Hi, I fixed a few of these for a friend.
I don't have any inverters to check. Buy a faulty one on ebay for £10
    I don't have a PDF drawing either.

    Hi,
This is a long shot, I know
I'm working on a smaller model, the SkyTronic G-12-030 inverter (300W max)
One of Low voltage MosFETs (RFP50N06) had blown. I replaced it but still no joy. The unit just beeps, no fan, no oscillation
I noticed that a 556 timer did not get power, I also found a 7812 which did not get power either
    Any one any tips?
    Schematics would be wonderful
Or does anyone know an OEM brand name of the same unit?
    thanks,
    ChrisV

Just bought a brand new Mercury IMS-150 (24v 150w) square wave inverter. The spec says 300w peak soft start 150w continuous.
I am running a heat pad 120w and it stops producing enough power after about a minute, no faults, no smells, no overheating and fan goes off.
Any idea what is wrong with it? Seller says I need a bigger inverter which I find hard to believe when 300w should be enough to deliver 120w continuously.
    Any comments appreciated.

Try a 100 watt light bulb, if the inverter stops, it is faulty.
It should run a 120 watt load.

Please, I have an inverter that has some charred resistors, and I do not know its value. I wonder if you have a similar inverter or help to repair it. Thank you.

It's probably a short circuit protection diode if fitted.

Thank you for your post, I need an inductor / flyback transformer for a 5 volt 200mA smps.
The inductor must be no taller than 11mm
      Can you help?

      Hi Andy,
      No sorry I don't know.
I repaired some of these for a friend, I don't have any details for them.

My 1.2kva 24v Mercury inverter stopped carrying heavy load like my Desktop Pc and My 80W refrigerator. Which part do I look up to? Don't know much about electronics. I just know the basics and making simple projects.

Start looking to see what is blown.
Does it work with a light load?

It works very well with light load. It takes my two televisions but not my refrigerator. I hv decide to buy another one.

Sir, i have an issue in one of my cheap modified sinewave inverter..it beeps Fault whenever i draw large load like 500 watts and up from my batteries..i suspect the voltage sensor is damage..even i use other inverter to drive the load and the modified has no load..it will still beep for fault even it has no load, just turn on together with the other inverter with the Load on it.please share if you have idea on how to repair this..

      Hi David,
Sorry I've not looked at any inverters since doing this video.
I have no idea why yours would take a long time to start.

It takes a long time to start because its power is not enough for this application. Inductive loads (motors) need very high initial currents in order to start. Usually the inverter should be capable of withstanding (at least) the triple power than its nominal one for a few seconds. The problem you face is due to the overcurrent sensing circuit which gets repeatedly activated until it eventually is deactivated. Normally it should not start at all, as its nominal power is very close to the load power...
