the problem with people who think calisthenics dont work is that they think the only calisthenics exercises are the pushups and pullups

Everything is 2-3 times harder on a set of rings. You can also isolate muscles fairly easily. It becomes easy to increment difficulty as the straps are labeled with increments. The instability of the rings forces you to use more stabilizing muscles which leads to a larger stimulus. The real advantage of the gym is for leg exercises imo

      i mean , not really .
I quit the gym and started cali . And i can say with certainty that bench press gives an equal or even better range of motion than the standard chest to ground pushup .
See , you arch your back in a bench press , which basically stretches the fuck out of your pecs in the bottom position. As for pushups , i dont feel like i get the same feel that i did when i used to bench .
Also weighted pushups can only be safe until a certain level . Like most people would feel really unstable keeping two plates on their back . Ive tried a single plate and the olate slides down your back , or it shifts to the side , even when you wear a bag and adds weights to it .

I opine calisthenics is equally good as gym. Calisthenics is versatile. There are other types as well like weighted calisthenics , endurance training, dynamic and statics. So you can take components from each one to build your dream physique and train for cool skills like handstand pushups, planche. to conclude calisthenics will improve your weightlifting but weight lifting will not improve your calisthenics.

      @joeclements  Před 10 měsíci +7

Do a max set of pull-ups and then add some negatives or scapula retractions. You could also try switching up your grip for a bit and then go back to normal pull-ups. Keep it up G 👍🏻

My max is 8-9 pull ups, great job mate! ,personally, i moved on to Pull ups/chin ups but with knees in front of me (or completely in L sit if possible) , it enhance the difficulty ALOT by stretching the lats to a weaker position, the more I improve my strenghts ,sets & reps to this exercice, the better I get in regular pull ups, and this at any grip; you really gotta try this ! ;)

backpack with rocks. after a month u will feel super light when doing bodyweight only pull ups. This is how i got my first muscle up. Also for the love of God don't do half reps. Full lock out at the bottom because thats where the explosiveness comes from.

If you train always to failure, that's a problem. You might not get the rest needed to grow. For more strength you increase weights, following a pyramid cycle program. For example +10kg , then +15-20, then back to bodyweight. One set and training every other day are enough, less is more.

I actually have to disagree with you bro but you can build muscle with calisthenics of you include drop sets here's an example
    dips 7x20
    pike push ups 6x20
    decline push ups 6x17
    push ups 6x20
    triceps push ups 5x max
    pull :
advanced tuck front lever pull 5x8
advanced tuck front lever raise 5x8
    pullups 5x14
    hollow body chin up 5x10
    arch chin up 5x8
    inverted rows 8x20
    legs
pistol squat 50 reps ( per leg)
    usually 10x5
    assisted sissy squat 10x15
    reverse nordic 6x9
    bodyweight hamstring curl 5x20
    glute bridge 5x25
    calf raises 7x40
    tibialis raises 7x20
and that's an example of bodyweight drop sets and when you get to failure you're muscles will grow
