Hi Andrea, whats that little tool you used to roll your hair with? I couldn’t find it in the description, my hair texture is pretty similar, its just till my hips and it still frizzes 😭 I ordered some curl cream, and mousse, and while I wait, I made some DIY leave in conditioner, but I’m realizing that my hair just eats more product since its longer, but it separates when I brush, I’m so confused honestly. Maybe I could try the rolling technique next time, so I’m curious to know what you used.

It’s surprising how many people in the comments don’t understand that everyone’s hair is different, meaning, everyone will have a vastly different hair-care routine because it’s what works best for them. Y’all are too much.

Except finger coiling your entire head will make your hair a different texture, so will doing that along with loading her hair with many products.
Especially with gel

@@N08R76H it won't. If she had straight hair like you're claiming, her hair wouldn't stay curly from finger coiling. In fact they would instantly fall out. What she's doing is something called definition all wavy amd curly girls do this, clearly you wouldn't understand.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with color analysis, but you definitely look like a "winter" season (same as me), which means you look best in cool toned colors like black, grey, true white, pink, purple, navy blue, blue red, silver, etc. Basically, you look great in the colors in the video. 🤍

i really appreciate this video! i have the same “hair pattern” as you, but my hair actually looks and behaves nothing like yours- mine is very fine yet very dense, the waves are super “fragile” and would get stretched out and lose their shape easily if i brushed it through like you did at the end. yours came out looking amazing though! i love that everyone has super unique hair and what works for one person would look totally different on another person even with the same “curl pattern”
Omg same! I struggle so kuch to manage my hair because the waves hardly stay, but it's really NOT straight :(
maybe u should try the finger coil method they did!! because that extra step really helps keep the curl sleek and uniform so when it’s brushed out it’s nice. but i’m pretty sure it gets frizzy after a few hours (i’ve done this before so ik it does unfortunately😅) so add a little oil

Me too!! My hair is THICC but fine!! My curls lose their shape after one nights sleep so I honestly get imposter syndrome until my next wash day 🤣 but my hair is definitely not straight. Birth control changed my hair from type 1 to 2a-2b so the transition from really low maintenance to having bad hair days has been a struggle lol. But I've used Not Your Mother's curl line since I first started doing a curl routine and I love itttt. I feel like all the other products I've tried have been too heavy and creamy, much more for type 3+ hair types. When my hair gets longer, I plan to try the finger curl method. Also if you're like me and diffusers never give you a good result, do not despair 🤣 my hair never looks good after using a diffuser. My flyaways say "hello😀" and I lose all pattern. It just goes full bed head, which is incredibly disappointing after all the effort lol. We're all still learning. I'm glad to be part of this group of people. It's a good time we're living in for curly girls

I havd a magical hair, when i take shower i let it dry naturally and it gives me beautiful curls.
Second day: the curls become more wide and the hair starts to straighten by itself.
Literally same like I don't know how am I suppose to style it the next day

Maybe try to wet it every day and then crunch it. You don't have to wet it extremely just slightly by putting some water on it. Maybe also try sleeping with hairstyles that support wavy/curly hair. I always make a braid and put in a bun.
You can try few budget friendly wavy/curl products if you can. It really helps, you just need to invest like a bit of time and patience that's it. Trust me I had really done a lot of search and finally started using like just basics. And it's great like my hair are getting really fine too.✨

I love that you brush or comb out your waves in the videos I have watched. I think its beautiful and your hair would be beautiful without the comb out but it is nice to know you can do either, its what make you happy that counts!

Wait that’s exactly how my hair looks when it’s wet. Except sometimes only parts of it dry curly/wavy but my hair has never been pin straight, not in years and I only recently found my hair responds well to scrunching. So yes I found out a couple days ago I have wavy hair.

Or it’s just because when you style your hair a certain way when it’s wet, that’s how it dries. Your hair isn’t curly unless it curls without you doing a bunch of stuff to it. I have pencil straight hair but when I do this my hair dries curly, that doesn’t mean I have curly hair.
I've always had straight hair and a few years ago the whole back side of my hair turned wavy. I thought it was going to sleep with wet hair and it scrunching up while I sleep but nope I've let it air dry and tried to brush it straight while it's drying. If I don't brush it while it's drying it will be extra wavy almost curly IN THE BACK. Lol like fu$ck me right 😂 it couldn't be my whole head just the back. Stick straight in the front and wavy in the back it looks so stupid lol.
same, and i never understood why my hair would look so puffy when i brushed it dry (hence why i stopped doing it) and because of tiktok and all i realized they might actually be wavy

I have a similar hair type. Wish I had learned earlier that styling hair after washing and decreasing frizz (either emphasizing texture or straightening) in the drying process meant everything until the next wash!

This is how the hairdresser showed me how to curl my daughters unruly frizzy hair many years ago to wash it and curl it around by hand and leave it to dry it always came out so nice

My 2a hair routine - blow dry it straight and then leave it overnight and in the morning it turns into beautiful waves that require no effort
tbh i have all the products, equipments AND knowledge enough to take care of my 2A/2B hair right, but my biggest enemy throughout this whole process is finger rolling my WAIST length hair 😭😂😂

I have the same hair type and over the years the waves have simply stopped *waving* lol. The roots are super wavy but a frizzy waves. I have no idea what products to use without weighing my hair down. Ugh I don’t even know where to start 😭
Drug store brands like shea moisture are generally gonna be too heavy and you have to invest in more expensive products 😭. I found the giovani deep moisture line a good compromise for price and use innersense foam rather than a gel for softer waves (but giovanni Giannini gel is good). With light products I have to use a leave in moisturiser or my hair becomes frizzy (apparently curls blueberry bliss is good).
Leaving my hair soaking wet or scrunching my hair too much actually destroys my waves and creates frizz. I can't use the technique in the video either as it's not how my hair waves.
Swavy curly girl Courtney is a great channel to check out for products and techniques :) you may need to improvise to find techniques that work best for you

She’s not using a heated curler, just twirling it for a more polished wavy effect. Not everyone’s hair is going to be perfectly this or that if they are they just fortunate. My hair is like this but leans toward straight more, so I either let it air dry into waves after products applied or blow dry it straight. That’s why it’s called styling.

If you’ve got wavy/curly hair, I’d only brush it when it’s wet if possible - otherwise it’s likely to frizz up. If that doesn’t work, I’d say you probably do need more moisture, but I’d look it up first before quoting me on that because I’m no expert
Don’t brush it when your done showering but do it in the shower
