I have last version of this tv (the QN900B) 75". I couldn't be happier! I love the design, and it was the first time a tv had actually 4 HDMI 2.1 ports! For my gaming, this was exactly what i wanted. The 8K wasn't the first thing on my mind when i bought this tv. It was really more all the other features like ALLM and VRR. It was completely promoted as a gaming tv and it did not disappoint. It gets very bright indeed! So be sure to be in a well lit room! I find that i need to dial down the brightness quite a lot! Even though i have a big bright room. Also, the tv is even more beautiful when you hang it on a wall, something i did immediately! The One Connect box is also really nice and easy to hide somewhere in a cabinet. No more visible wires and easy access. All of this was more important to me than the 8K aspect. Though other models also have a one connect box (and SOME of the other features i mentioned.) I really fell in love with the design of this tv. After all, it's there on the wall/cabinet all the time, right in your face. So you want something nice to look at!
Just picked up this one too! Looking forward to delivery next week. I’m gonna hook up my ROG Ally + XG Mobile dock to this immediately
@@shonen84 I'm really really happy with mine! The one connect box is also pretty sweet to be honest! You can put it away somewhere (though i would recommend some ventilation because it does get pretty hot!) But it's nice to have pretty much everything you need for gaming feature wise! 🙂
@@drdelatorre9201 Oh no, i don't experience any lag at all! I have a PS5 and Series X hooked up on this beast of a tv and everything works very smoothly and responsive!
Our 85" 800B is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
Its my first sight unseen TV purchase . We're excited. I hope it's good!
Best buy beat Amazon price, plus we'll get $130 back in gift certs for Christmas goodies.
Also with best buy pro membership, 2 yr warranty comes free with everything I buy. Bonus!
@@DBLCreations we set up the box on the stand. It's out of sight anyway and we don't change sources much. The TV has been great, although I had to fiddle around quite a lot with the picture settings. For some reason, Samsung calibration is never pleasing to my eye. Panasonic and LG are more my preference in terms of color calibration. Gaming has been great, although there is some typical VA smearing present. You only notice it when comparing to an OLED. Haloing is also present, but never distractingly so (like in subtitles) and on the contrary, it happens in appropriate picture conditions (large bright highlights in a darker scene). Input lag is very good, pc desktop use is perfectly possible. I've played Overwatch on this with no issue. Overall I'm very happy, but I'm glad I didn't pay full retail price. No TV is perfect and neither is this one, but I'm very pleased!
Actually, I disagree! The 65 in tv in this model is still a fantastic screen and the difference is quite noticeable from other 4k tvs! Don't necessarily need to go larger to see the high quality, as the 65 is the minimum screen size you'd want to benefit from the higher resolution.
Yea and larger the screen the harder for the image to be as good. I know it’s got better but In the past the larger screens would show the defects more in image quality.
Of course, the ideal screen size for you will depend on your individual preferences and viewing habits. If you sit close to the TV, a 65-inch screen may be sufficient to enjoy the benefits of 8K resolution. However, if you sit further away, a larger screen will be better for maximizing the viewing experience.
I never understood the argument that you need a bigger screen with 8k, as the purpose of 8k and higher resolution is that you can sit close to the screen while still seeing perfect sharp details without seeing individual pixels. 8k is also applied in virtual reality headsets, and those screens are even smaller, but as its pixel density is high, it delivers high quality images even in VR.
These won't have the higher resolution look outside PC mode. There's dithering all over.
I just got the cu8000 85 and it’s good for our living room.
Great review Brian. I already have the s95b 55 inch tv and it's hard to imagine the picture being any better. But, I'm thinking of going up to the 65 inch s95c. I've read THIS is the tv to get over a 65 inch qn900c 8k. I only watch tv in the evening in a dimly lit room. No gaming at all. For some reason I like the idea of having an 8k tv but is it really worth having in the 65 inch model? I just want the very best picture that I can get!
Just picked up a store demo 65QN900B, its predecessor. Steep, steep discount. We have the exact same IKEA TV cabinet, so judging from your video, it will look great in our living room 😊
How do you like the television?
Yeah lol bro is more concerned about his cabinet 😂
Looks great.
Definitely don't care about Dolby Vision . I find it distracting on dimmer Tvs .
On brighter Tvs it's not that necessary over 1500 nits. This TV tested in the 2000 to 2200 nits range.
Good enough! 😁
We're actually getting the 800B which is even BRIGHTER 🔆
Brian, the QN900c 65 inch is on sale at a great price through Samsung Financing. As for my previous question, this tv in 65 inch or the 65 inch s95c? dimly lit viewing only.
Saw a 65” QN800C today @ a local store. It was Dazzling and Mesmerizing! Is this even better??
Yes
this exact model and size prize at 4.2k...I think it's worth it due to upscaling matter compare to qn95c...
The covered flower looks like a photo I took. 😂
I have an LG G1 brightness has never been an issue!!! colors always Great!!! how ever once you get over a 55" in 4k pixel density thing's like noticing individual Pixels start becoming clear..! if I start looking for another TV it will be one of these simply because I will only go above 55" if the TV is in 8k for now I am still spoiled with my Oled which Value has also gone up which tells you something
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
How's that upscaling for productivity work from the couch, say Google Docs and Google Slides? I have a narrow room and consider a disproportionately large TV for chilling by YT, series, the odd sim racing session and productivity, especially when there's a business guest. A curved monitor (also getting that, my laptop has been my largest screen for going on 20 years) is much less convenient for co-work I guess.
Or, would I be running Google Slides directly in 8K from a powerful PC? I wonder what laptops manage that... I guess that would take a 15 meter HMDI cable to get around the room...
4k @ 120/144Hz is so smooth, it would make one want 8k @ 120/144Hz once it is here. Wish next gen HDMI/DP/TB was already here. P.S. I'm a PC user/content creator/gamer, so for me 8k is great and immersive. Currently use S95B.
Same. Also using an s95b. Awesomeness
Are the hdmi ports 48gb or 40?
Did you test the Game of Thrones S8E3 scene?
Brian Tong doesn't age. I remember his prizefight videos from cnet.
👀🤷🏻♂️😂
im interested in an 8k tv..... once they have wifi 7... maybe by then the affordability will be a little better and certainly the wireless will be nicely faster
Wifi 7 will be overkill for a decade or more! New homes are barely installed with cat 6. Heck 10gigs will be overkill for a decade too!
8K TVs are also relatively new and expensive, but they're becoming more affordable as the technology matures. By the time Wi-Fi 7 is widely available, 8K TVs may be more affordable as well.
Epic
Ok now....buy the 900c while it's on sale OR wait a year for the 900D with the updated processer to go on sale at a discount?
Do you HAVE to use the soundbar? Can you experience burn in with this TV?
No. Burn in used to be a huge issue with Oled it no longer is.
It appears 2023 Samsung 900C 8k here is considered by most the Best Picture!
But It appears 2023 Sony 4k by most the Best Picture!
Both actually around the same price.
Tf u talking about lol
That spiderman frame 14:47 is 3D like, the most i have seen.
My question is do the brightness hurt your eyes.. When I saw it in person it was very bright almost too bright.. How is the contrast adjustment on this screen?
You can adjust brightness
👍👍
In have 85 best tv 🎉❤
I will be going back to 8K Neo QLED after i sold my S90C QD-OLED. I have tried LG and Sony WOLEDs too. They all didn't impressed me like that Mini LED does
What exactly did you find to be better on the mini led tv? The colors on the qd oleds are second to none.
Having the 900B 75 for some time now so i can comfortably say... Unparalleled brightness with awesome picture quality overall, and that 8K does make a difference compared to 4k... The C isn't a big upgrade... So I'm not buying
How does this tv compare to the Sony x95l ? Sony seems very good at doing better with less until it comes to their processor.
This TV is excellent, but when you're talking about the A95L, it's literally the crème de la crème and nothing can top not only OLED, but Sony's processing specifically with their OLED panel when we're talking image quality.
But what about brightness??
@@ginakerry2588 I have a 6 year old Samsung . Any tv from today the cheapest to the most expensive will b brighter than what I’ve got now and its brightness is just fine . I just want a newer tv a little bigger than my 82 . I sometimes c reflections in my 82 inch Samsung but again I think any new tv will b better . The Samsung has 8K which gives you future proof but the Sony I hear people say looks good and even better in some cases I think due to the processor even having fewer local dimming Zones . Just wanted feedback from people that have seen them . I’ve only seen the Samsung .
FYI, my Samsung 75 8K QN900 lasted only 2 and 6 months I would not recommend 8K due to the fact that some of the components are not reliable at all. I went back to 4K instead
If you purchased 4-year extended warranty and they can’t fix it, they give you full refund or give you a replacement for free. For expensive items, I always get extended warranty.
What's the power consumption on that gonna be like? 😬
The previous model has an Energy Guide tag that reads $51 per year.
This one says $40 on the tag
Depends which size you get.
$51 on 85"
$41 on 65"
Who buys this expensive of a TV and doesn’t use an external sound system!!
That's what I've always Saif 😂😂
People like me who live in an appartment and respect our neighbors.
70 watts is plenty when your neighbor is 10 feet away.
As a TV, this Tv is no better than 4k. There's dithering patern all through the OS. Only in PC mode do you get true 8k.
Won't you get upscaling ?
$7999 today, $1500 in a ywar. Just buy QN900B.
Cool stuff. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Not sure a 8k TV makes sense rn especially when HD is the standard and 4k is not even fully available.
It has an ai upscaling processor which converts video to 8k
I agree that 8K TVs are not yet a necessity for most people. HD is still the most common resolution for TV broadcasts and streaming services, and even 4K is not yet widely adopted. While 8K TVs offer superior picture quality, they are also much more expensive than their 4K counterparts.
Not today! Cha-ching !
Black Friday sale!
In Australia the 85 inch is $10,995
😬🤷🏻♂️
@briantong Haha sorry man, didn't mean to sound rude or anything, my brain was just thinking "Dang, inflation be damned"
Gahh dammm
It's only like 5500 in the US
@ballamaniac6984 Even with conversion, that's still $2000 less than my country
LG it is...
Why is that
Why buy an 8k tv with no 8k programming??
Watch what I talk about in the video...8K upscaling matters from 4K if you are investing in a TV this size. 8K content will eventually get there, but with everything in 4K if you want a BIG big screen, you'll want an TV that has very good 8K upscaling for that 4K content.
The extra crisp image is nice. They have upscales built in so 4k content really does look quite a bit more crisp.
Such a tired and boring question.
If there is nothing to draw demand for something, i.e. no displays, then nobody will every request 8k content.
This applied to EDTV, 720P, 1080P, 3D, and 4K. 720P and 1080P TVs enhanced SD content. 4K Displays greatly enhanced 720/1080P content. The same applies to 8K.
The same concept also applies to routers. WhY bUy A nEw RoUtEr WiTh No CliEnTs? They're coming...
Ditto 3G/4G/5G/5GUWB phones.
No matter how good Samsung TVs get, I’ll never choose one over another brand as long as they don’t support Dolby Vision.
Why not get one? Its a beauty
