Biggest difference is one transitioned to a stronger federal government with an emphasis on military and the other... well I don't actually know what happened to Disney's NR because their movies stink and barely even mention them, but it seems like literally their capitol and the entire system around it was destroyed, so that probably got MOST of their government. Have to imagine they had even worse succession issues than the 12 Colonies giving the presidency to the secretary of education.

The final words in this video say a lot, nothing has been learned from the history of the galaxy in these movies. The new republic failed cause it tried to be the republic again, the first order will fail cause they are trying to be the empire again. Even Kylo and his views on killing the past aren’t enough, imitating the past or destroying it won’t do, learning from it will.
on the subject of clones rising to the rank of General i get what your saying, but its completely false seeing that the rank of General was restricted for mainly jedi knights. the highest rank a clone could obtain would be Marshal Commander (at least when referring to the army)

I barely slept last night due to circumstances so i worked 10 hours with less than 2 hours of sleep but hey templin institute uploaded a new video so i guess I'll stay up for another hour.
I really like how in every video you touch on the themes that are most prominent in the source material of its subject. That is one of the things that, I believe, elevates Templin above other lore channels and into something unique.
Before I ever cheered on the UNSC, Starfleet and countless factions of MechWarriors, there was the Grand Army of the Republic, their clone soldiers and their brotherhood. For the Republic!

The final words in this video say a lot, nothing has been learned from the history of the galaxy in these movies. The new republic failed cause it tried to be the republic again, the first order will fail cause they are trying to be the empire again. Even Kylo and his views on killing the past aren’t enough, imitating the past or destroying it won’t do, learning from it will.

on the subject of clones rising to the rank of General i get what your saying, but its completely false seeing that the rank of General was restricted for mainly jedi knights. the highest rank a clone could obtain would be Marshal Commander (at least when referring to the army)
Kaminoans: "Ugh. This batch of clones is actually able to shoot 100% of targets and has thereby failed the Storm Trooper accuracy quota of 5%. What a shame. Dispose of them all."

It was reorganized following a war with the Sith order 1000 years before the events of Ep1 This was called the Ruusan Reformations and it dismantled the JEDI'S military and the Republic Military instead giving power the the Judicials and the Sector Militia's
