- This is NOT really a review (since I think everyone's already familiar with S2+)
It's more just showcasing Convoy new anticipated S2+ Titanium (and others)
Actually I've had this since it was released, but I was waiting for the short tube.
I'm planning to "build" the S2+ Copper. I might post another video.

Great video! Mixing and matching S2 parts is really fun. I've got a copper S2 that I've taken the coating off of so that it can patina purplish and I put a black Al short tube on it. I've got some other Al short tubes that I like to mix in as well.

Why didn't you like the Ti polished version?
I"m planning to buy it when Simon releases the new 17mm driver for the B35AM and initially I was going with the stonewashed version, but now I'm considering the polished version instead, I'm also disappointed Simon used the rubber button, he should have used the metal button instead like on the T3.
Oh.. I like 'em ALL 😅 I'm just saying that I prefer the SW. What made you changed your mind? Or you could also get the host version. I think Convoy is the only few that sell flashlight as a host, a great option for modders.
100% agree on the button. Fortunately it's an easy/cheap mod. That's the first thing that I "modded". Followed by the TIR, gitd, then the short tube. Thanks for watching, and appreciate the feedback 🍻
@@urbandadcarry I usually tent to avoid shiny things but I was hoping the SW would be darker. When it comes the time I'll most likely order the SW anyway.
I'm gonna be ordering it as host since Simon is unlikely to offer it the way I want it already built. Initially I was gonna build it with the XHP50.3 HI and 6V4A boost driver, but as I was about to place the order Simon announced the 17mm boost driver for the B35AM/719A, so now I'm waiting again. I. already have the SW host, 18350 tube, 6V4A driver, XHP50.3 HI emitter and TIRs in the cart, just waiting for the new driver.
My EDC 18350 S2+ runs a 519A 4500K DD and 30 degree TIR, currently running the stock 5A driver but the new buck driver should be arriving this week.
Super agree, the pic on Simon's post looks darker/nicer. I'm even thinking of doing a black oil finish, but still not really sure how, lol. Wow, enjoy your build, sounds really fun. pls share with us (are you on instagram by any chance? or r/flashlight?).
@@urbandadcarry So, after all this time EDCing my Ti S2+ 719A, I love the tint, but max output is disappointing. Now I'm waiting on Simon again to release the B35AM in 5000K to try it, I hope it will make up for it. Someone tested the 719A at only 650 lumens with the 18350 battery, I don't run on max often but whenever I need it it should be there you know.
I was actually considering just getting the XHP50.3 HI R70 for the extra output, even if ran at only 2A max.

I really like this type of convoy flashlight. I usually bring the convoy s2+ as an EDC, but it's a regular type.

just ordered a Micro arc oxidation version, cant wait to mod it.
That's the only aluminum version that I'm interested in. Ionly have 1 MAO so far (from another brand), I quite like it. What's your plan? Have fun, and please update us with the result. Thanks for watching!
@@urbandadcarry nothing special, just the typical switch button replacements and ring handle maybe, just plan to leave it in my pocket/edc bag. Getting the nichia 519a version also for the high CRI. I could use it for emergency situations on shoots.

I've been thinking on getting a 519a 18350 S2+ as a warmer pocket flashlight with a bias to throw, and also to upgrade-tinker later on. Do you think it's a good idea?

One more question: do you think the 18350 S2+ will accept a 36mm button top battery? The difference with the flat top is just 1mm.
@@TheGrenadier97 sorry for the late reply, keep forgetting to measure my batteries. but it has dual spring, so I think it should be ok. exp if it's only 1 mm difference.

The finish on the smooth titanium is not as quality as the stonewashed, which is polished by the media.
The smooth edition has burrs at one end of the knurling on both my examples.
The stonewashed is very nice.
I added metal switch covers and ring magnets to the tail caps.
Hm I thought it's just me. I also think the finish is better on the SW. The knurlings are more sharp, but that's to be expected. The appearance/color and the feel/weight make it kinda feel like raw aluminum. It's also a bit too bling/shiny for my taste (not too bad if it's just a small part/accent), I might sand it down a bit to make it more satin like the metal switch. Or I might "anodize" it.
I was thinking of getting the metal/magnet button ring, but ti/cu won't stick to magnet, and I use a clip on my alu/brass which doesn't work/fit with the ring.

Nice selections of lights sir. Great video too. Thinking of getting the polish version but cannot decide on Nichia 519a or Sft40😂. Where can i get a brass short tube? Looks cool.
Thanks for the kind words. I had the same dilemma, but I'm a sucker for rosy tint, so I prioritized on the 519a. The next one gonna be SFT40/Osram W1. Brass short-tube can't be used with the new models with square cut threads. It's hard to find anymore anyways.. thank you for watching!

Honestly this 3500k is probably nicer to use, but I think the dedomed would be rosier/prettier.
I'm just worried about messing up the led.. 😅

Always wanted to have Convoy S2+ but I can't justify its size/shape. I hope somebody will make 16340 body for it (not 18350) so it will look slimmer on the center. #gawindo

The ugly truth about special metals is they don't dissipate heat well & are alot heavier.
What I’ve read is that is true about titanium, but that copper and brass dissipate better than aluminum.
