Nice views of ice and water crossings. And the rocks! Fun day.

Awesome video. Love hearing your thoughts about the challenges of the different trails. The AT definitely has tamer water crossings and less views. It's a weird dichotomy. The AT makes me appreciate views more. The CT was incredible, but views were like air . . . You forget they were there after a while. I really valued being in forests on the CT. Best part of all trails . . . They are all unique in their own way.🤘🕓

Thanks for sharing these thoughts. I agree, that the AT teaches you to value the views you earn a bit more. But, one of the reasons I walked during winter/spring was to see around me through the leaveless trees. I guess I got a little addicted to the big views. I definitely would never complain of those out west views. 😁

You are the third hiker this week to share with there subs about the contrast between the social and natural environments. You all used the term overwhelmed. One hiker said he was "overrun by incessant talking .That it was to much " Almost at the level of PTSD. It certainly looks to effect some hikers well being . That information is good to share in the hiker community.

Thanks for highlighting this here. It’s nice to read that my experience isn’t unique in this regard.

Loved your water crossing and waterfalls! Those are my favorites. And the rocks you had to squeeze through were incredible. Who knew you could see NYC from the AT?

Beautiful video! Be gentle on yourself in regards to how you are feeling (physically and emotionally). I so enjoy hearing your thoughts and watching the scenery! Cheering you onward!

I hike in a skirt and the walk across the Hudson Bridge was quite revealing for me. :D

You missed the Walt Whitman statue at the zoo, where the bears get to see you.
From the third stanza of Song of the Open Road:
You air that serves me with breath to speak!
You objects that call from diffusion my meanings and give them shape!
You light that wraps me and all things in delicate equable showers!
You paths worn in the irregular hollows by the roadsides!
I believe you are latent with unseen existences, you are so dear to me.
😊 I think of your Golden Hour and your thoughts on the Trail as you walk.

Thanks for sharing the poem Alison! The zoo was closed when I got there. It was after closing hours, and also off season.

This was a very lovely video. All the water! Who doesn't like to see and hear flowing water? And NYC! I love that city. Crowds, filth and all.

Good video with lots of good beautiful views, with some high water crossing, that water was cold, so let's keep on hiking 😊

All this talk of river crossings reminds me of Colin Fletcher's The Complete Walker, where he shows how to put your pack on your head to cross rivers. Glad you probably won't have to do that...

Looks like a lovely day! Crazy that bear mountain state park is closed. Last year I made it through there in July and it was closed, from a big storm that went through and caused a lot of damage. I wonder if it's still closed from then or if something else happened.
