Ive cut 70 bushel wheat in a field in the 1980's but that was 37, or 38 years ago. It was planred on what we in the south called good sandy loam Cotton ground

I had two Massey Combines in life A MF 410 with a standard spreader and a MF 550 WITH A CHOPPER I ALWAYS PREFERED THE CHOPPER especially on bean stubble. But we only ran 15 foot headers our winter wheat planting entailed using a disk and a seed bed conditioner/ doall i have a friend who raises rice, soybeans, and corn
Uses nothing but a spreader 30 and 35 foot headers does not use a chopper says it too costly maintenance wise.. rice is a severely abrasive crop and due to the thinner metals used today rice can end the life of a combine in 5 years or less..
