It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Bridges. His passing comes as a shock to all of us. The cause of death is not known at this time, but we will publish more information as it becomes available. Steve brought joy and laughter to millions and was a great inspiration to all who knew him. I can’t say I always loved W’s politics, but he clearly has a sense of humor and I appreciate that. Much better than some recent Presidents. It’s obviously a serious job 99% of the time but nice to see the human side of our elected officials. The impersonation was absolutely amazing and very funny.

One of the greatest traditions of the American democracy (inexistent elsewhere, even though the British have a long tradition of political humor) is these annual mundane reunions where the president is invited to deliver a humorous speech with sometimes self-deprecating remarks, often not devoid of a political message, in a relaxed atmosphere. It is something i truly admire as a non-american. Unfortunately, not all presidents are able to laugh at themselves, it takes a lot of brains and wit to be able to perform this exercise.

As a Brazilian, and born in 2003, seeing Bush’s videos during his mandate as President of the US is great! I love him and his sense of humor as well! I wish the recent Presidents were like this.
Obama one-upped Bush in terms of comedy I think. Trump and Biden both can be funny, but they didn’t do bits like this as much.

As a non-American , I am so impressed with the fact that the U.S president not only laughs at his own expense, but he also stands there, next to this remarkable comedian, who delivers non-stop jokes about Bush's "broken" English and other creative phrases.
I wish other world leaders follow this tradition, reminding themselves they are only human.
I didn't particularly liked Bush as the president , but seeing these videos and some others ( like his unpredicted special bond with the Obama couple, the book that he published which includes the paintings he had made with U.S army wounded personal etc. ), I can't not like him..

Btw, a lot of things can be said about Bush, honest criticism. But he wasn't a fascist, he defended the free press and he could laugh at himself. And a coup was not part of his agenda. And with all disagreements I have with him, I sure have reasons to respect him on those areas.
