YES!!!!, but still some people like to say, "all he did was moonwalk and hip thrust " come on, you don't earn a spot into the hall of fame with just 2 moves. MJ was an amazing dancer/ performer way before he Moonwaked, he was doing tap, robotics, funk, popping in the 70s, in the Jackson variety show. This generation is unknown about MJ before Thriller and comes out with stupid claims and questions.

Agreed. Prince was a mistro in EVERYTHING.There was and is no other artist that could do what Prince could. He was a singular talent that we've not seen before or since. A very special human in the world of talent.

Joko Santoso Prince was just as bad and innovative. Michael did not create any signature moves... he did however perfect them and put his own ‘flavor’ on them thus catapulting them to another level. This includes the ‘Moonwalk’ ... which originally came from a member of group Shalamar when he danced as a ‘Soul Train’ dancer.

Back in the day MICHAEL JACKSON threatened to sue MTV for refusing to play his 15 minute long THRILLER mv. They claimed to be New Wave/Rock station and he didn't fit their target audience. The channel ended up playing it every hour on the hour for weeks! And yes I learned and still know all of the choreography! When I was young my Mother took me and my two sisters to see THE JACKSON 5 at the #CircleStarTheater in San Carlos, CA(it's been gone for decades now)the venue had a stage that slowly revolved during a performance. Their big hit was #DancingMachine at that time. I'll never forget that show for as long as I live! My one and only time seeing MJ on stage.
MJ's moves are the ones who inspire A LOT of dance moves.

MJ grabbed the crown, there came so many and still are coming, no doubt they all are talented at their place, but MJ was something beyond this field, the only one, totally unmatchable incomparable.
Jeffrey Daniels from Shalamar was actually the first one who created 'The Moon Walk' it's just that MJ took it and performed it on a 25 years of Motown show or something back in the 80s. So HE should definitely have a mention!
Actually, Michael Jackson said that he first saw the movement on the streets, the kids break dancing and "floating." There were others before, but MJ perfected it and made it his own.

Michael was the best because he invented the moves. I miss him. You're right! MJ watched all the moves from Fred and Gene to Mr. Bojangles. But you all would have to admit Michael added his own flair to these moves, making his style his trademark. His variations on the moonwalk. Especially when he did the moonwalk when Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minnelli were at the front of the stage watching him. MJ did this eerie-style-mannequin type moonwalk. It's on utube.
