Man, EVERY TIME YOU DO A TOOL COVER I am blown away by your tone and technical accuracy. A lot of people think that because Adam Jones is not a “shredder” that his riffs are easy. It’s his tone, polyrhythms, time signatures and overall “uniqueness” that makes him one of the greats. Well done brother! Please keep TOOL’n!

that Hammer on 10 to 12 during the Verse does make it sound a lot better. I always thought it was just open palm mute. Great job as always

@@MaxNiessl awesome post! Is there a way one can get reasonably close sound to play most of what Adam Jones plays? I don't mean exact but good enough for those with modelling amps that have built in effects? Would appreciate if you can post how much compression, delay, distortion etc needs to be set. Also what amp and cab simulating model to chose? Can't find this easy to do anywhere. Thank you!
@@allboutthemojo It's kinda hard to get the sound. I'm very happy to own the Kemper which allows to essentially play through the Diezel. But you can look into plugins by Neural DSP. Those sounds are pristine :)

@@MaxNiessl that's a software like guitar rig or amplitude right? What if I'm not looking to record, just wanting to jam out loud with the music playing? Are those plugins/ software still useful? Would I need a daw to connect my guitar to the computer and then speakers to connect aux line out/ headphone out to a speaker?
Funny how yesterday I was driving home from work, had this song playing and thought.. "Hmmm I should learn to play this song." Now one of my personal favorite channels that do Tool covers just covered it with tabs.... It's like you read my mind or something!!! 😮

Wieder saugeil gespielt und toller Sound, Max! Es ist ja kein Geheimnis, dass Tool noch zur guten alten Riege gehört, die ohne Metronom aufnimmt. Trotzdem finde ich es immer wieder erstaunlich, wie sehr das Tempo zwischen den Parts schwankt, ohne dass es groß auffällt oder stört. In diesem Fall reicht es offenbar (vom Outro mal abgesehen) von 82 bis 115 wenn ich nichts übersehen habe 😯 Wahrscheinlich würde der Song seltsam klingen, wenn man ihn komplett auf 82 oder 115 BPM glattbügelt 😅
Danke dir, Tibor! Da hast du natürlich recht. Bei diesem Song ist das tatsächlich nicht so, da der Wechsel zu 80 BPM sehr plötzlich kommt, aber es Danny baut oft über 20 BPM aus und das fällt einem garnicht auf. Sehr spannend :)

Did you remove the guitars from the original track?
I tuned the low E down to B but it doesn’t sound right when I hit the 3rd fret during intro. What’s wrong with me?
Depends on the guitar. Some guitars are more prone to poor intonation. If you just detune one string and the gauge is not correct it could sound very wrong. Maybe try a thicker gauge or intonate your guitar :)
Are there strokes on tuned down over all the limits 6th string in the beginning?

Noob here, what do the X’s mean on the tabs
While I appreciate very much you transcribing the songs I do notice your digital tone as compared to Adam's very minimalistic analog approach varies greatly, not sure why you're using digital distortion other than to keep the noise down because you're in an apartment. This is why im not a big fan of the mic-less approach via any type of modelling or DSP.
