Jono dry, this is easily the best tutorial for drawing eyes I have ever seen! As a person who isn't a complete beginner, I can understand where you're coming from.
I am happy watching your videos because not only are you, in my opinion, the best graphite artist I have personally seen, you are the most informative artist to ever draw at this level of skill and explain it in detail that I know of. I am constantly beyond amazed at what you do. Thank you for posting such videos. I personally work in colored pencil, and to a degree, I can kind of apply what you teach here, even if your medium is different!
this just amazing , and why is your voice so calming?
@Harsh Garg. Maybe because he sounds like some aristocratic guy from Downton Abbey who you can count on to always be polite and nice
His mind is very calm and meditative , it can't be otherwise
@@Sunset-blvd My bet, he tours the streets killing homeless people to keep himself relaxed. No proof, just a feeling.
Would love to see how you draw hands, I particularly struggle with drawing them on smaller scales. BTW I like this overhead time lapse format, keep up the great work!
the tough part is the discussion, not the drawing process itself. I am also learning new technologies and a few friends have suggested I should create vlogs, but how could an insane introvert (like me) talk in front of a camera?
You are . . . amazing. 👌
Hearing him laugh while creating such a masterpiece makes me fall in love with him more !best artist ever ❤
I love how you don’t know everything about art. You’re a god at art, and yet you’re just a normal guy who doesn’t put people down for not knowing things.
Considering it's a quick charcoal study, it's quite solid eye drawing.
I would love to see you choose one of your favorite graphite drawings and then reproduce it in charcoal . Discussion of the journey, in your “no holds barred”, Jono way, would be an absolute treasure for this guy. Thank you for taking time to inspire all of us artists and art enthusiasts to stay hungry for excellence. Best wishes, Cliff
Never in my years of living have I ever new that an ELECTRIC eraser existed
welcome to the club of now I know :D
This is absolutely phenomenal! You should be part of the IBEX masters!!!
Well he is actually on their Watchlist.
@@YTuseraL2694 Oh damn! I had no idea thats awesome
@@YTuseraL2694 Really? I haven't heard of that till now 🤷♂️
@@YTuseraL2694 wow! how do find that out?
@@JonoDry yeah, I remember that they posted your drawing "Wrapped in tradition" in late October on their instagram page.
Best eye tutorial I've seen and I've watched quite a few. Thankyou young man
You were very smart in your explanation of how you were doing your composition, how and why you created your shadows, and your explanation of how you created the eyeball, as well as the eyelashes, was very comprehensive. Thank you!
Masterpiece.
This is eye opening..like literally
I was working an art inspired by your hyperrealistic eye and planned it a few hours ago then the notification suddenly popped. A short overwhelming moment came into my nerves, thank you, I need this right now...
It's incredible to see how ur drawing erupted into life
Jono I think you should do some more work with charcoal! This is beautiful. For someone who claims they rarely work with charcoal, you did a phenomenal job (as you always do with all of your art).
I love Jono. And I LOVE the part at 7:18 where he's all like, "I don't really know what I'm doing" while he's literally creating a freaking gorgeous eye that looks real AF!!!! Just went to the art store yesterday and got a bunch of supplies he uses. I'm gonna give some of these tutorials a try!
What a beautiful post. Charcoal can be so obstinate on paper. You certainly know how to show it who's boss. 👏👏💖
I love how humble he is. He gives art mediums a heart beat. Definitely not just pencil drawings.
Man that fine line under the iris does make the diff , thank you
Hey from Canada. I have just gotten into drawing and love the realism that you put into each project. I have viewed many, many artists and you by far are the absolute best graphite/charcoal artist I’ve ever seen. All I can say is WOW! At 61 I don’t know if I have enough years left to even get a quarter as good as you.
I know your artwork is in the thousands upon thousands I applaud you
It was a true pleasure to see him use charcoal. I really like drawing with charcoal and got to see a master at work. Even if you did blend too much, but hey, at least you can laugh at your mistakes, while I marvel at them. Hands would be great, especially in various gestures.
The hell with the eye... teach me how to be so cool and smooth.
I love this channel! Thank you for the tutorial. It really helps when you share what you’re focusing on and explain how they nest themselves in the drawing.
What matters here is how you present your work, giving tips and guides and your voice so cool and unique that makes a lot of video flow amazing. ... I can never miss on your video release ....
Yeah we need more of these
Great technique and explanation thank you very much. A little something that I have learned is that as long as you can enjoy your work and it keeps a roof over your head that that is the best job there is. Being modest keeps the real friends there and the joy of sketching or making art and being able to teach it is a true gift. I love to paint likewise and it is something that makes me happy too. I look forward to your future videos and I will definitely put into practice some of those suggestions.
I love how well you explain what you draw....
I get so exited when I see jonos uploaded a new video fr
Skills are unreal
I have never seen such a detailed eye broken down so simplistically, thank you!
Step by step tutorial from the great artist. Wow. Thanks Jono. It’s exactly what we needed. Couldn’t have asked for more. Please keep teaching us.
I’m a huge fan and I love these type of tutorial videos. They really give me confidence to explore and challenge myself. Thanks! Looking forward to the next videos!!!
You know you’re dope when you teach a how to video on something you never do
Jono Dry, I can't thank you enough for creating this video. As someone who is working hard to become a successful artist, and as a person, I deeply admire the surreal and mind-numbingly realistic masterpieces you put out into the world. I can't yet imagine how hard you must work (especially to be self-taught!), and what kind of work ethic you must have. You deciding to take time out of your day to share your wisdom to anyone willing to listen is something anyone should be proud of. I would be so grateful if you'd continue to make these kinds of videos. I also found the Building a Career in Art videos very useful. Thank you so much for your kindness! I can't wait to follow this tutorial myself and learn from the very best. Please continue working hard, Jono. You can go even further.
Sincerely,
A devoted Fanatic
I've been sketching drawing and painting since I was in 2nd grade and you keep me inspired to become better and better every time also I'm 19 now
Jono, hope you are doing well. I've been watching your work for about 2 years now, trying to accomodate certain level of realism to my ink work.
Its hard.
But I must say your videos have helped me.
Inspiration and commitment are other relevant things you foster and i hope to keep recieving.
Thank you, Jim.

FINALLY TUTORIALS FROM THIS AMAZING ARTIST
Okay, so I normally draw eyes as a fun warm-up sketch, but watching this video was actually super helpful in showing how little parts can really help a piece come together. Definitely going to try and do one epic drawing of an eye after seeing this video.
Great fun that you chose a medium, you are not too familiar with! Keeps it so real and relatable. Awsome as usual!
Amazing! Please do more of this!
I love how self-aware and humble you are bro ✌🏾

Awesome! Wishing all the luck with it, Reese 🙂
I didn't want the video to end. Amazing, just amazing. ❤ it's like listening to soothing music.🎶🎶🎶🎶
What i like about him is the amount of detail that he has in his drawing is crazy.
It takes a lot of hard work to put this on a paper .
Good job
Hard work?
Probably doodles all day like me

Very informative and such an impressive end-results.
Woaw aweaome, charcoal scares me. I'm gonna give it a try, looks awesome!
Perfect speed! I love these tutorials. Your work leaves me in awe. I would love a video on how you draw the textures on elephant skin. I am busy with drawing my first large elephant drawing, but the skin texture is leaving me stumped.
I really like this tutorial because I was able to see the progress and the details. Hope we will be able to see more of those tutorials! Have a nice day :)

This tutorial is the best 😍
You’re so talented!
Love you Jono, you inspired me the most thank you soo much brother 💜🤜🏻
Another fantastic video Jono and thank you for sharing your tips in your calm way. Love how you are happy to experiment and share as it is so important for us to all keep learning. I do love drawing eyes, as you say, because of the different textures, however would be amazing to see you do similar for the nose as this I find is so much about shading as there are fewer defined edges. Thank you again and stay safe.
Omg. You are insanely talented!!! Thank you
Thank you for this!
This was amazing! Thank you so much!
Respect brother..you are so genuine 💗
