Oh how I miss that energy. I remember Paula Abdul was on fire back then too. Their dance style was so energtic, positive, and strong...alluring too without being overly sexualized. GREAT reaction Tim...ur so right. She created her own space to shine.💯🔥💣
@DeAnne1233 Paula only choreographed 4 Janet videos from the Control album. 🙄🙄🙄She didn't choreograph this video and Janet didn't work with Paula again. I don't know why people think Paula did so much for Janet 😒😒
Janet was da bidness in the late 80s and early to mid 90s til now. During those times, she was arguably the biggest name, or one of (along with her brother), in the industry with popularity and album sales. Her show(wo)manship, dancing and choreography, videos influenced many, including the Beyonces, Teyana Taylors, Rihannas. They have all (or would) admit that.
That was my girl, back in the day! She's extraordinary. Janet was in her own lane even though she came from such a famous family! Actress, singer, dancer. Yeah, she came from an artistic family, but she carved her own lane.
"The Pleasure Principle" peaked at #14 on the Hot 100, #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart, and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The video was seen as iconic by critics and won an MTV Video Music Award. Please react to Janet Jackson - "Make Me."
The CONTROL album was my girl power soundtrack as a teen, she was only 19 when she recorded it and I poured over magazines reading about how she was breaking out and creating her own style/image. Playing this album throws me straight back to the comfort of my bedroom and great memories of my teens. Rhythm nation for my 20's😂
I’m 53 years old until this day this is my favorite Janet Jackson song! With the song first came out back in the day and I heard it on the radio because back in the day we had a radios I was like damn this song is this shit
I hope you keep doing your videos. You were the first ones I saw use this format where you had never heard of artist and listened to music of all genres. I remember president Obama, good morning America and other well known celebrities interviewed you. I love how you react to music from Frank sinatra, marvin gaye, Phil collins, Michael and Janet Jackson and many others. Interesting with you being so young. Keep it up!!
God,, I love this song! The whole Control record was amazing! Michael may have been the King of Pop, but Janet is the Princess of Pop! She's awesome!❤❤❤
Janet Jackson is an icon show laid out the blueprint for future entertainers. She's one of the greatest artists ever. There's so many more music videos you have to check out. I grew up with Janet Jackson since 1986 and she's been a consistent presence in my upbringing.
Classic Janet! One of her best songs and hands down my favorite song/video of hers! Gary Indiana totally produced the best musicians and the best reviewers in you Twins!! Love you and your channel! ❤️
U GOTTA SEE JANET AND MIKE AND THE BROS PERFORM ON THE LATE NIGHT SHOW. JANET WAS A STAR SINCE SHE WAS VERY VERY YOUNG.THE 70S TV SHOW GOODTIME SHE STARRED ON AND TEENAGER ON DIFFERENT STROKES,80S TV SHOW FAME.CHECK A CLIP OUT
My Brother still has this album from back in day.Love Janet. How can anyone not.She is sexy beautiful with all the right moves and her vocals and lyrics don't play.
"Pleasure Principle" and "Rhythm Nation" are my two favorite Janet Jackson videos...but PP is #1. Just Janet, plain & simple. Comfy clothes, tennis shoes, no makeup. Her choreography is STILL 🔥🔥🔥! After the "Control" album, she wasn't the cute baby sister of MJ/J5 or Penny from Good Times anymore. She became a bonafide star. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were her producers, and they created magic. Jam, Lewis and Janet were a winning combination!
Sometimes I listen to these old songs and I want to go back so bad it hurts...I had so much fun in my teens and 20s...it was a good time 80s and 90s...the world just ain't the same..😞✌🤟🎱
Those Jackson genes run strong from parents to siblings. Yep this one of those Jackson kids. JJ continue to rock in her mid fifty's Black sure don't crack!
Yep, Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul started the hand to face framing move. It went straight through Tiffany and then Madonna took over from there. 😂 Also caught the (later dubbed as) ‘Molly Ringwald’ dance on top of the amp. Look out Carlton 😂
Janet Jackson on the tv show like good time and different stokes fame and she first album called Janet Jackson 1982 and Dream street 1984. she start working jimmy jam and Terry lewis for control album
Dude.. I’m a 1:41 in. You ain’t react to that amazing lighting, that fabulous loft and of course Janet looking like wow?.. I still want that shirt over 30 years later! This video influenced my career! Love Dominic Sena, he directed this I think..I watched it earlier today because today is Janet’s birthday! Happy birthday, Ms.Jackson!
Lol I hit thumbs up before listening. Two reasons, your reactions are amazing and second not only did you chose the queen JJ but this is her best song for me
Her choreographer Barry Lather cleared it up in regards to THE BACKFLIP. IT WAS HER. At the time she was taking tumbling classes and incorporated flips also in Nasty where she did a backflip into the screen. The reason people don't think it's her is how Dominoc Sena edited the video.
This was my child hood song that introduced me to her and that really was her doing the backflip some people don’t think it was but it really was her she even said it herself. I love Janet and I love that song 🎶
I don't care what anybody says, Janet Jackson will always be my number one!
Oh how I miss that energy. I remember Paula Abdul was on fire back then too. Their dance style was so energtic, positive, and strong...alluring too without being overly sexualized. GREAT reaction Tim...ur so right. She created her own space to shine.💯🔥💣
Paula Abdul did Janet’s Choreography for her dance videos.
It’s why their style was so interlinked in our heads.
They were absolutely amazing.
@DeAnne1233 Paula only choreographed 4 Janet videos from the Control album. 🙄🙄🙄She didn't choreograph this video and Janet didn't work with Paula again. I don't know why people think Paula did so much for Janet 😒😒
I'm 57 now and JJ is 56. Took me back...took me way back when our bodies were 21. That was her age at the release of this song.
She was 20
GoodTimes ! Let me hear ya say it.
@DeAnne Smith Wish I could catulput back to the 70s and stay there 😀.
If you want to see her dance, check out "Miss You Much" and "Alright". You'll see some flashes of Mike there too.
Yes! and the Rhythm Nation video
yes!
But make sure you include the chair dance at the end!!

Oh to be young again on those knees. This was another one of her greatest videos. Please look at Everytime and Anytime, Anyplace.

I think this was 1986. Such a great year for music!
That was the year I first started going out with my friends to Clubs in London. 😎💃❤
I’m 53 years old until this day this is my favorite Janet Jackson song! With the song first came out back in the day and I heard it on the radio because back in the day we had a radios I was like damn this song is this shit

Love your reactions! Janet is the blueprint! She’s from your ends too (Gary Indiana)! You should be proud lol
God,, I love this song! The whole Control record was amazing! Michael may have been the King of Pop, but Janet is the Princess of Pop! She's awesome!❤❤❤
🔥 is what Janet is!!! I'm the same age. When I saw the video and the black Jodache jeans, I begged for a pair. No luck, but a girl can dream 😅🫶🏽💜!
Big Janet fan here. I remember the very first time I saw this video in 1987 when I was a 23 year old youngbuck 😆.

Always love Miss Jackson! 💓
Think Paula Abdul choreographed this one... she's one helluva dancer❤❤
Barry Lather actually choreographed this one.
Paula only worked on 4 videos for Janet. And the Pleasure Principle is NOT one of them 😒😒😒
She’s so great in concert!! She’ll be in Tinley Park this summer!
Yes, she did her own backflip.
Unbelievable!
Jackson royalty!!! There will never be anyone like her and Michael!!!
So Lonely is my favorite video. Her and her backup dancers were on point ❤. She also sung the song with the group Blackstreet. You guys will love it 💯
I absolutely love the Lonely remix with Blackstreet 😍
Janet is one of the greatest performer, singer and dancer of all time.
Every dance move I know I learned from this video!
Janet deserves her flowers 🌹🌺🌹
Janet definitely became a legend in her own right!
I just saw Janet in concert last year and she's still amazing.
Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” is also 🔥🔥🔥
I will never, ever get tired of this song
I was 7 when this came out and Janet was my first celebrity crush lol
Paula Abdul did most of Janet's choreography. She also did backup singing. Than she took off herself.
I love Janet's song "Escapade"
Loved Paula in the “what have you done for me lately” video😂
Escapade is my favorite song by JJ 🥰
Paula Abdul had NOTHING to do with this video. It's Barry Lather.
No. She didn't. Paula worked on 4 videos. This video was not one of them 🙄🙄🙄
OMG this was my ish when I was child
One of my favorite music videos from Janet. Another video you can do is All Nite (Don’t Stop)!!!!!
Classic Janet ❤
I can remember wanting a pair of her shoes in this video so bad… it’s not her most popular song, but it’s my favorite.
Sometimes I listen to these old songs and I want to go back so bad it hurts...I had so much fun in my teens and 20s...it was a good time 80s and 90s...the world just ain't the same..😞✌🤟🎱
Janet Jackson “Live performance in Hawaii “Would You Mind “
Janet Jackson “I Get So Lonely “
Fun fact, she really did that flip herself. Can you please react to Total featuring Da brat No One Else remix. Please (not the one with foxy brown).
Bolero Jean jacket, ripped jeans and wrestling boots....oh yeah, that was THE LOOK back in the day! Such a style icon!
Those Jackson genes run strong from parents to siblings. Yep this one of those Jackson kids. JJ continue to rock in her mid fifty's Black sure don't crack!

Also caught the (later dubbed as) ‘Molly Ringwald’ dance on top of the amp.

this is definitely one of those "do it while you're young" videos that you can only pull off in your early 20s.
She is so cool. She always has been.
I forgot all about this song THANK YOU! Adding it to the workout playlist now
Love her!
excellent album...all of it
Check out her song, Rhythm Nation. The message is still relevant today.
PSA-this was not choreographed by Paula. She did the control album. Barry Lather did this one. Google is our friend 😊
I could do this WHOLE routine. Love to dance
I was in middle school when this came out. All the girls were jumping off chairs tryna be Janet. Lol

You killed me whe she hit that flip your reaction 😂
Her choreographer Barry Lather cleared it up in regards to THE BACKFLIP. IT WAS HER. At the time she was taking tumbling classes and incorporated flips also in Nasty where she did a backflip into the screen. The reason people don't think it's her is how Dominoc Sena edited the video.

She definitely takes after big brother Michael. Have you reacted to any Michel'le videos? Nicety is my favorite!
