Our First Impressions of Vanlife in Portugal

- Van life is probably the best way to explore Portugal so with that in mind, we rented a fully converted van with the goal to drive it from Porto to Lisbon. We also took my parents all who came to join us for this trip all the way from Canada. They also got a van.

From the city of Porto, we drove to the countryside and did our first stop at Quinta do Monte Travesso which is a stunning family owned vineyard in the famous Douro Valley. But before making dinner and settling down for the night we of course went on a little wine tour.
After our first ever night of sleep in a van, which was great, we left the winery and headed to the Bussaco Palace, which was built and used by the last king of Portugal before being turned into a five star hotel. We of course didn't stay there as we are now van lifers but we did stop for lunch for a 5 course meal and it was exquisite to say the least.
After a few hours of driving through small little Portuguese towns, we finally made it to the coast. For our second life in our van, we parked right by the beach, enjoyed a nice family meal and walk on the sand while watching sunset.
