When you are a professional rugby player and you've got this absolutely over the top set piece move you want to execute at the highest level of rugby, the Barbarians is the team to join.

@@awinbisa I think we must understand that today, this would be extremely dangerous. Back then it was normal size folks who were well trained. Today this kind of tackles could be more dangerous than back then. it's not a matter of being a man, it's a matter of not putting players in a serious danger for no reason. And btw, it's just not a legal tackle, back then, now and forever.
The barbarians are the equivalent of a pro Sunday league team
The barbarians are a great asset to the game because they have the freedom to play as they desire and take risks. They show us how beautiful the game can be. I dont really like the way it is trending with rush defences ruining the spectacle of the game.
Barbarians always make for some fun rugby.

Is it a club or what?
Its a club that is by invitation only. They play exhibition matches for fun. They normally play against 1 international team a year. The international side uses the game as a warm up and the Barbarians are there to just have fun. They don't buy or sign any players so for every game they send out invites to professional players all over the world to come and play for them. They will normally pick players that weren't picked for their own national side so they can get to play an international side and so they might be able to prove to the selectors they should be picked. Because they play for fun they always try something weird and different and they don't really care about winning, they just try to play exciting rugby. They're really fun to watch but they don't play many games in a year.
