A combined 53,000 career receiving yards and 450 receiving TDs between Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens and Tim Brown.
And Andre Rison has a few of those on his resume, too.
Back then when there was a battle of the bay in NFL... TO was phenomenal 🔥💪
We still got Tampa Bay vs Green Bay
Tim Brown was better
I remember this game clearly. The OAK fans were absolutely rowdy to the max during this game. Owens and Brown put on an absolute clinic.
Love this era of NFL!
Smasmouth era am I wrong ? Before it got soft
@@packersauburneric3625 the Blitz era, well in video game terms lol
Agreed. 90s decade football going into this era was great football. Lots of legends and very physical. I miss it.
Thank you for older, forgotten games like this NFL Throwback
this is sick !! us Raiders fan can only see our team good in replays . thank you 👍🏼👏🏽
San Francisco 49ers Against Los Angeles Raiders Last Meeting In 1991 Thanks For Uploading
Even though the 49ers lost, it was cool to go back and see this one. The "Battle of the Bay" games in 2000, and 2002 had an energy between both fan bases that really hasn't been around since that time for various reasons I'm sure. Back then it was really like a blood-feud between Raiders and 49ers fans. Seeing a lot of old faces like Owens, Garcia, Garner, B. Young, Norton, and others brings back interesting memories due to the 49ers being in a transitional period following the glory days. Credit for Mariucci for getting the team back on track following the fallout of the 1999 season when it all went south. Took some time, but he had the squad back near the top in 2001, and 2002.
The 49ers did win the 2002 battle of the bay and 2006
What a time man as a 49er fan 2000 was T.O. Coming out year
I remember being sick to my stomach and started walking out even b4 the Richey kick at 6:21 in OT...only for it to be blocked! Easily one the craziest regular season games I have ever been too...HOFrs on both sides of the ball for BOTH teams. This yr 2000 team probably RAIDERS best in the last 30yrs...yes even better than 2016!
A real NFL throwback! Miss the loud grunts and smash mouth football and this was the best days of the NFL even though I still love the game
Who would've thought Charlie Garner and Jerry Rice would go on to join the Raiders next season.
That Raiders run from 2000-2002 was often like this. Those teams had so much talent, but always threatened to revert back to the form of the Raiders of the Lost 90's. The only thing was, they had an elite QB in Rich Gannon who often refused to allow them to lose. I've said it before, I'll say it again...Gannon was like manna from Heaven for Raiders fans like myself. To have the QB that made the right decisions, eluded pass rushers, could run for timely yards, and didn't commit the killer turnovers...he lifted our franchise for three years on his Philly back and made us the RAIDERS again. Truly haven't been the same since his career ending injury, ironically against Jon Gruden and the Bucs, in 2004.
People forget how good Gannon was back then. Most people will blank when you ask them who the 2002 NFL MVP was. Yeah, the Super Bowl was rough, but that was an all-time great defense the Bucs had. Many times the league MVP didn't win the Super Bowl, yet people seem to totally disregard Gannon's 2002 run. Yet others' MVP seasons that didn't end in a Lombardi often get praise ad nauseam.
Yup then went on to draft QBs like jamarcus Russell from LSU.
@@stefanlal3060 Raiders should have drafted Aaron Rodgers in 2005
No doubt Gruden, Gannon and Brown. Was blessed enough to attended 3 of the 5 playoff games and quite a few regular season games in Oakland in that stretch.
He got hurt in Oakland vrs the ravens playoff game. fat Tony saragusa did it on purpose.
Raiders were loaded
Aww, you cut off Greg Gumbel's comment on Rison at 8:10..."Easy Andre, this isn't the XFL!" He said that in this game like 3-4 times lmao.
Underrated NFL on CBS theme
These 2 teams would face each other again a couple years later and again was decided in overtime
I thought that was Antonio Brown in the thumbnail.
Good game. Ironically both Jerry Rice and Charlie Garner would cross the bridge over to Oakland the next season. Both of these teams were fun to watch during this period.
This is REAL football, back when football was football
This remains the last Raiders road win against the 49ers to date
They beat them at Levi stadium in 2014
@@brycemc7179 They played in Oakland in 2014.
hell yeah they did. I was right behind the end zone when Derek Carr threw a TD pass to Donald Penn. they killed the Niners' playoff hopes with that win. that remains one of the funnest games I've ever been to.
Saw this with my dad in Chester CT time flies one of those videos you remember where you were
@@bornmuser215this was when it was hitting football
Gannon was scootin' out there
Yeah I didn’t remember him being that fast. He was blowing past angles guys were taking on him
I REMEMBER THIS GAME LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY. PERFECT DEEP STRIKE TOUCHDOWN PASS FROM QB RICH GANNON TO WR TIM BROWN FOR THE WALK OFF WINNING TOUCHDOWN IN OVERTIME
Its a damn shame Mark Davis moved the team to a souless city like Las Vegas. As a Niners fan, Ive always respected the passion Raiders fans show towards their team win or lose. The Bay Area deserves two NFL teams.
I still think those were the 49ers best looking uniforms
As a Raiders fan who grew up in a niners household I liked those dark burgundy red uniforms
I miss the old nfl. didn't realize how much it changed till watching this video.
Yeah man.
@@xtlm 😢🏈
Yea its flag football now
It's funny how Charlie Garner and Jerry Rice went to the Raiders a year later.
A good Ole bay rivalry.
Several blocked kicks in this game. Greatest game I have attended in my life. ☠️
I was at this game. It’s the best game I’ve seen in person.
hell of a game‼️ so much star power🔥
Happy New Year 🎊🎉🥂🍾🎆🎇 NFL Throwback 🏈🏉 Keep Up The Good Work.
Man I remember watching this game. Janikowski was so frustrating that year.
Oh and I forget how fast Gannon was! Dude had wheels!
I remember a lot more Gruden jumping and fist pumping when I watched this live at ESPN ZONE in NY. Ah well, been a long time.
I was hoping for either this game or the 2002 game to be uploaded. Both are classic games. Thanks for the upload.
I know I already said this on the 2007 Colts vs. Chargers upload, but I think a good game to upload would be Dolphins vs. Patriots, Week 17, 2000. An even better game to upload would be Chicago vs. Detroit from that very same week, where Detroit was in a win-and-in scenario.
EDIT: Love the pulsating logos! That's a very memorable part of these old broadcasts.
This was an epic one. Love to see it
An underrated classic! I miss Greg Gumbel being the voice of CBS. He was way better than Jim Nantz
For a 6-10 team, the 2000 49ers were fun to watch.
Charlie Garner was a solid back like a backup version of Brian Westbrook
Can't forget famous speedy James Jett for the raiders
The 49ers quickly and briefly fixed things up during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons
Lot of encouraging signs with the youth movement with guys like Julian Peterson, Ahmed Plummer.. the 99 season was a total nightmare but 2000 set the foundation for the runs in 2001 and 2002.
We put up so many points and yards. Garcia still holds the franchise record with 4278 yards.
People like to Rag on Gruden now but he was a hell of a coach his first stint in Oakland
Will we ever hear from gruden again?
@@packersauburneric3625 Highly doubt it the material that came out was just too egregious, also rejecting Brady in 2020 when he was still an elite 97 overall QB will hurt him
Dammm what a game
My all-time favorite player, Timmy B.
T.O was a monster man. I really miss seeing him play.
I'm glad this is being rivalry is being renewed for New Years Day. A worrying trend I've noticed is when the 49ers are good, we can't beat the Raiders, but when we stink, we beat the brakes off of them. Even though we have the division wrapped up, I want us to win. Let's hope no one gets arrested. Go Niners!
Don’t worry, you guys are gonna dismantle us 😅😂😢
My money is still on the Niners "beating the brakes off them".
I was gonna say, the Raiders should be hungry, and we might be overlooking them. Certainly a guy like Jamal Adams has proven difficult for us to stop in the past.
Andre rison his last year in the NFL on the raiders lol
It was a classic shoot ‘em up game. As it always should be when gold v silver.
Even though the Raiders were in Los Angeles back then and now in Las Vegas, the Niners were always be one of the fiercest rivals in the NFL.
classic game!
I remember watching this game. Such an awesome time. The Raiders belong in Oakland (yes, I know, Oakland is a crappy city nowadays. So is SF. So are NY, Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit,....)
All time classic. One of only two times the Raiders have beat the Niners in the regular season since 2000.
The fact that TO is still playing in the FCF is insane!
Wink wink
I started watching the video thinking that it was another 49ers-Raiders game from around the same time frame that also went to OT, so at the end I was surprised that 49ers lost! Still, thanks for the upload.
17:11...CHUCKY!
Love the old CBS themes
Cool
Is there a highlight video of the 2019 49ers/raiders game (the last battle of the bay game in the nfl)?
Gannon was a Top G! Need a qb like this
This is double as much sweet for me......1st of all because the Raiders were my fav team beck in the 80s when i was living in LA.......2ndly because i hated the 49ers with a passion.....to this day, i still do!
Back when football was watchable
The West Coast offense being ran at it's purest form in this game. #Westcoastoffense.
Bill walsh scouted Jeff Garcia for 49ers
First thing I noticed as a Niners fan is how much time Gannon had in the pocket to complete his throws. He would not be able to do that against the pass rushers the niners have now
Why are referee cams not a thing anymore??
Charlie garner would later be a raider
4 HOF wide outs in this one. The game just feels different now, too much just trying to be the star on the field. Watching these throwbacks, there is celebration on the field, but it's brief and they get back to it.
The raiders used to play in candlestick Park. True Story
Tim the great 🫡
Should have just renovated candle stick. And this is coming from a Raiders fan.
Damn that call was so bad at the end
What a horrible call at the end
Jesus is King
yo stop using the niners old wordmark
They’ve used the correct one for several videos but this incorrect (2005-2021) logo for several videos as well.
I HATED this logo. To an irrational level. So I’m glad it is now gone.
Jesus Loves everybody Amen
🏴☠️⚪⚫🏉🔴🟡⛏️
Neither!!!
Bay Area belongs to The Goat Jerry Rice and John Taylor.
Cisco San Fran the city
Raiders haven’t won a playoff game since then LMAO 😂😂😂 🗑🗑🗑
RAIDERS 🖤🏴☠️🏈 VS 49ERS ❤💛🏈 CLASSIC WEST COAST RIVALRY #THEBAY 🌉
