- Aside from business and personal income taxes, I pay a crazy amount of tax throughout the year the is specific to all my different motor vehicles, and that tax goes into the operating budget of the state Department Of Transportation. And just like every other business or organization out there, the state needs vendors to provide services to it as well. So when I get called to tow state owned vehicles, even though I have to perform a service and work for it, it's nice to be able to see some of those tax dollars I spend come back to me.

Casey, you have the best rig, and you explain everything so well. But, don't ever say "these ones" these mean ones, just say "these". Other that that I totally enjoy your videos! I look forward to your next one.
These ones are the comments that annoy me..
These ones' are the one's that are of the best ones :)
From one of the best best!
Casey, U've gots two have have da best best rig to dodo what U dodo, hopes i did not not annoys U too too much. Thanks for the pin.
LOL. Though I hear this and technically agree, I am not a linguist.
"it's called get out and F@#king work for it" love it.
"everything's legal for a price" damn right
That's what that wealthy Hollywood dude Jeffrey Epstein thought. So, either he didn't pay enough fees, or the logic of "everything's legal for a price" may be flawed?
7:49 "It's all legal for a price" Well said! 🤑
There is only one reason why I liked this clip. Congratulate that talented announcer at the end for a job well done .
She put a smile on my face. \
You didn't show hooking back up the safety chain now everybody thinks you left it dragging behind😂
People need to stop thinking 😎
Ha ha, I looked. You can see in a later shot as he's walking that the chain is hooked back up.
😂😂😂
You mean he didn't leave it dragging? :0
@@squiggyg.8415 "Smart phones" do all the thinking for people now days.
The more I watch you, the more I just love the way you tell us how things work and why you do things.... I really like what your doing.... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.....
i totally agree and feel the same way
I got a Turbotax ad before this video
That means my comment about saying tax so many times to make the AI think it’s a video about taxes and shift the audience it markets the video to worked perfectly! 😂😂
Same
cool, now all you have to do is buy a truck, put a Zacklift on it and start getting tax money back!
I got a bunch of them yesterday, hours after I used a competing product to complete my filings.
That was a proud dad moment at the end there, Casey! She's so precious!
Take it from a girl dad: eventually they grow up to be teenagers.
A girl dad's revenge is when they have daughters of their own who are just like them. Muah-hahahaha!
Maybe her talent at the end of each video? Then as she grows older update her announcement each year.
Good humor goes a long way. Being able to get some of your tax money back from the government is a good thing.
Actually don't care about the tax stuff..
Just enjoy seeing you do what you do.
Your explanation of the How, What, Where, and Why is icing on the cake.
State worker?
Not "icing", it's misleading, it's political rhetoric (USA has had a sovereign fiat currency since 1971!).
Nixon screwed it up.
Pure genius!😂 Technically in a roundabout way “hook” bait! 🤣👍
Wow! The Tax Man just loves you.
Right? That's an OUTRAGEOUS amount of tax, and it just makes me angry how much tax our government wastes, and steals from everyone, and is still borrowing more money pushing us further in debt! 😳 Taxation is THEFT!
@@wesman7837I bet you need velcro shoes. Laces seem too challenging for your equipment
I liked how you talked about taxes, but kept us all calm, by staging this next to the gorgeous Oregon scenery, leaving us distracted instead of mad about the tax man!
It's a beautiful spring day on the east coast too! As for taxes on businesses, government has gone crazy figuring out all the ways to extract money from us. Some are important and some are over-kill. People "complain" about the cost of goods and services but are totally in the dark about the cost of doing business. Business owners are hit with numerous hidden costs. In your case, I think the mileage fees are absurd.
Oh, governments all over are thinking about taxing cars for mileage every year too. The craziest one I heard was one mayor we had, was going to tax us for rain, according to our roof and driveway area, before she was booted out. Most of our roofs drain onto our lawns but I guess she thought it all went into the storm sewers.
Right? 25 cents a mile is fu€|
Just waiting for them to tax the air we breath 🙄
Everyone hates tax season. We all think all they do is take take take. We get nothing in return. But what we always forget is we have the best military in the world. And keeping that military up and ready at a drop of a dime require lots of training and continuing training. To make sure those who want to harm this nation stay their azs over across the pond. What we should be fighting is the fact that they are trying to take what we earn away from us. That is Social Security. Someone of us had to deal with some sitty azz people just to make a living.
Yeah, but state governments are trying to figure out ways to impose mileage taxes, and they have been since hybrids hit the roads and they're no longer making bank on gasoline taxes.
In fact, it was Oregon, ironically enough, that started trying to impose those taxes, back in the day. Oregon and Washington states, with the most "greenies" per square inch, taxing people for doing what the environazis have said they should do - drive ostensibly greener vehicles.
Everyone hates taxes but putting an adorable little sweetheart at the end made listening to something about taxes worth it. Thanks for sharing.
"There's a program for that, get out there and work!" 🤣🤘
Casey, you have the BEST comment section!!! Absolutely love videos like “these ones”!
I enjoyed this one - it gives a much better understanding of WHY heavy rescue rigs are expensive to call upon. Being the owner of a 21,000lb Diesel Pusher RV, this knowledge is a powerful tool in the case I ever need to call for help with my rig on the road. So far I've been super lucky and never needed any assistance, but knowledge is a good thing!! Plus I just like watching your videos, and who doesn't love a surprise clip of Riley!
In Minnesota, Towing companies can purchase annual "towing" permits for $300 bucks. That one permit covers their entire company fleet of trucks, regardless of how many trucks they own. It allows "tow trucks to transport disabled vehicles to repair facilities. The tow truck can be ANY weight, any length, day or night, in any weather condition". (not sure of the exact quote but this gives you an idea what the permit allows) Of course around here most larger towing companies also haul heavy equipment for construction companies and rental companies.... and "transporting construction equipment to and from job sites" is NOT the same as "transporting disabled vehicles to a repair facilities" so we as drivers need to pay close attention to our weights when hauling equipment..... but when we're towing trucks, we really don't have much to worry about. We also have "emergency vehicle exemption". If we are called by any law enforcement agency to perform work, we are considered an emergency vehicle, (no, we cant run red/blue lights and sirens like Ron Prat) and then we are exempt from pretty much all commercial vehicle rules and laws.
You forgot that the city of Minneapolis want their own permit you will need to tow within the city. I used to make a lot of money going to auction all around the twin cities. People always need jump starts, tire inflation, and a tow.
@@mrfunnylookinhayes9088 No, I didn't really "forget" about the city of Minneapolis, I just didn't mention it because it had nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. lolol. One city's regulations in the entire state doesn't affect most people. However, I will say they require even more than just a permit if you're actually towing FOR the city. I did snow emergency and street sweeping tows for the city of Minneapolis in the mid 1990's and they also required TRAA driver certification, finger printing, and criminal background checks. This was the mid 1990's. Background checks may be somewhat normal today to work for some motor clubs, but in the 1990's, background checks were unheard of in the towing business. At least around here, anyway. None of the towing companies I have worked for since we did Minneapolis city towing have bothered with the city towing permit. We're not based in that city so we don't care about their permits. If we need to pickup a customers car in that city, we just go get it. Period. In fact, I suspect that permit is only for companies who do private property impounds (parking lot tows) IN the city of Minneapolis, which we never have. That city is irrelevant to me, and to most people who don't live or work there.
@@SlipFitGarage Minnesota Tow truck drivers represent!
Wisco is similar. None of this per mile crap.
I do like you videos. My very first job at 16 was working for a tow and wrecking yard in California.
What i also like is the transparency you have on how you get paid by CZcams. I don't think any of the other several dozen channels that I am subscribed to subscribed to do that.
Kudos to you, Casey!
Love your logic and strategy, sir. Well done - once again!
Thank you, Casey, I really enjoy both your recovery jobs and your personality. Keep up the good work.
Casey you’re a genius for putting all that in perspective !!
Love your videos. Variety is always good in your videos. "click bait". "Never said I was good at this". Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your thinking. Glad the truck was left by the creek/river. I enjoyed the peak of it while you filmed at the side of the road.
This info is also a must know for new folks thinking they’re gonna make a whole lotta money in trucking. Add the taxes to the extremely high insurance rates and you’ll soon figure out that you’re usually gonna make way more money feeding folks apple pie at macdonalds than you will owning a truck. Especially the first few years while you develop a customer base.
provided the franchise owner has multiple locations to be able to afford CA's new minnimum wage.... Here in the SF Bay Area several fast food restaurants have closed due to rents going up and the payroll taking their profit margin.
Your ongoing commentary is great!
That was some great Financial and Tax advice!! Thanks Casey!
Very educational and strategic!
Excellent business model as usual.
Well done Casey! You are not only a very hardworking man, but smart, frugal, and a mathematician!! Thanks buddy. Be safe!
Most CZcams channels seem to be a magnet for the "Eddie The Experts" out there who will tell you everything that you do wrong, in their opinion anyway. The fun part for the rest of it is seeing how you so "sweetly" set them right. I may not understand everything you say at the moment you say it, but I know from experience that you will enlighten me somewhere else in your video. Keep up the good work Sir.
This video is an excellent example of why your channel has become one of my favorites. :)
I have really been enjoying you explaining things in more detail. Thank you as always for your great content. You and The Outdoor Gear review channels are my favorite.
Good job, Casey! I really like your explanations and thoughtful commentary. Keep it up!
This was a very educational and clever video young man. Thank you for the education on vehicle's taxes.
Good morning from Syracuse,Indiana..!!! Ugh on taxes… double ugh. Little bit of tax money I would get back always went to the x that never saved to pay on his. Now I spend it on enjoying the scenery.
I have a brother in Gary. Thank God he is moving back to Minnesota. But when I drive to pick him up for a road trip I always hate the fact that the roads in Illinois and Indiana around the Chicago area is always packed with cars and trucks. It cost money to sit in traffic for 30 minutes at a time.
I like this kind of information. People do not realize what it takes to run a business. Keep up the good work. Driving the trucks is the easy part.
Keep up the Strategy, but don't overdue it :). Love your Videos and the work your do.
It’s funny, it’s such a simple process but Casey does such a great job with commentary every time it’s easy to watch and listen. You forgot to mention the truck and the Lift and all the attachments are a write off too .
Casey, you are one of the nicest, honest, down to earth guys I know. Always enjoy watching your channel. The cute girl at the end is just icing on the cake!
Casey, trolling the algorithms 😂🤣
Also, I love the content, and thanks for sharing all those cool details about the job!
Thanks for the video, I usually learn something and always enjoy watching!
Nice job!!! Keep up the fine work and great content!!
You know, Casey, I have enjoyed you explaining all aspects of your work - I really appreciate it - have a blessed day : D
Casey, you are quite a numbers guy! You are one step ahead of your critics! 😅 Thanks for sharing! 😊
Nicely done Casey !!
Videos like this are exactly why you're my favorite CZcams channel!
Hey Casey,
Ya gotta use every tool at your disposal when you have a business that deals in the big bucks.
knowing how to do that is the key.
Way to go.
P.S.
How much fun is it going to be ten years from now viewing Rilies little snippets !
Hopefully by then, she will be on the payroll as an official spokesperson or even an equipment operator for Cascade Enterprises.
So Wise , Thank You for the explenation of the taxes, operating costs and other expenses. Sadly there are to many people that do not understand ALL of the costs of having a buisiness
I got to see that pretty scenery and the covered bridge twice last week.
I had a delivery in Springfield and reloaded in Prineville.
That fan trick is ingenuous! I'm going to have to wire my pickups fan for pulling the camper through the Colorado mountains. Thanks!
Oh that's a great idea! Wiring a fan to manually be able to lock up the clutch is a great idea!💡 👏 👌 👍
That's a new one for me. Delighted you demonstrated it. I would have said "no way".
Well played Casey, well played. I never understand why some people seem to think creators just take videos randomly and throw them on youtube whenever. Of course there is strategy behind it.
Casey you've earned yourself a new follower from kenya. Good work. I like watching your videos.
Great tutorial on trucking dynamics. Also hope you Triple Charge the State to recover all their thefts of your Time and "Permit" Expenses.
-- Another great video!
Casey in my opinion you are a good teacher and I enjoy learning new stuff. It is very smart to pay to play and save a lot of hassle
Some folks may disagree with you about a lot of things, but no one can disagree about the irresistibly cute kid!
Excellent job. and your assistant is the cutest!
Yet another Casey video that is unique and informative.
Realy good idea. You are a genius man Casey. Long life and god bless you and your family
thumbs up, great video, like hearing the behind the scenes
As always, you explain everything you are doing and the expense of towing
Great video
Your point is spot on though. Just like when I get my money from the VA - I am getting some of my Tax Money back. Perspective - use it or lose it!
When you mention Northern California and hauling equipment on 16 - 18% grades I thought of the roads to the Geothermal Powerplants in Lake and Mendocino County such as Socrates Mine Road. Insane roads to even drive a personal vehicle on let alone something like a commercial rig!
I'm very impressed you could explain all those numbers and math, WHILE you were driving that massive truck down mountain roads towing another massive truck. And doing all that in a way to bump your CZcams income. I suspect you may be one of the smartest people on CZcams.
Great video and explanation!
Dang, Casey. Gaming the algorithm to push the content to a wider audience. Great job! Maybe I can help. “Tax, taxes, taxed, taxonomy, taxidermy.” We’re here to help. 😀
I have been a faithful watcher of yours for about two years now I think it’s been that long but anyway, I like every single video you put out even the shorts
A very informative video as usual Casey, and if I was not already a subscriber your beautiful daughter Riley certainly would have won me over. My twin girls are going to be 11 on the 24th. It passes so fast it’s like lightning. May you have a blessed and safe April.😊
I appreciated the tax info. Stuff the rest of us don't even think about. What a lot of paperwork. Thanks for being willing to go to all the trouble. Then there is insurance. Keep on truckin.
I love you Casey, and you content is great, Thank you. God Bless you and yours
...ok Casey....the ending made it worth while to go thru this myriad of numbers and taxes.....what a cutie-pie!.... 🙂
This video was viewed over 2000 times from when I started to when I made this comment. Thank you for the information about costs of doing business and the benefits of CZcams
Casey, you sir are a legend and i enjoy every bit of your videos
Thanks for starting the video at that gorgeous location. I love covered bridges. Had to pause the video and rewind then pause again to get a better look at it. Wish you would have stopped there if it was possible. Great video made even better by Riley's ending.
After that young lady told me to like and subscribe, I looked and saw I already liked and I have been subscribed for a while. Thnks for the tuber lesson and keep up the good work.
Well said Casey 👏.
Most people don't realize how much trucks cost to operate per mile, month, year..
Nice work Casey 👍😎🙏
You win the Internet today, Casey good job! Clever trickery at its finest! Lol
Sone videos (including this one) just make me smile more than others
Clever, Hope it brings you new subscribers, BTW You say " I Never Said i was Good at this " But you are very good at Business .
Okay, now you are really playing dirty when you bring out the cute kid on us!!! 🙂 It doesn't matter though to me; I've seen that cute kid on several other videos because I am a subscriber! I watch any and everything (almost) you post; I don't care how you title it! Thanks for taking the time do make these and sharing them with us!
Awesome spot for the intro, Casey! Only river by me is the Los Angeles River and it's not so nice.
AWESOME video!!!! Thanks
Good video explaining the different taxes you pay for...Stay safe see you on next one
Well getting some of your TAX money back is always a good thing Casey! And this job was not too TAXING on you. And absolutely if Riley wants everybody to like and subscribe then we will happily do so! LOL............ Thanks Casey and thumbs UP! Have an awesome day everybody!!
Great job. Thank you 😊
That sound of the river was amazing.
Good work!
2:11 you are literally the first business owner that I've ever heard other than myself and my wife, that doesn't bitch about paying taxes. At our business we call it America rent. We all got to do our part to keep this country going, and if you're making money you can afford to spend a little bit for those that aren't making money, you know, because maybe they're broken. We're all in this together.
😂😂Great job!! Great TAX time info!
Always a good idea to double check your weight gages with some good sense and additional scales.
Nice to enjoy the beautiful scenery without a crack in the windshield. 👌
The conclusion was the best 👍
Casey the CZcams phenom. Very well done Sir.
Cool video. I actually followed the math along with you - made perfect sense. Do you like those ratchet straps you used to secure the steering wheel..? I've seen an ad for those on CZcams or Facebook, and wondered if they were worth it. What are your thoughts on them? Have you done a video that features them? If not, maybe you include a short review on them, if they're worth the time. Thanks in advance.
I like the way you try to work the CZcams financials, which is why I am commenting on this tax video.
You always make it interesting. Even yor Bluetooth tax savings and the beast that is CZcams.
That is some serious good tax advice sir, thank you
Well done with the video Casey. If only there were a real way to reduce taxes. Have a great day!
Thank you for this video, I have been wanting to know why you have two registration plates. Now I know.
