless of hurting their commodities for their financial gain as Hollywood was a big business and less of an Art.
What is interesting is Wallace really did not have an addiction he had a dependency because he was prescribed morphine from his physicians that's the studio heads used with little regard to the talent's help history. Wow, how stigma was a big part of shaming their abused talent that needed to be hidden from the general public and still persists today.
Learning about Wallace Reid's story: addiction to morphine that was not his fault really touched me. Kudos to Dorothy Davenport who tried in her own way to get efficient help for her beloved and Dorothy was trying to destigmatize what happened to Wallace Reid.
Thank you for a vlog I never saw before but is a part of my history too. I am ashamed of the cruelty Hollywood bestowed onto their incredible talents to make another buck.
Some things never change.
Hey Jordan, have you done the follow up to this yet and I'm missing it? I'm interested in seeing you talk about his property where the Standard is now. Fascinating!
It's so sad about Wallace Reid. Why does it seem as if some of the most talented People have the most tragic outcomes💙
HELLOOO JORDAN!!!!
love the video. i have the samsung 8 plus and love it.
You should read the book Hollywood Babylon. He was not the only drug-addicted actor by far...
+Monica Dillard Hollywood Babylon in widely accepted as salacious bs
It's full of fake stories. Not that there weren't other actors that had drug addictions. But that's a very uncredible book.
Tragic about what happened to Wallace Reid. Loved the original 1937 version of "A Star is Born" with Fredric March and Janet Gaynor. Sadder yet is The Dude's demolished Hollywood Bowl being replaced with more high-density beehive apts. to add to the already cumbersome traffic.
That was really interesting! It's a shame that his life had to come to an end like that
A lot of people don't know that most addicts started because of the over use of prescribing strong narcotics for pain.pain killers were not meant to be a life long treatment.leading some to become addicted. Because they were prescribed by a legitimate Dr. They felt it was ok. Dr shopping became a problem. You should prescribe in small doses for no more than 10 days. Today's opioids and other pain killers is not as strong as it used to be. Unless you have a medical situation that is lifelong, or you have a terminal condition.laws have changed. The amount and dosage have changed.most are referred to pain clinic. Laws change in 2016. Drs have to limit the number of people they treat. Substitute certain meds or risk losing their license. So no many take street drugs that are dangerous. Something to think about. I'm glad of the law changes. Yet it seems some slip through the system because they can pay for certain drugs. Sad this happened to this man, accepted no responsibility for his addiction. You can't cut somebody off cold turkey without consequences. Today this should not happen.im against prescribing strong drugs that are addicted to young people. And people who don't need them.know the alternative. Drs have had to change not only what they prescribe but the amount and the dosage. I know about surgery.but normal pain Don last more than a week. If it does then something else is going on. This has been going on for a long time. Getting addicted is easy for some. Treatment can be very expensive.counseling, and other therapy should be advised. Some that can pay for opioids and other drugs can slip through the system. The fact many have been caught, is good. This should not be happening today. Even those with certain conditions and illnesses, have to abide by the laws and new changes that's suppose to change laws. Should be under a Drs care.blood work is done every 3 months. If the med is not present. Your Dr has the right to no longer give you that drug. Fact he don't want to loose his license.if one choose to buy street drugs. Please know the danger. It might not be what you think. So be aware of the new laws. What your Dr can and cannot do. Take care, God Bless. Love, respect and positivity always. Vee J. ✌️🖖💓✨🙂👋.
I love your dog 🐶
