Flew Thai from Krabi back to Bangkok on a A330-300 fully loaded. Service was impeccable and included a decent snack and desert! Flew their low cost airline Thai Smile from Don Mueang Bangkok to Phuket and again the service was excellent. Flight was on time, and yummy free snack was served 20 min into the flight. Yet to experience long haul! Great video as always!

It depends on Circumstance of the flight. If you fly on Late night flight, Over night red-eyes flight, off course there are nothing special about services. Most ppl will sleep and they will serve easy Breakfast. For BKK - SIN is only 2 hours, I am sure crew will be so busy, especially If it was a full flight. I flew on SQ BKK - SIN - BKK my tray was also taken away just before landing too. For me TG in economy class is still my most favorite.

I have actually been in economy for 13 hours 40 minutes in China Southerns 777 from Guangzhou to SFO. The legroom was pretty bad at 79 cm.For me atleast. Thank fully the Return was on SQ which was pretty satisfactory with a bulkhead window seat.Loved the video Dan!

I remember they were having one of the most spacious economy class seats (84cm)

I only flew with CX, Cathay Pacific from LHR to HKG. 12 hours. As for seats... I was given a place at the very end of the Triple Seven. I thought I was a bad child and I was given the last row as a punishment. So I sat there. The meal was forgetable... not bad but not good either. What is very surprising is that they gave some ice-cream on economy class.

I flew on the Asiana a350 about a month ago from Lax-Icn. There was a decent amount of leg room and comfortable for economy class.

Part of the reason Dan is becos they have been cutting costs like crazy over the last few years. Like yourself I love Thai and over the last 2 decades flew them many times from SIN to BKK and even a few times on long haul to Zurich ...Rome and Frankfurt . I must say they are usually pretty good but yeah I see cost cutting and low morale being the main issue with the airline recently...
in thai airways, 10 hrs in economy is not a big problem...
I've flown Thai twice in Economy, from Hanoi-Bangkok (777-200) and Bangkok-Delhi (777-300ER) and thought the service was great both times.
I'm still a Singapore Airlines guy till I die.

Flying them next week. Hoping they'll be OK. At an average height of 186cm I flew Singapore Airlines for the first time last year and can honestly say it was the worst airline I've ever flown which surprised me.

Hey Dan!Nice detailed review,the cabin actually looks good with that seat colour,legroom is quite tight not good for flying to European routes,I flew their 777-200 on two hour sector on DAC-BKK-DAC and the legroom was good enough however the ife box hampered my legroom.Hope to see you fly Biman Bangladesh specially on the brand new 787

Bangkok airport is hot and sticky if you land late at night. They must turn off aircon after certain hours? i found thai airlines are ordinary even with their business class.

To a lesser extent you could also include Malaysia Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Vietnam Air as good airlines in South East Asia. Bamboo Airways also looks amazing and will hopefully go on to do great things. Also the most useful airline in the region AirAsia. One of the best low cost airlines out there IMHO.
That exact same thing happen to me. I live in the United States, but every year in the summer I go to visit my relatives in India. I fly with Emirates so there’s a layover in Dubai, and this year we were flying back from Kochi-Dubai-Seattle, (sometimes we stay in Dubai to visit more people) and I was astounded by checking Flightradar24 right before boarding to Seattle that it was the same aircraft (A6-ECE) I believe, a 777-300ER. I was amazed and put it on my Instagram story, because it was a one in million chance, but here it is happening to you!

As a Thai, I appreciate your review. I haven't been on TG for a long time purely because coming from AKL, where I live, other airlines are cheaper...and better. I also find TG crew treats non-Thais better than the Thais, but that might have changed. Personally, i'm not going to use TG unless the price comes down; and they get better plane to and from AKL. You should try Air NZ next time. It's a pretty good airline. Thanks!

After visiting both airports in Tokyo, I think Haneda is much better than Narita. Haneda has fewer passengers, but better facilities. However, Narita does not have that good facility and too crowded.
You should try Garuda Indonesia, as a real 5 star airline in south east Asia with 5times in a row world winning the best cabin crew.

Dan, Just watched this video after flying Asiana A380 from BKK to ICN. About to board Asiana A350 in economy from ICN to SEA. 380 had 33" pitch; 350 has 32" pitch. Don't forget to include Asiana and KAL in your economy comparisons! Frankly, Thai looked disappointing, especially pitch. Would help if you could include exact pitch in economy. Thx
