    I bought one online and received a fake Chinesium weber like yours. Yup they got me good. On the bright side though i did find an original weber at the pull and pay yard on a few months back on a 87 b2200 so will freshen it up and ride again.

    In Europe you can find some weber clones with minor differences from original carbs, manufactored in Poland under weber licence. They are cheap and better than chinese clones.

    Good video. My own Weber (installed 2005) is genuine Weber. Do the clone carburetors have the same non-flat adapters and have the need to open up the notch for clearance of the PCV hose?

    MazdaMitch, glad you posted this video alot of help, i didn’t know that there are clones out their, I was just bout to buy one from parts geek for my Nissan 720 a 32/36 but they where out of stock, so as you said in the video only two companies carry the real webers, so the one I saw from partsgeek is prob a clone?

    • @MazdaMitch

    Mitch, In your opinion is it completely necessary to change out the factory carb? Or can these be rebuilt to retain the factory look even if you were to bypass the smog related garbage on them?
    Or can the factory carbs just not be rebuilt to any decent standard?

    • @MazdaMitch
      @MazdaMitch  Před rokem +1

      Q. Is it completely necessary to change out the factory carb?
      A.Not if yours is working correctly. The weber is the best most trouble free replacement for these carbs. Gaining in horsepower, and also giving you fuel economy.
      Can these be rebuilt to retain the factory look even if you were to bypass the smog related garbage on them?
      A. You can remove stuff and fake it out but it will not pass smog. When you delete all the solenoids and other emissions mess off the stock carb, it will run rich.
      Some do it for a while to get read to swap to a weber.
      Q.Can the factory carbs just not be rebuilt to any decent standard?
      A. I have rebuilt a factory carb twice and the rebuild doesn't cover everything on the carb.
      Other things on the carb eventually get fouled up and deteriorated to the point that the carb was a hassle. You need to know I have had one of my trucks since 1988 since it was new. The carb was just that old. The weber is the best trouble free replacement.

      @@MazdaMitch ok, thank you. I checked out the two suppliers and its only around 400 dollars brand new for a weber, so I guess that is the better route anyhow.
      I would prefer to retain the factory look with the air cleaner, maybe I can make the air cleaner fit the weber.
      Thanks for the info.

    So are you saying the original weber carburetor is dark like that one you are showing and the shiny one is a clone? I paid almost $400 for my weber. There are no stickers, white choke, blue paint dot, weber stamped in it and says made in Spain. But my 32/36 weber isn't dark like that one but its not shiny either. What do you think? And it was in a recline weber box with conversion kit/studs/plates everything that comes with the carburetor.

    • @MazdaMitch
      @MazdaMitch  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It's just an older carburetor that is used Don't focus on the tent of it that much The other markings that I go over are what you should be looking for.

    • @MazdaMitch
      @MazdaMitch  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You can see in this video where we install a brand new one that it's new in color but it's not shiny in color. czcams.com/video/YGww9NhyGbA/video.htmlsi=vdUljkQ_uHsW-1v5

      I watched your weber install video like you advised me to do. I'm sure I have a true weber carburetor. There is something I didn't do when I installed the plates and gaskets that was put high-tech on. I'm going to take it off and reinstall it with high-tech. Thanks again

    • @MazdaMitch
