A new visitor center opened at the Manila American Cemetery in Taguig City to serve as a reminder of the sacrifices of thousands who fought to defend freedom during World War II. The Manila American Cemetery is open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including on Philippine holidays, except December 25 and January 1. #HonoringVets #AlliesForFreedom #FriendsPartnersAllies

My school went here for a feild trip today, I would like to thank each and every single one of the soldiers who fought for my countrys freedom. I most especially applaud all of the solidiers mentioned in the comments ❤

My uncle Harry Evans Gallaher is buried in this cemetery. KIA May 1, 1945 in Luzon near Santa Fe. Fought with the Tropic Lightning 25th Infantry Division out of Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. We miss you Punky!

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CEMETERY IN THE WORLD AND ONE THING I NOTICED THEY PUT A CROSS ON EACH GRAVE SO BEAUTIFUL IN SIGHT.They are all modern day crusaders giving their lives in protecting freedom and democratic values.They left their families friends and love one to do their duty as defender of weak and small.BRAVO AND SALUTE TO U.S ARMED FORCES.

How can we ever forget the bond? My own kid is now serving but my 2 uncles served also in WW II. My one uncle was so sweet. Never really talked about the war but my own father was a teacher never became a soldier but disciplined us like he was the General. I now realize that this war must have made him like a soldier. Only few stories he relate to us. He said prior to WW II there were many Japanese migrants in the Philippines. After Pearl Harbor and Manila bombings they all turned out to be Generals. A lesson to be learned. Such a solemn place to reflect the sacrifices of these young men and women who have no business to be there but to offer their lives for our freedom and the service to their country. We are forever grateful to you All. Rest in Peace.
My Mama used to tell us stories about WW2, before, during and after the liberation of the Philippines. She said that before the war, there were a lot of Japanese business owners - salons, bakeries, restaurants, etc. - who turned out to be soldiers and, you are right Generals and officials of the Japanese Army. Even their civilian Japanese friends, to their surprise were in the Imperial Army, when war started.

I just found out today that my dad's half brother, my uncle, died on Oct 21, 1944, 383rd Division, 96th Infantry Regiment, The Deadeyes
..he was killed on the day after the landing...I am proud and humbled...when I served in the Navy, the ship, USS Leyte Gulf, was in the same battle group I was in...

We love Americans but politicians in USA not much, we fight terrorism side by side becuase almost every filippinos have thier 4 ,5th generation even though there last names is different from origins

My paternal grandfather, Pvt. John B. Redman, U.S. Army Air Forces, 28th Materials Squadron, 20th Air Base Group, died in the Japanese POW camp (#4) O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines on May 24, 1942 of dysentery (and starvation & malnutrition, which could not be officially cited as causes of death per Japanese Headquarters) after taking part in the Bataan Death March. My grandfather is buried in Plot L, Row 5, Grave 66. He received a Purple Heart posthumously. “Greater Love Hath No Man Than This, That A Man Lay Down His Life For His Friends.” John 15:13 🇺🇸💜
