      To be honest, Everton need relegation.
      They've been shambling around the lower-mid table area ever since Moyes left for Manchester. Spending money in the same fashion as City or United does not mean they will achieve such success. Goodison Park is heading the same way as Belle Vue.
      Relegation will wake them up to the reality that Everton could go bust with one more serious mistake.

      And were a top flight clubbin the 1950's into 60's during the 70's and then 1982 until 1992 a top flight club in all this time they just haven't been able to move stadium and had a string of bad owners. Culminating in minus 30 points relegation to non league which is so difficult to win promotion from for 5 years. A new 23,000 stadium is opening in 3 years so once this happens the club can grow finally. All the best

Nobody complained and they should'nt now, Luton reached the F.A Cup semi final in 1985 and WON the League Cup in 1988 beating Arsenal 3-2, if they go up they DESERVE it. I've been in their away end (The Oak Road stand) a few times with Ipswich Town and the first time (March 1996) I looked around and thought "what the F**K is this??" but then you get slowly used to it. Bringing the daily mourinho news to the Irish guy
    Jose Did it again. Once again he took his team to a European final. Protecting at all costs that advantage they had in the first leg. A true defensive masterclass. Mourinho was in tears after the game. This will be Roma's 2nd European final in 2 seasons. An incredible achievement and after the game mourinho had some friendly banter to Pep
    "Yesterday I was looking at man city vs real madrid and pep could change options with Phil Foden. Mazhrez and all the bench players that would be starters in every other team. If pep has injuries he would still have the best squad in the world.
    Us if we have 2 injuries the we become an average squad. And lately we had to deal with Smalling injured. Dybala injured. Wijnaldum injured. Pelligrini playing on one leg. And we still reach a final of a Europa league that basically was a CL. Barcelona. Arsenal. Sevilla. Juventus. Man united. That's a CL competition. And we reached the final beating the Champions of Holland. The 4th best Spanish team and clubs that came from a CL group. This is incredible and I intend to bring the trophy home "
    Roma will face sevilla in the final and if jose wins it will be his 6th European trophy ( 2 CL 3 Europa leagues and 1 conference league)

    I think the fact that Luton recently played in Non-League makes them seem smaller than they are. They aren't a huge club, but it was financial catastrophe that caused them to fall through the leagues, and I would argue that smaller clubs than Luton have played in the Premier League. Examples, Swindon Town, Barnsley, Bournemouth, even Wigan. The likes of Blackpool, Burnley and Oldham are probably of a similar size. Luton have played top flight football before. It's just the recent Non-League football and the ramshackle old ground that makes them seem smaller than they are. It would still be a fairytale if they make it though.

    I'll never understand why the old First Division has been airbrushed from history when in 1992 they literally changed the name and the trophy. The competition remained identical. And yet the old European cup [a competition that often literally contained no more than 8 full time pro teams and where semi pro teams like Malmo reached the final and Widzev Lodz the semi final] is still regarded as the same as the Champions League, which is a fundamentally different competition entirely.

    • @unclerwdy

    • @TheGiantKillers
      @TheGiantKillers Před rokem +3

      @@unclerwdy What I mean here is that the trophy and the name were literally the only things that changed. It was just as hard to win the First Division in 1992 as the Premier League in 1993. Likewise the World Cup in 1970 and 1974 when they changed the trophy of that competition. However, the calibre of the European cup and the Champions League are like chalk and cheese. in 1980 Nottingham Forest reached the semi finals before facing a full time professional opponent.,

      @@senseiadam-brawlstars9465 It would, but Luton's ground is stuck in a time warp from the mid 1980s. Pre Bradford, pre Heysel, pre Hillsborough. Times have moved on, and what was once acceptable no longer is. About 80% of clubs in the top four divisions have put huge effort into modernising their stadia. About 10% have done virtually nothing, and another 10% are kind of in between. Luton belong in that 10% that have done virtually nothing. My team Wolves for instance, three quarters of the stadium is totally new from 1985. Compared to 1975, it is 100%. Bring a Wolves fan in a Time Machine from 1975, and he wouldn't recognise anything of Molineux. Do the same for a Luton fan, and at least 90% would still be familiar.
