Amazing composition. Wonderfully re-created. Couldn't control my tears thinking of the great MAHAKAVI and the greatest MSV. The whole song with orchestration was done in half an hour is truly unbelievable stuff, given the technology prevalent at that time. True genius at work. MSV and Soolamangalam amma avargalukku saashtaanga namaskarams.

Excellent presentation n singers are really awesome. Too good a programme.
Excellent rendition by both Smt. Vidya and Smt Vinaya. A classic composition by MSV - seemed to be based on Raagam Shudh Saarang predominantly, with an excellent use of Shehnai & flute. The beauty is when the line "andha Melavar Naavenum Malar padhathaaL" is rendered for the 1st time, it would sound like Kalyaani - in that particular phase alone just as we hear the original song too. I am not an expert, maybe, it's due to graha bedham. The problem for lay Rasikaas like me is Shudh Sarang would sound like Shyam Kalyaan @ some phases and like Hamir Kalyan @ some phases. Any way it's a beautiful composition matching Bharathi's beautiful lyrics. Nicely recreated with impeccable orchestration. To repeat Bharathi's own words:. "KoLLai kani isaidhaan"!

Yes, I concur with U that Shudh Sarang and Hamsanadham sound identical and I am quite aware of the songs mentioned by you. I hv also observed Shudh Sarang sounds like Shyam Kalyan & Hamir Kalyan too @ some phases. The same kind of confusion also arose for the song "Aruvi Mangal alai Oasai". While some interpret it as Saaranga, some infer it as Shudh Sarang and some interpret it as Shyam Kalyan. Thanx a lot for your response. I hv now sought a clarification from the artists too. Let's see. Tks & Regards
