That moment of "Have I grown old, or is THIS game just hard?" after the first team wipe felt SO relatable. I feel seen 🤣
I thought maybe I was just bad at the game, but the devs have acknowledged it's much harder than intended and are scrambling to fix the balance. Shame because the actual gameplay loop is fun as hell.
Yeah the card system is very unbalanced. We were playing this exact same level but drew two enemy cards of the armored crushers. They would spawn six at a time and there was just no way we could get through them.
I mean, there's no reason to shame it. They're working on it, aren't they
The patch they came with this month actually made it harder too😫
I do admit I highly enjoy the undead being actually tough in this version compared to left for dead

As a long time gamer myself (who is rapidly approaching 60), I can empathize. The first video game I ever played was a coin op version of _Pong_ back in the early ‘70s.

I so wanted to like this game seeing as we may never get a Left 4 Dead 3 but I hate the fact everything has to be done online even single player. Rant aside I love it when they play co-op games. It's always hilarious when you stick careful guy Andy with guns ablazing Mike and puckish rogue Jane as chaos always ensues!!!
You’ll be able to play single player with campaign progression after their December update. Agree that it should’ve been there from the start.

The devs recently admitted that the normal difficulty is too hard. And that it’s designed for people to lay easy until you get more powerful cards

To drop the boxes, you only need to equip something else. Y to switch weapons or any other equipment mapped to a button.
It doesn’t matter what the game is; Oxbox 3-player videos are some of the best on CZcams.

Much as I love seeing OxBox doing co-op again this game feels almost broken in terms of difficulty and it did feel like it was starting to grate on them.
the game curves UP like it should but is challenging for sure and they started mid way and im not sure how much they played prior but since they have starter decks still id say they did a no no and jumped into a later stage for their first game... your meant to play the levels prior to build up good guns, team boons from the shop and get used to your cards and their bonus one at a time instead of like 5 at once which is like starting your first bike ride on a hiking trail and not around the block lol gives them more room to be hurt so dont blame the game lol if they play more im sure they will champ this game easy being a 3 man team already😁
@@spiffymarc i dont think its fair when the comments are full of this and people just outright saying the game is bad and people now avoiding it. did i say it was easy? does a statement about how the devs finding a bug and are trying to fix it mean the game is bad? should the game be avoided just cause you watched ox struggle to play the game out of order just so they could make a video people would wanna watch? lets face it you guys wouldnt have watched it if they were serious and did everything right and there was no chaos, and they know that. but it doesnt matter, youve already made up your mind, the fact you tried using that dev statement to try to defend people calling the game bad shows what lengths you will go to. its fine, ill enjoy the game for the rest of ya. just sucks so many people have made judgment from this one video based on entertainment instead of one based on information, anyways im sorry i got heated here but i think the game is great and would love to watch them play it more and in order but from the onslaught of people hating it in the comments cause they dont understand it im sure we wont see another of these vids, oh well
@@tenchiryo I'm avoiding the game because I've played it and the problems make it not fun. The fact that it's broken is a perfectly good reason to not play it until it's fixed.

Ellen does tend to be good at games where you shoot stuff, although that would likely be less good for this because Ellen is good with aim and I'm not sure how good she is at something like this

You can press Y to change guns which drops the box. That's why RB was dropping the box, because it was switching to the throwable

I think the developers started the game difficulty in Full Mike Mode and forgot to switch it off...
Not expecting to see this game played in its entirety, but I definitely wouldn't mind watching more of this in a proper livestream.

Some of my favorite streamers picked this game up when it came out saying they were going to play the whole game then after getting their butt kicked stopped playing after day 1. It's a tough game man, happily surprised you all are enjoying b4b.

There's probably a good game in there somewhere but honestly I will never invest the live service grind hours to find it. I miss L4D. Still I'm glad you guys had some fun with it

I'm guessing right bumper isn't the button to drop; it was just dropping because they had throwables available and that causes a drop as a side effect when they pull out the explosive.
From what I could tell, this looked harder and for some reason less fun than Left 4 Dead and I think you could hear it in your voices, the frustration at the number of deaths and lack of ammo.
Perhaps the sheer difficulty spike when you just leave the safe house was off putting for me and multiple special zombies at the same time.
Granted I didn't play L4D much but I found this infinitely easier and more enjoyable. A friend and I have completed the game a couple of times on veteran and have managed a good portion of it on Nightmare. We'd probably manage more but speed running is dull. There was a few particularly unfair things that have been patched out but once you wrap your head around the card system it's a really enjoyable game!

There's always a fight to see who gets Mom in my friend group lol. Once you get the cards you can make some really good melee builds. I think the Fire Axe is my favourite weapon haha.

Snitches can be killed without alerting a horde by blowing them up with a grenade or a barrel or even a car.
Would love to cross play and teach you guys the ropes. For example you can get the alarmed doors open safely by firing your gun in the air near them. The zombies on the other side will bust through without triggering the alarm.

The boomer infected looks way more buff than i remember..
So, bots in this game can’t actually alert the horde, no matter what you do. The zombies were just the regular groups of enemies, not an alerted horde
And just like that, it was all ogre.

So, here's a little bit of info:
1)Snitches don't alert the Horde when they are rapidly killed. Mutated Snitches, on the other hand always alert the horde and you were fighting Mutated ones.
2) There is a Witch-like enemy called The Hag.
3)The Cleaners (A.k.a. as the playable characters) are immune to the virus. How? It is not yet known but this is told by the characters when Doc and someone else (Might be an NPC, can't remember) are in the same team.
4)That was a Barret .50 cal.
5)The Snitch in the Warehouse was Andy's doing, not Bot Mom. Bots actually don't alert Snitches by the line of sight or Birds and they will drop ammo for the players.
6)You use Y to put down the boxes
7) You haven't been insta-killed, you have simply run out of downs so no revives for you unless via a defibrillator
8) With RB you select the grenade, you don't throw them. To throw them, you press RT once you've selected them.
9) Jim is a hunter so the orange anorak fits him
10) From 3-1 and 3-2 you have gone to 2-1 because the host left
11)The Breaker at the Gas Station will always spawn because it is tied to the mission of 2-1.
12)From 2-1 you have gone to 1-2 where The Ogre spawns because 1-2 always spawns an Ogre and their spawn is fixed.
13)There is a perk card that lets you have infinite ammo for your pistols but you have to unlock it through trade lines, also SMGs and Pistols share the same ammo, except for the Magnum (Which share the ammo with Rifles) and the Desert Eagle (Which uses Sniper Rifle ammo)
14) The cards do change how difficult will be for you. You can have cards that have good bonuses but with maluses or mediocre cards with no maluses
15)The difficulty ramps up the more you play. Usually, the 1-1 of any act is easier but, the more you progress through an act, the more difficult things will become. Because, and here is the thing of Back 4 Blood, an Act is equivalent of a Campaign of L4D.

Bots still not optimized it would seem, since L4D bots understood proper procedures for special infected like the Witch.
Most Tall boys need an arm to be consumed, lol, not all but most.
Feeling really saintly knowing that not even oxboxtra corps (see what i did there) wanted to play as Mom. Guess it’s just me and the three other healers out there…

Bot Mom has always been my favorite OX character.
Don;'t know when this was filmed but it;s my understanding that the balance on this game was alllll out of whack in the first few weeks. When 3 of the tall boi's showed up that was a balance issue that the game would gradually spawn more and more special enemies when it shouldn't be.

Tips if the OXBox team or anyone else wants to play back 4 blood:
1: the melee bash does not interrupt your reload Animation
2: diversifying the teams primary weapons and sharing ammo can help prevent running out of ammo at the wrong time
3: Bot survivors are worse than useless, they can be an outright hazard acting against you
You clearly have a different experience than me! A mate and I made it further with two bots than we did with two randoms on nightmare. Played through the entire thing a couple of times on vet just the two of us.
