    Tyler does one thing that is the hardest part for any superman actor to pull off. Being Clark Kent. You don’t only see the man struggling with real human emotions. You see a deeper depth of somebody who knows what he’s capable of still having to show emotional, maturity and vulnerability

  • @StareachValcin
    @StareachValcin Před rokem +844

    These scenes definitely show Clark's humanity as he's talking to these patients of chemotherapy. Clark cares about their experiences with cancer while also worried about his own wife's fight with cancer. Sad thing is that Clark doesn't have to worry about getting cancer, which only makes him that much unaware of how hard it is for a normal person to fight against cancer and thus increases the worry for what can happen to Lois. Superman is capable of many things, but curing cancer is currently not one of them, with his powers or Kryptonian technology.

    • @pantherzone2008
      @pantherzone2008 Před rokem

      No. Superman’s other weakness is cancer. If he has cancer, he's done because it will weaken him slowly. Bizzaro was already weak against the yellow solar sun on Superman’s Earth and it is more like cancer on Bizzaro. It sucks, but that's what Superman and Bizzaro are afraid of cancer.

    • @DesignIncase
      @DesignIncase Před rokem +12

      Clark does need to worry about any Kryptonian diseases. Heck he has to worry about potential side effects of how he gains his powers.
      In the comics he's absorbed too much solar radiation and his cells lost equilibrium and turn him into a hulk or in the case of All Star, his cells started dying.
      If Kryptonians can get cancer, his body may not not be able to correct it. His own powers might even make it more difficult to fight.

    A few days ago, I read somewhere that to write this scene, they sat down with and talked to cancer survivors and those fighting it right now. They wanted to accurately convey it so they just let the people talk.
    That's why this scene is so raw and real... because it WAS.

    I really love the scene of the two ladies asking Clark how he was doing its such a sweet moment obviously Lois is dealing with the worst of this situation, but Clark is still hurting alot ,watching his wife getting sick, and going through chemo. I'm glad they are exploring Clark's feeling about this, it must be strange to be both the strongest thing in the entire world, but also completely powerless to help the one of people you care about the most.

    Wow, that "pull" discussion is so validating! When I was battling cancer I researched a lot of people's experiences and it seemed like everyone of them had a drive to survive and a fairly positive attitude. Meanwhile, every day of chemo, even on my good days, maybe especially on my good days, I wanted to quit. I was ready to give up on life and it seemed like I was the only one who felt that way, which was also discouraging. So I'm glad to finally hear someone address that very real battle. I didn't have the internal drive but prayer, family, and good friends helped me to keep going.

    I just love how emotional Clark got when asked how he is coping with it.
    Because when you look at him as Clark Kent you see the caring and down-to-earth Father and Husband who always has the backs of everyone he loves without ever asking for anything in return, then you look at him as Superman and he's this invincible god covered by invulnerable flesh being a man who not only has the eyes of the world always on him but the favour of countless cosmic beings who praise him for his work.
    Then seeing him here you see a new side to him that of a man who is pushing himself to be strong for his best friend and significant other despite the fact that right now more than ever he wants someone to look after him, who saves the hero when they need help.
    I'm gonna be honest I'm happy I gave this show a chance because they have handled the characters of both Superman and Clark Kent incredibly well.

    Got to love the story for Superman. A third or fourth way to hurt him is his family.
    Meteorite, magic, other aliens, family.
    Season 1 had to deal w his sons finding out they were lied to. Season 3 is battling cancer.

    A lot of my family have died to cancer, on both sides of my grandparents. I watched them get sick, go through all the emotions you get when you get the news that the disease will kill you eventually, and I watched them all, one by one, give up. My Nana swore after her first bout that she beat, she would never go through chemo again. She would rather die. I was 12 then, at 16, it came back. I buried her at 17. I watched her waste away. It's horrific. And the worst part? When people get that sick? They get NASTY. Completely horrible. My Nana was begging us to kill her, to let her die by the end. But euthanasia is illegal in my country. Which is why I am an beliver in it. Especially for those with terminal illnesses. Better they die quick and on their own terms, than suffer months and years in agony until it turns them into something they never were. Turn them cruel from the constant pain of living. My Nana was my best friend. By the end, she screamed vile insults and hatred at me.
    So yeah, cancer for the sick is positively horrible. But most people forget those who stand by and care for them, that suffer the abuse because they know their loved ones are sick and don't actually mean it. The one who bury them and feel RELIEF that they're gone, because they're not HURTING anymore.
    I was a teenager. But I understood die and suicide better than anyone else my age.

But looking at this video seeing superman, who is considered close to god coz of his mind blowing powers being powerless & sad & human looking at what cancer can do I just feel soooo sad for him. Having cancer plot in this series for Lois I never thought this would happen & am sad tht I can’t see season 3 here in India. I hope either Prime or Netflix or Disney + brings this series so the fans here in India can watch

    Got to be difficult for a man who does his best to save everyone, but can't do anything about people that so desperately need help right in front of him.
    My fav scene in the Superman comics, and I can't even remember where its from, is him pulling someone from the water onto a bridge and then flying off to rescue someone else in some other place because his super hearing picked up on calls of distress.
    Lois is on the bridge and she says:
    "You can't save everyone"
    Superman resolutely flies off, doesn't look back but says:
    "I have to try"

    Because he didn't go to the hospital the last time until he made sure I went to my last exam. because he knew I would go with him and put my future on the line. My graduation day was the last day i saw him, I finished the exam ran immediately to the hospital and stayed the whole day with him. i hugged him and told him Stay strong and I will see you tomorrow. But it was the last hug.

    Actually, it was revealed that Superman & Lois is 'not' part of the Arrowverse, which is why no one saw the Flash or the 'Legends' come to help out during the last major storyline that literally involved the entire planet.
    Other than that, this was a very moving episode. It's not easy to find out that someone close to you has cancer, and even more heartbreaking when they lose that fight. I had a fiend who died from cancer, and it was so sudden, that it nearly destroyed me. I fell in love with Jenna at the wrong time, and never had a chance to tell her that. For those who suffer from cancer, I will not offer you prayers, but instead, give what I can financially towards the fight against 'all' cancer and the hope of a cure.

    This series has been pretty great aside from some minor issues but when Clark said they don't have Kryptonian technology that can help Lois, I rolled my eyes. They have advanced technology that can literally revive people from death and can actually cure cancer in the comics.
    I would have liked some sort of explaination like how Kryptonians don't have a disease like cancer and anything that might help has never been tested on anyone and would be far to dangerous. Anything would have been better than, 'nah can't help'.
