Muscling a 630 pound motorcycle around Daytona a the same speeds of the back markers of the 600cc class is nothing short of amazing.

I think the DCT is for people who have been riding for years in heavy traffic and are just tired of dealing with a clutch in those situations. I had nothing but motorcycles for my sole transportation from 2009-2020 and at one point was commuting 155 miles per day and it doesn't take long in stop and go traffic to have you wishing that your clutch hand could get a break.
This is what we like to see, street bike duking it out !!!

How do I sign up to do this? In 34 male, rode dirtbikes my whole life.....got a new yz450f in 04 at age 15 and 110lbs wet. Been riding cruisers my while adult life. I know i could be competitive in less then a year of training/practice.

HD just needs to put that PR spin on it. That’s why you should buy the 135 Crate Engines. The 131’s blow up.

It's to great to see all of the "bagger" crowd supporting the manufacturers racing programs. Maybe they need some over weight, ex-strippers in body paint as umbrella girls? You know the Main street aura?

The King of the Baggers class really adds a circus element to the whole Daytona race scene, but I have to admit that the racing was very impressive with lap times only about 2 seconds slower than the Daytona 200 racers and comparable top speeds of 180 MPH. Additionally, the racers themselves are top-level guys. It was fun to watch; I only wish there were more manufacturers represented and perhaps in the future there will be. Surely BMW can field a top team. Whether mini-bikes or Moto GP, a good race is a good race and that was a good race.
So - motorcycle racing is amazing and love the fearless nature of the riders, however - I want too see the racing be done with Stock motorcycles, with floor boards not mid pegs and raised pipes. Take the actual bike off of the showroom floor, you can do upto a Stage 3 and race the beasties.
as the camera pans about.. i see MILLIONS of eager fans.. just excited to be there.. lopas gravity-bouncers are pretty good tho. no ques there..
This is Daytona, only NASCAR can fill the stands.

I would love to know what frame the Harley is using. It certainly wouldn't be a standard touring frame comprising of a rubber mounted engine and a rubber mounted swing arm which is a bad combination for stability

The clowns scoffing at the accomplishments of these teams know nothing of Daytona and little about the sport. I've seen some very trick factory Superbikes do exactly the same. We don't call it " the " Big Dyno" for nothing. 180 mph Baggers is flat out amazing.
What are they going to do next? Put an old lady on the back?
They should be running that close as a 600 but nowhere close to the 1,000th not even close.
As a guy who owns Harley Touring bikes from the 60s to today, I never thought I'd see 180 MPH Baggers. On mine, they do a Rocket Rispoli when you throw them into a footboard dragger at 60 mph.
Well, if they had aftermarket components throughout there engine, possibly wouldn't have blown up.

They do. Screamin' Eagle is Harley-Davidson 's aftermarket line. Has been for 35 years.

@@aaroncox3340 What bike won both races, Professor? You think V &H doesn't use the exact same supply chains? We helped them make those contacts. I worked with H-D Engineering for years, on the VRSC and on product that the money crunchers killed, like a modular DOHC Twin in 4 different displacements that was making 150 HP without breaking a sweat, in 2008. The only problem at Harley is the addiction to the massive profits that Touring produces. You can go to them with the best business plan ever, but 50, even 75% profit, after costs, just doesn't interest them. Come back when you can show some real cashflow.

Why do most individuals replace there cam plate. / pump / lifters the list goes on.
My 21 ultra was a prime example after only 4000km, along with many other people I know.
But I still love the brand, and continue to do so.

Moto GP ,, world super bike,,any engine pushing the limits,,has expired motors ,, so looking forward to seeing the series,, from northern Ireland ☘️☘️😃,,here there maybe no racing due to insurance cover,,at all None ,, so be thankful for new series,,,

I had to laugh when he compared the lap times to the 600cc Super Sport class, what a joke a bike with an engine less than half the size, I'd bet the 1000cc class is way faster. These bikes aren't super fast end of story, doesn't make it not fun to watch them try. I would like to see more run offs though some of those corners look like they could be potential killers. I did laugh to see not one but both front running Harley's fail, as is customary.

Saw Daytona pop many a Factory Superbike over the last 45 years of watching and participating in the sport.

I mean this is all for a laugh I'm assuming. It genuinely looks like a lot of fun. But these bikes are serious amount of decades behind in technology. These engines are not made for this. It's such a joke such a huge company with all the research and development, engineering capability of a company like Harley-Davidson can't make a couple factory back race bikes to last eight laps.

Yeah it’s sorta fun / funny to watch non race bikes pretend to be race, bikes. It’s a nice gimmick, but sort of reminds me of how they used to race tractor trailer trucks and how it’s just silly in the end…. I imagine these big D motors would be great and straight quarter mile type races. Forcing these monsters to flick back-and-forth around a race circuit is just sort of dangerous( for lack of a better word)
Now …..what are the “hooligan” bikes? Are they like old school racers,naked bikes like Kawasaki z or Yamaha mt etc?
