I laud the patience of the US servicemen. It must be utterly exhausting to have to deal with "auditors" who have nothing better to do with their days than go to work.

Simply put, they have the authority to "detain" an individual suspected of an act against the base or personnel. They would be released to local authorities.

It’s not a drone answer, it’s just a professional answer you should have expected from a US Contractor. They don’t have any authority over you and probably don’t have vast knowledge on British Law, so it makes a lot of sense for them to direct you to your local authority.
And for your little civil war comment. You’re just sour. “Superior” wouldn’t have been the term I used personally, but to each their own. I love my UK brothers but there is a reason we have bases in the UK and not the other way around. You guys needs us there for stability in the NATO region……we do not need you. At all.

@Ubiquitous Ubiquitous I know the law regarding the OSA😏you on the other hand don't 😆, I think you should go re read it yourself, even tells you about recording or obtaining information, I take it you missed that part?
More than enough white papers on the subject and prosecutions, but like I said and have done over the last few years, the change is coming and it is, it's nearly here and it will make arrest, fines and prison much easier for the police.
So the only one spouting nonsense here is yourself 😂🤣😆 as you really don't understand either the 1911 OSA or article 10 of the 1998 HRA.
And regarding that "OSA you have to sign up to", guess what, you can still be prosecuted under that in certain circumstances, either way it isn't the one that is covered here but the 1911 and 1920 are, the 1989 was section 2 of the 1911/1939 OSA before becoming its own act.

I spent 4 years in S/F-K9 and never saw anyone get arrested. I guarded parked aircraft, missile sites, ammo bunkers, and sat at gates checking ID cards. That's as much being a cop as a school crossing guard. I worked 24/7, weekends, and holidays getting paid the same as Mon x Fri, admin people. On the midnights I walked the perimeter of a fence while waiting for the truck to deliver a box lunch. This was in frigid weather. The Asvab requirement ties with becoming a cook. It's where those flunking other tech schools get dumped. And we called ourselves cops. The name is Security Guard Forces. It didn't help me any becoming a city police officer. Avoid this job.

And security "eats their own". With everyone thinking they're a cop, lots of snitches. Sometimes we wrote fellow airmen cheesy tickets while thinking this was police work. We guarded parked aircraft, fence lines, ammo bunkers, and missiles which have never once moved. We sat at gates checking the same ID cards for years.

Hiya! Blimey the start of this was like an episode of the Walking Dead where they introduce a set of new people and you can’t work out who’s gonna be good or psychotic cannibals! Great entertainment! Think the Yanks need a bit more training on what’s north, east, west and south….. I’m in Manchester but to them I’m in the outer Hebrides! 🤭Thanks.

Why is the police in the base when they have their own police force on-site no wonder they keeping saying that they have no staff to solve public crimes when they are protecting American army bases.
