  • Complicated topic to cover but by watching this video, the whole way through, you will get a better understanding of how individual pieces of the Army make up bigger and bigger organizations. Also, this shows you how some Army MOS may not be combat related but have the change of being close to infantry soldiers and therefore...combat.

      @@zackyvt1319 that’s the world over and not just limited to the military.
      Currently, although who knows for how much longer, “work” is undertaken by a lower echelon of staff. We can call them co-workers, colleagues or whatever you want. But in every area of “work” there are the “doers”. Very loosely this means the bin men who operate refuse carts, or coal miners, or infantry men and basic rifle holders (how many have I just alienated... ).
      Above that come the ubiquitous layers of “management”. For military reasons call that “officers” and we’ll let others comment on differences between non-commissioned officers and commissioned officers. Sadly a lot of people can relate to not liking the “boss”. People are put in powers of authority for all sorts of reasons and not every one is suited to that role.
      The military, god bless them, put a huge amount of effort into training their officers. There are times when those under the command of said officers may not see that training coming shining through...
      Long and involved and over complicated (was I an officer in a previous life...) but that summarises why the enlisted man (or woman) as a group is known to dislike officers.

      @SIRslipperyasp91 Před 2 lety +16

      @Yelle Slegers a regiment is a unit larger than a Battlion, but smaller than a brigade. It's not commonly used in the modern US army since we've embraced the strategy of Brigade Combat Teams, each BCT having all the essential components needed to wage war individually. Regiments don't make sense in that paradigm.

      @@yelleslegers581 a regiment is the equivalent of a battalion but used mainly for Engineers like in most countries you have engineer Regiment instead of battalion. However it is structured like a battalion, they are mainly specialized like parachute regiment, engineering regiment etc so even if its about the same size as a battalion or Brigade in few countries, it is almost always specialized unlike a battalion which need not be specialized

    Hi mate, loving your work. I’m a veteran from the Australian army, and most of my 23 year career specialised in command post and operations. Have you heard of ORBAT war v ORBAT peace? As well as attachments specific to the operation or exercise? Eg. Delta company 2/4 RAR had a section of special forces as well as an engineers attached to its HQ. Each platoon had teams of SF and engineers attached for a small duration of a 6 week exercise. Also, mapping, and explaining military symbology on a topographical map eg. On the left hand side of an infantry company symbol, you’ll have the unit identifier, in this example it was D Coy, and on the right of the symbol was the higher unit identifier you’ll have 2/4 RAR. This may sound simple, but when you’ve got 1 RAR 2/4 RAR as well as 3 RAR (Para), on the same map. This is when it gets more complex, especially when you’re giving an intel brief to a brigade commander about incidents that had occurred in the last 12 hours, which included DTG and who moved. Use of call signs is a huge one, when to use it and when not. Who had broken comms and who had not called in. This was a snippet of some of my field work whilst deployed as a brigade field intel, attached from a battalion. I hope this all makes sense, and hit me up if you need further explanation. Cheers

The weapons company also specializes in mk19/ 50. Cal operation and has a plt with tow humvees/ jltvs. And the battalion hq scout plt isn't all cav scouts but many 11b's are assigned as necessary.

    What you are missing from this are the Civilian “Special Officers” who are frequently embedded into Military Command Structures because when Military Personnel are posted out of a Unit on a regular basis (posting cycles of 2 & 3 years) continuity within the Unit is lost.
    Take for example a problem which presents today, but which also presented itself once before, say 7 years ago.
    Nobody in the Unit today was here 7 years ago and therefore no one here actually knows the solution.
    Now the wheel could be reinvented, but that could take valuable time OR the Civilian “Special Officer” who has been here since before that problem last appeared, can be consulted for a solution.

      Guerrilla Drills. Also Known As :Circuit Training. Find a place such as a high school track. Bring a timer (most phones have them in clock settings) and set it to 30 seconds for each exercise. You will also be running. Before doing your training, warm up: run in place or do jumping Jack's (called Side Straddle Hops in the Army) for at least Thirty seconds. Stretch your entire body from your neck to your feet. Do joint rotations. This will prevent injury. Run one lap on the grass of football field (lessens impact on joints), not full throttle, just get blood pumping. After that, do the following or variations of them: Push Ups, Run in Place Crunches, Side straddle hops, Dips, Squat Thrusts (Burpees) for 30 seconds each. Then run a lap. Go for Five sets. Don't worry about counting reps, just crank them out. Don't quit. Do those five revolutions, then do one extra lap as a cool down. Then do same as warm up but hold each stretch for 2x as much as warm up, this is the cool down. It prevents injuries. The next day, plan a slow jog on that grass for no more than two miles. Do warm up and cool down. On day 3 do active rest (go for a long walk) and stretching. Day 4 do Pushups/Sit up Diamonds. After Warm Up: Do ten Pushups. Then 10 sit ups. Then 9 push ups Then 9 sit ups, etc until you are at one push up/sit up. Rest, drink water, and stretch for one minute, then do two pushups and two sit ups and on and on until you reach ten again. If you hit failure on pushups, do modified pushups on your knees until you get them done. Don't get up until they are all complete. Rest, hydrate and do your cool down stretching. Day 5. After Warm up, run two miles. Try to get in the range where you can't talk while running. The best way to start out is do interval runs:Jog for 1/8 a mile, run 1/8, etc until you get 2 miles done. Then walk for a quarter mile while hydrating. Then do cool down. Probably be best to run on a soft surface such as grass. On day 6 active rest. Day 7 rest. Day 8 is day 1, but you should do something different every day. But make this week a run week. Slow 3 mile, next day do pull ups/pushups/sit ups, and hanging leg raises. Incorporate sprints every day. Day three short fast run (1.5 miles) with Sprints at the end. Day 4 Guerrilla Drills, Day 5 Two Mile pace. Sprint the last straighaway. Day 6 active rest. Day 7 Stretching and rest. Next day: do old APFT: (one half): 1 minute pushups. Rest for 10 minutes. 1 minute sit ups. Rest 10 minutes. 1 mile run. Do warm ups and cool down double what normally do but don't do any push ups or squat thrust in warm up. Do stretching and drink some water (don't bloat yourself) during rest period. Go all out. Record number of pushups and sit ups and your time. Don't be disappointed. You're just getting started. Day 2 should be active rest. Day 3, long slow run with Sprints.2-3 miles. Day 4 Pyramids. Day - until you ship out should be about pushups and situps: whatever your score was for each, do that, as many times a day as you can. The day before you go, eat your favorite food and relax. Because relaxing is not in your life the next few weeks.

    • @mr.k.i.s.s7496
      @mr.k.i.s.s7496 Před 4 lety

      They are not part of an Infantry Command. 31E serves in an MP Company assigned to either a Facility or in a Support Brigade/Group. But you could be tasked out at the Platoon Level to run an "EPW" Camp in a forward area. 31Bs are assigned to a Company which can be assigned/attached to a Special Troops Brigade. Gone are the days of Division MPs. An MP with 31B MOS will Typically be assigned to an MP COMPANY. In one of the 3 or 4 MP Platoons. Or even to HQ Platoon to protect the Company Commander. Within an MP Platoon, they will be assigned to a Squad by the Platoon Leader/Platoon Sergeant. Within the Squad they will be assigned to a Three Member MP Team (Team Leader, Driver, Gunner). This is the Basic set up for a 31B Unit. 31E might be slightly different, but the principle is the same. EPW Camp is the old name for Resettlement/Internment Camp (Enemy Prisoner of War), which does more than deal with enemy soldiers.

Also the divsion artillery should consist of 2x additional battalions with a mixture of m777/ m142 himars. Us army Ibct's need the additional fire power as russian infantry motorized divsions have 2-3 mechanized regiments with bmp's/ btr-80's and 1 armored regiment, as well as a artillery regiment with 100-120 guns/ mlrs systems. The infantry divsions cab would have to use their 48 apaches/ 30 Blackhawks very effectively to compete with the russian organization for their infantry divsions.
