  • CZ Shadow 2 VS Beretta 92X Performance. Both of these handguns are among the finest 9mm pistols in the market. The CZ Shadow 2 is commonly known as a smooth and accurate handgun. The Beretta 92X, based off the Beretta M9 series, takes it's performance to the max and competes well with the CZ Shadow 2. Which one do you feel is a better handgun?

I own the 92X Performance and the Shadow 2 is the next gun to add to the collection. This will be CZ #8 so I am a little biased to CZ pistols, but the Beretta is a BEAST and very accurate. Another great review Dan, appreciate what you do Sir.

I got them both for about a year now. I've been meaning to make a comparison and unboxing video of the two but you beat me to it. 😁 Anyway, both of them are absolutely great handguns! Both have a great quality. It's really hard to choose between the two, unless one is a diehard CZ or Beretta fan. The way I see, only way to make the right decision would be to own them both. 😊 However, they're not cheap by any means. Therefore, either way you go you won't be disappointed. Great content! 👍

I have to say, I circled back to the 92X Performance because of your reviews of it. When I initially tracked one down at a shop to look at in early January 2021, the trigger was noticeably gritty and I felt disappointed. But after watching your reviews on it over the past few months, I decided to give it another look. I found one, by chance, in mid-August 2021 at a store, on a weekend getaway with my wife, and the trigger was noticeably better this time. I own a CZ Custom A01-LD and CZ Tac Sport 2 and the single action pull was comparable to both of them. It was so good, that I'm convinced it had the Langdon Tactical trigger tune. I couldn't pass it up and it came home with me. The next day, after a quick adjustment to the rear sight, I ran 200+ rounds through it on my range and was hitting targets at 40, 60 and 80 yards with a big smile on my face. Without your reviews of the 92X Performance, I probably would have never given it another look. Thank you for your great reviews, keep them up.

TFG, great video. I have a lot of common ground with the content. I own the CZ Technical Sports Orange ($1800) & the 92X.
Must say, I'm faster and more accurate with the Orange, probably because it's another few hundred $ more than the 92X.
That saying, both are awesome. The 92X is on my nightstand, I trust my family to it.
The Orange is just more fun, not as practical. Hope that makes sense

My Shadow II came with 3 magazines. Also, I think you failed to mention the extremely low bore axis due to the slide riding n the inside of the frame. Finally, for those of us with larger hands, the longer grip on the Shadow II helps in accuracy when shooting with better purchase on the pistol.

Funny! I had a Shadow 2 and very foolishly traded it for a Beretta 92FS Brigadier because I wanted something lighter. I have since switched to a 92X Performance which I've yet to try. Here in Australia we don't get the opportunity to try out different guns. It's a massive drawn out process to even get your hands on one once licensed (which is an even bigger process). Thanks for a very interesting video.

Excellent video. I had a CZ clone and a 92fs. I know that formats. I found CZ very simple compared to the 92 format. Both very reliable. The Beretta never looks like a competition/race gun. That Shadow II looks like it would be more comfortable to shoot, especially if it mitigates recoil a bit better. The CZ gets at least one point over the 92 due to the mag base plates. Looks easier to strip out than those smooth Beretta mags.

So I've been wanting to get a CZ-75 Shadow 2 the past 4 months, and as I previously stated in another video (can't remember), I had gotten a CZ-75 SP-01 Tactical Urban Grey after my father just paid straight cash (I think). Although I was happy with the SP-01, the CZ virus bit me! OUCH! So every month, my desire to find a Shadow 2 became larger and larger, but last week it was my UNCLE of all people who took me to Scheel's, a sporting goods store where today, we actually traded in his old SiG P226 DAK. We got a surprisingly good deal out of selling it, and today I got the CZ-75 Shadow 2 as my early Christmas present!
I'm just saying. The trigger on the Shadow 2 is literally the best trigger I've ever felt in my entire life... I've traded some 1911s with my father, and those all had very good triggers.. but there's something about the CZ one that just feels good! The take up is short, the trigger shape is comfortable, there's ZERO creep, and the break is the cleanest I've ever felt! The reset is also CRAZY short! Bore axis is low, ergonomics are second to none, and the fit and finish is the best I've seen! It's the first super high-end gun I've gotten, and I will never sell it!
Edit 1: I changed my mind drastically, I sold it and traded for a Langdon Beretta 92 and I don't think I can go back now.

Man the M9s and especially the mags we were given in Afghanistan sucked. Turned me off to the Beretta 92 platform for the longest time until I shot a regular 92 during a range sessions years later. It was like night and day and I eventually got a standard 92x when Beretta released that. Wished I knew someone around me that has a 92X Performance to try. I simply can't justify dropping that much money on one just from dry firing and holding the pistol at my local gun store. Love the Shadow 2 though. That has been my go to pistol for competition and range days. Aside from the removable pin take down, I have zero complaints with it. Such a soft shooter and fun pistol to shoot. The trigger is heavenly and I love the grip texture.

Interesting, even if they are 9mms. Love that, and all, CZ. The 92X looks a bit smaller/lighter (maybe the polymer grip makes it look a lighter weight). The Shadow 2 has more modern lines, looks smooth and easy to carry. Great vid, Ty. Keep'm coming!

    little known "fact"
about the rear sight on the Beretta 92X
    the material for the part
    was sourced from

Funny this video is up yesterday afternoon I handled the Beretta. It was at my local sports authority store..When I was roaming around. What I didn't like about the Beretta was the slide release was difficult because of the safety. You had to really manipulate the gun in order to get it to work otherwise beautiful pistol. I like the CZ though very nice gun all the way around

My shadow 2 purchased October 2020 came with three seventeen round mags, a extended mag release, a cleaning rod and cleaning brush. My beretta 92x purchased in September 2020 is in for warranty service and they required me to pay overnight shipping to return to beretta usa, crazy business practice. There is a chance some day I may trade in my 92X for a 92X performance? At this time I am choosing cz, love my shadow 2. Also I own a beretta 92S Italian which has been a wonderful firearm since I purchased it in the mid 90’s.

Both guns are off the chart for cool factor and quality. I believe much of the accuracy of the CZ design, is because of the barrel lug lock up design, which is similar or the same as the 1911.

  • @richardcolligon4277

Two awsome pistol's! I wonder if the custom companies can even make them better. Langdon tactical did a 92x none performance one and the people who shot it say it was even better. CZ custom shop and Cajun gun works do an out standing job on the CZ pistol's. To light of a trigger pull just like a 1911 I would have to carry it cocked and locked. You have good taste my friend. Have a great day!
