    Many years ago, I knew a lead guitar player who was really good and he wanted to play on my guitar for a change. Mind you, I was always more interesting in rhythm and tailored my guitar according to that. He was kinda devastated that he can't get a single solo straight because of my string tension and "regular" action instead of "stupidly low action." When I used his guitar instead, my limited lead playing felt like it it worked effortless like butter. From then on I appreciated the school of hard knox that I involuntarily put myself through. If you want to get more results playing, raise the action and increase string tension. When you get used to that, drop tension and action again for some suddenly impressive results :) That's why it pays to keep on doing it the hard way.

    As a pianist, I can say that's roughly what I expected it to sound like: a muted guitar. From what I've gathered (and I could be wrong about this,) the piano strings are a bit thicker and thus a bit harder to control, yet at the end, you get a muted version of the guitar sound, thanks to the acoustic hole. As for the people commenting about how painful it was to watch, I personally didn't get that out of it. The piano he mutilated had seen better days, and served a good purpose here. Great vid dude!

    The piano strings sound great! I would love to hear it played without all that tapping though. I’m sure that’s your unique style but it would be nice to hear it played with just strumming, regular guitar picking etc. I couldn’t get a good feel for if this is something I should try because your guitar playing is very percussive.

      @Mark Pozsar you're right, pros recommend to change once every month to keep the strings fresh and best sounding as possible. Just look at any number of guitar tutorials, Andrew foy says it in his q+as. Please do your research lol.

    • @abhishekdey2579
      @abhishekdey2579 Před 3 lety +1

      @Saranoth25 don't worry, you're answer is pretty spot on for a person who's learning guitar, changing strings often isn't a necessity, but if you can change them once every month or two please do.

    • @snottyboy9983
      @snottyboy9983 Před 3 lety +2

      @@abhishekdey2579 I just change them once the coating wears off, which depending on the strings can be more than a year.
