- In this video, I show how to make a ping pong paddle. In this case, it's a real table tennis racket using a premade blade and rubbers. I've only ever used cheapo paddles, so this was a mind-blowing experience using a real table tennis bat. Sure, this is the cheapest version of a "pro" racket, but I had no idea how different the experience would be. This is the tenth in a series of 100 paddles I plan to make. Hey Adam, most of these racket out there has the name of famous players that they play with it. you can simply name it under your name like Adam Cowling or A. Cowling.
Cool!
Thanks!
I need to get one
After a period of time, will you be able to peel off the rubber from the blade without damaging it? You used an spray-type adhesivde that seems rather peculiar.
I only applied the spray adhesive to the rubber side, so it releases without damaging the blade if you try to peel it off. If you apply this adhesive to the blade and the rubber, let it sit for 3 mins, then put them together, it is a permanent stick. It's not as good as using real table tennis glue, but it works well enough here since this is a cheap solution.
Hi, Can I have the link for the rubber, paddle and glue please . Thank you
I've added links to the video description. Thanks for watching.
PRO TIP: BETTER APPLY SOME EDGE TAPE ON THE PADDLE BETWEEN THE RUBBERS
edge tape doesn't work for everybody
What glue spray it was..?
I left a link to it in the description. Its spray adhesive from Harbor Freight. The 3M brand makes a similar product but I'm not sure which one.
For leisure the racket is ok, but it is not suitable for competition because of the glue, the use of this glue is illegal for competitions.
Absolutely. If someone wants to play competitively they should invest in the proper glue. I plan to eventually get some and test it out.
