One thing to beware of if you plan to take your own food onto the plane is the agriculture regulations of any country you'll be entering. Anything from fruit and nuts to meat and dairy might be prohibited, and not allowed onto the plane.
The flight attendants will tell you to bin any foods left in your bag beforehand of leaving the airplane at your arrival destination if itâs a different country, best to eat all in during the flight, take the food out at the beginning so youâll remember. The customs department will fine you because of the types of diseases brought in from plant life and foods to their countries eco system.
@@charm8167 That too, yes, but sometimes agricultural inspection takes place *before* boarding.
Fly Emirates! Good ethnic meal, complimentary headphones and regular drinks, great screen with amazing viewing options, and the attendants are just awesome. Flew back from Milan to JFK on that line. Highly recommend.
Will be flying Emirates first time from the Philippines through Dubai to Poland, Hope for decent experience as well. From what I saw online most things especially food is included.
If everyone is going with carry on only, I think I'll check my bag in next time I fly. It'll probably be the only one in the hold.
Carryon only
You are doing GREAT!! Your videos are just what we want to see. Even us hard core travelers are keeping our finger on the pause of all that is changing. Big THANKS. Keep up the great work.
This video is short and sweet. I like the tip to bring a pen that is easily accessible on an international flight. The tip to arrive 3 hours before boarding is helpful. And I will be sure to carry extra set of clothes in my carry-on in case of baggage delays.
Hopefully you will never have to use the spare clothes, but so good to have. Especially with the mess travel has been in 2022.
@@PortableProfessional oh that has happened to me before, where the baggage is sent separately to the final destination and so I didn't see my luggage for a day because I had to do layovers. Hope your summer is going well!
I always have two pairs of under pants as well as spare set of clothes and always some toilet tissues.
Make sure the pen is Black- some arrival forms specify this.
Carry on only!
Your videos are always so simple and concise! Thank you !
I agree. No flight is possible until all the paperwork is done. Thank you Megan.
Carry on only. I travelled around Asia before Covid with carry on luggage only as we used cheap airlines and I dont every want to have to check in luggage ever again. It was so easy.
Such a great way to travel around!
Under seat Carry on only for 2 weeks in Italy.
Started doing this before Covid when short stuff me had trouble getting my bag into over head. turned around and saw the steward laughing at me. Slow burn. Another passenger helped. Later found out airline stewards & stewardesses are not allowed to put luggage in overhead bin. Itâs a union thing to avoid injuries. So I take care of myself. Iâm in my 70âs. I just buy the extra stuff when I get to my destination and leave it for the next guest or maids. Also since I jump from place to place, no one knows I wore that flower print dress two days before and washed it in the sink of my hotel.
Have fun traveling!!
A person after my own heart. At 66 itâs a bit harder to get that bag into the overhead locker. Yes, the lighter the better. Happy travels, Kat.
nice Kat!
Good for anyone not taking more than they can handle. I don't want to left your heavy roll aboard in the bin any more than the flight attendant does.
Carry on only! Great tips! thank you!
Carry-on only! I'll be traveling internationally very soon, so I look forward to your tips!
Bring a power adapter for the outlets as the US/UK/EU are going to be different. Donât be stuck at your hotel without the proper plug.
You are becoming my go to source for info in the new world of international travel...thanx! Oh yeah....Carry on only..always.
Carry-on for 3 months in Spain and Norway, and other possible travel. Just did carry-on for 6 weeks in Chile. It's so great to travel light. Especially in Europe, they obviously have everything. I love going to Zara and buying some cheap clothes of the season. And in Barcelona I go to Sephora to get the toiletries I need. Or in smaller towns the pharmacy. Shopping in a foreign country is always fun and challenging! And checking bags is always such a hassle, in my opinion.
there are also many stores with washing machines we can use instead of buying new clothes.
We did 8 weeks in France with carry-on only. Don't miss schlepping the extra bags and weight.
Thank you sooooo much for this. So many elements I wouldn't have even thought of but will now prepare for. I'm grateful to you. â€ïž
Carry-on only for the last 10 years including several 3 week trips to Europe. My wife and I spent 3 weeks in France this year both with carry-on only.
Must Have - Global Entry! Always travel with underseat carry-on and an overhead carry-on even if you check luggage.
If you check a bag you shouldnât need to take up over head bin space. Under the seat bag is plenty to have essentials you need for one night just in case. It would be worth learning how to pack more efficiently. Global entry or Nexus is absolutely worth having. However, if you check a bag itâs not as useful being one of the first passengers through if you have to exist for the checked bag. You se just waiting at the carousel even longer.
CARRY ON ONLY!!
Carry-on only for the last 2 decades. Over the shoulder bag for TSA, passport, etc for easy access through security and on plane. Great tips. Things have changed a little in the last couple of years. đđ»
Like fanny pack?
Carry On Only. Backpacking all the way
That's great. Enjoy!.
Thank you. Very informative. đâïž
Carry-on only, for sure.
We WERE planning to check our bags for a 3 week trip to Scotland (from Vancouver) next month, BUT not now!!!! This will force us to really take minimalist packing seriously if only to keep the weight down lifting our bags into the overhead (we are now in our 70s and it gets harder every year). Thanks for all the videos that you do.
IMHO, ... it would be an idea to MAIL your luggage to your destination ... express courier is expensive, ... but less stressful. ... then keep only some essentials as a small (international) carry on.
DH and I are also in our 70s now, but have always traveled with only a carry on. You really can do 2 weeks with just a carry on. You do not get dirty traveling and can always stuff underwear into corners of your suitcase. It does not matter if you wear a shirt two days or slacks for 3 days. Nobody cares. It is so much easier to not have to worry about your baggage when it is always with you. Safe travels and I hope you have a wonderful trip. Scotland is very beautiful.
I am short so regardless of weight I always worry about getting my luggage into the overhead bins - I was listening to a flight attendant who suggested a $5 Starbucks card as a small thank you. Of course people are kind and will help you but I like to let people know that I am really appreciative.
Carry on only! đ€
Great advice! Yes, depending on the airline all the perks and free stuff you used to get may no longer be available. However on flights longer than 4 hrs, you are provided with a meal.
Thanks so much for your tip it helps me
Thanks!
I take 2 checked bags, a carry on and a backpack. For the last 5 years, I have only flown internationally to my house in Thailand, where Iâll be retiring to in 4 years. I have all the clothes and toiletries that Iâll ever need there. Now, I take personal possessions that I donât want to throw away or sell when I leave. On the way back, my now empty suitcases carry Thai food and spices that my Thai wife wants. I check very carefully whether an airline allows 1 or 2 suitcases
†I thought I was organized... Your experience and manner of organization are admirably respected. Itâs that sliced out detail that makes the difference. You should be on the top of the CZcams algorithm and a ongoing guest on the Travel Channel and Morning News talk shows.
Thank you so much for all your encouragement, Jerry! It means a lot!
Thanks for the tips - heading to Denmark, Norway and Sweden in August âïž
Carry-on only, best way to fly in Europe these days, didnât have any trouble in Athens, Rome or Rhodes international airports in July, while there were some problems in Europeâs major airports. Less you carry with you and more peace of mind you have.
Always carry-on only. Been doing that for years now. Never again will we check a bag !
Wow, so useful. Cheers for sharing :)
Carry-on only for 2œ weeks. Flying international, LAX to/from FRA. Unfortunately, your next video regarding "important documents" will likely not be available before my hop across The Pond.
Thanks for your videos. I either learn something new or it's a good review of previous experience. đđŒđđŒ

Carry-on only
Carry-on ONLY!
carry on only!
Carry on only convert here!! I checked a large bag when we went to Paris 10 years ago and never again after that!! I didnât wear most of the stuff and lugging that big suitcase around was horrible! With careful wardrobe planning and packing cubes you can easily get by with only carry on! I am hoping to visit Israel in 2023 for a 12 day trip and will only use carry on. Thank you for sharing your tips!
Why are you soo underrated. You deserve million of subscribers. Always enjoyed your contents. đâ€
NIce video !! Good job !!greetings from ibiza!
Carry on only đ
Carry On Only
We did carry-on only on our recent flight from Seattle to Amsterdam and back. Meals and entertainment (earplugs, movies, etc.) were included.
Carry on alwaysđ
Carry on only to Italy this August for 12 days!
Always just a carry on...no matter how long I leave for.
I'm doing a personal item only for 2œ weeks down south, flying internationally. I don't like worrying about there being no overhead bin space so I just bring one backpack.
Carry on only sweetie both domestic and internationally!
Carryon
Carry on only! Gotta pack for 11 days
Good tips! I am not sure what form you are referring to for Mexico? The FNM Form is in both Spanish and English.
Hi, Iâm binge watching all your videos! Their great and very informative. I just would like to know who you can use Google translate off line?
Carry on only
Iâm traveling to Mexico in a few weeks to see family and Iâm going solo. This video was pretty helpful and I a little bit nervous
Glad you liked it! Have a safe and enjoyable trip!
This helps a lot im going to Egypt in October to meet my man and this be my first time ever on a plane
The good news for me is that living out of my suitcase for the past few years, I will actually toss out my old clothes and buy stuff at my destination. Maybe even another computer with the appropriate plugs for Eurasia. You'd be surprised at what's really necessary when you boil it down to the minimum.
Carry on ONLY
Carry on only ( first time )
Carry on only for 3 weeks in Italy this fall.
I do carry on only nowadays, no matter the length of the trip. It's just less hassle, easier to get around, quicker to get in and out of airplanes and airports. The only thing is trying to work around the liquid limits, but most things you can purchase at your destination.
Might sound silly...but what's the weight limit for carry on if you are not checking in the baggage?
Carry on onlyâŠâŠâŠ..alwaysâŠ.
carry on only... This will be my travel luggage from now on
Sounds good! Happy travels, Jason!
Carry-on only âș
Going to Thailand Sept/Oct from SFO (month) - upgrading to premium economy, so checked bag...and small carryon daypack. Flying EVA
Love travelling
carry-on only
I've never had a 48 hour checkin window before afaik. Good tip.
I learned my lesson in 2017 traveling to Tokyo with too much luggage. It wasn't Fun lugging the extra stuff ( which I subsequently didn't wear anyway.) My son warned me not to do it.
From then on, I always travel w/ a carry-on suitcase and a backpack internationally or domestically.âââ
carry on only
I purposely booked a hotel right next to a mall in Europe so that access to things like toiletries are easily accessible! We are only gone for 12 days to France but doing our best to pack using personal item and carry-on.
Just got back from London, Paris and Brussels. Flew to London and Paris and took the train to Brussels. No forms, thank God. On the flight to London, we had coffee/tea/juice, snacks, and food. I was shocked.
Carry on
Carry-on only. Lisbon-Tel Aviv in August, 10 days and flying back to Lisbon from Amman, Jordan. Also carry-on only.
We only ever take carry-ons. We will be traveling throughout Europe for three weeks, but we only take a few outfits and wash, then hang to dry when we arrive at our next destination as needed. Everything drys before it needs to be worn or re-packed.
This is my like 20 time.going on international trip but every time I got exited and watch these types of videosđ
Thanks, for the tips it has been awhile. What type headphones are compatible? If allowed like to grab a pair off Amazon.
We're doing carry on only for 2 weeks in Germany and Italy.
Carry-On Only to Ireland from NJ
I have noticed the last point a lot lately especially with baggage charges.
Carryon only! Going on a week long river cruise through France.
Carryon only all the time!
Carry-on only in three weeks.
Carry on only always. If I'm going to live in another country then I'll do checked luggage.
We are planning on using a 21â suitcase and a weekend or backpack bag per person. I will be have limited toiletries as they can be bought when we get there
Just returned from a ten day trip to Europe. We heeded the warnings of baggage chaos at major hubs and successfully did carry-on only including: clothing for a formal wedding and navigating a 30°F temperature difference between Croatia and Scandinavia. Our biggest challenge was the SAS pilot strike, which went into effect midflight. Be aware that you can't simply rebook on a partner airline, or even get answers to any of your questions until your particular flight is officially canceled. If you have booked through a travel agency or Expedia, etc everything needs to go through them (and they don't get the timely push notifications from the airlines that you do). This goes for weather cancelations, etc too. Also, be prepared to pay more for that rebooked seat. The EU does have some strict rules on refunds but you'll have to pay upfront (likely at a higher rate) then wait a few days for your refunds. We're now happily looking forward to revisiting the fantastic places we missed exploring while we were on hold waiting to talk with airline and travel agents (once the airlines and airports get the memo that people really do want to travel again đ )!
So I get from this that we need to pack our patience. đ Thx for sharing.
Why not consider going on a cruise instead? It's the most convenient & relaxing way of travelling from one country to another if you want to visit more tourist destinations around the world.
Nice videos
Carry on only for me this year.
Nice, Chris!!
