    What are your thoughts on the Bose qc45 and the Sony xm4

    I need the prime 4+ to switch between standalone and a laptop without rebooting and want this feature tap the search one time to search the playlist and tap it twice to search the entire library but I will do exactly what cleveland said that everybody gets stems because it only do instrumental and acappella then when it does three stems I will only make it for the prime products

    While I appreciate stems, I don't use them, so not too fussed either way. However, I did just buy a prime go a week ago as I was extremely impressed with constant updates and it would immediately change my opinion of Denon if it was to move away from these updates reaching all suitable devices. I think Greed of corporations is clear, I think this path can undo a lot of denons hard and great work.

    If you watch the Digital DJ tips video release about this, the word on the street is that Denon wanted a "controlled" market for Stems, so they are only releasing it for the "+" products, like Prime 4+, etc; for Beta testing. So if you want to get the Prime 4+, you will have early access to a "beta" version of Stems and then eventually the first access to it later this year. Then after getting feedback/results from the beta, Denon will release it to its older products like the Prime 4 etc, but there wasn't an actual date. But what I took from that was that is coming, just most likely later in the year for the older gear.

    Nice vlog. Thank you.
    I'm a huge fan of the Prime 4. But it is 4 years old now. Your comment about running out of room tech wise is well placed I think. Ironically - the announcement that it is the same possessor just makes me less likely to purchase. I don't really want to pay top dollar for 4YO tech.

    The differences between the processor and ram between the Prime 4 and Prime 4 Plus can easily be verified just by opening the two up and doing a chip comparison (minus the Anazon chip) once the Prime 4 Plus becomes available. 😊

      Or I can literally ask the people who built it. 😀

    I still don't see how real time stems in VDJ quality on the prime 4 chip could be possible. Does the prime 4 plus have the same core chip and an additional chip for parallel processing that runs the models? On the the other hand, the new sampler had people playback ridiculous numbers of songs in parallel, so pre-analyzed high quality stems seem absolutely feasible, yet that's not what they are marketing. I'm looking forward to seeing this unfold.

    The real question is, will Engine OS version of STEMS ever be as good as VDJ 2.0 STEMS with the current hardware chips. I doubt it, but we’ll see.

    I don't think Denon is being 100% transparent. Here's the thing...the OG Prime 4 uses the Rockchip RK3288 w/ quadcore processor manufacturered by Asus. Same chip found in many if their older mid range Chromebooks. Idk how they're saying the P4+ is using the same chip/processor when the Rockchip RK 2388 was discontinued years ago due to global shortage during pandemic. Asus discontinued their whole flip line if Chromebooks because they couldn't produce anymore RK 2388 chips & in turn, Denon couldn't manufacturer anymore Prime 2s at the time...which is why they discontinued that unit. Point being, it's physically impossible that the P4+ has same chip and processor as P4. I believe that's the same point the DJ Lab was trying to make

    So why don't they just pre-process the stems in the engine desktop app? There's even open source AI models to do it. A low end processor can play multiple channels easily enough.
    No reason to only have stems separated in real-time if you don't have the hardware for it.

      Hard drive space.

    • @LuisMontes
      @LuisMontes Před měsícem

      @@ClevelandTerry no doubt it could be 5 times as much space, but that's a small price for using something like the Demucs model and getting vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments.
      Drive space is cheap and good GPUs on laptops are relatively cheap to run it.

    For me, Amazon Music isn't really a big deal, and while I love the Stems feature and would have a blast playing with remixing songs on the fly, I think using Stems will be much more vital to Club or Touring DJs, or guys that produce radio mix shows, etc. than they will be for wedding DJs. So if I were doing weddings, I really wouldn't see the need to "upgrade" to a P4+ over the P4 that I already own. As they stand right now, the Prime 4+'s beta stems are nowhere near the quality of Serato, or especially VDJ Stems 2.0, and if upgrading the quality puts a strain on the already existing chip, then upgrading to a new unit with a better chip would make sense. An easy workaround is to just download the free version of VDJ and make your own stems (acapellas, instrumentals, etc.) in advance.

    As you always do . . . you put everything in TOTALLY Business prospective. The Prime 4+ is for those that wanted the Prime 4 but it got discontinued. Now that group that didn't get the Prime 4 will get the Prime 4+ with Stems ( ME ). Stems is no longer in BETA, it's a mid-range stem system that sounds OK. . . NOW . . . Wait for it . . NEW Product Prime 5 with a better processor that has NEW STEMS 3.0. Better stems that isn't backwards compatible because of the new chip. Prime 4 people are now Prime 5 upgraders and the Prime 4+ people are PISSED OFF. Just my $0.02. BTW, I'm going to be in the Prime 4+ group #OneTearFalls 😢 #ClevelandForPresident
