I used to go to Pod in the late 70s Sammy miller mad Max Gene Snow. Als gasser. The needle Dave Lee Travis. Etc. Loved it.

Happens every time you get a clown in the production suite who doesn’t understand the subject matter being created and is more interested in their artistic statement. Great for armchair TV but aggravating for the real petrol heads. At least the video was good.

For the uninitiated. A drag race track surface is not anything like normal tarmac. it is sprayed to get traction. If you ever get a chance to walk a track the traction glue will literally try to rip your trainers from your feet. Hence top fuelers massive tyre contortion on acceleration.plus the grip it delivers
Kevin Archer That's what happens when when you take 11,000 horsepower and hook it to a 16 inch wide tire with 4-6 pounds of air pressure!!! Been a drag racing fan since 1965.

Speaking of altereds... I really honestly wish that somebody would bring fuel altereds back as an actual competition class, like the nostalgia funny car stuff. I would watch that on TV if the NHRA did, with the nostalgia-type rules. Seeing those guys manhandle such a wild and untamed beast is one of my favorite things in life. Fuel Altereds Forever.
