4 Spooky Halloween Cocktails for Grown-ups
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 3. 07. 2024
- Halloween is upon us! So today I'm making some sophisticated and delicious drinks for grown-ups (kids can't have all the fun). No smoke and mirrors here - just good cocktails. Here are four you can make at home for your upcoming costume party, or to sip on as a distraction from the ghost and ghouls outside (actually I'd suggest consulting some ghost-busting professionals if that really is the case). Of course enjoy responsibly, and enjoy the spooky season! Cheers, everyone!

What will you be dressing up as this Halloween? Sexy cow is taken.
Get these bottles from my collection! bit.ly/bottlesbottlesbottles
Mad Max....Probably making the el diablo for my Halloween party. That one seems to be prep-able and has a bit of show...Also Mules are always in demand so lots of ginger beer.
If I do bother with costume I usually just put on a skull with make-up. It's astonishing how effective that can be.
As a Dwarf blacksmith
I think Sexy Cow should be the name of your new original cocktail.
I'm bartending as Baron Samedi, and definitely doing the El Diablo this way. And the Black Dragon #13 with full credit to you.
The El Diablo is definitely one of the cocktails I learned from you I make the most
Same! Iâd never even tasted crĂšme de cassis but that recipe seemed so accessible I bought a bottle to try it out. Definitely one of my favorite cocktails on a warm day.
El Diablo has been one of my favorite to make for the past few months ever since I started mixing cocktails. My dad loves it, I love it, the presentation is cool, it's just so cool. Thanks for the list Anders :D
A tasty drink, for sure! Happy you guys enjoy it!
For the Cacao Nib infusion, you can really amplify that chocolate flavor by toasting the nibs breifly In a skillet. I let them infuse a full day at room temp and it is absolutely delicious.
What are coco nibs in English.? đ ie Iâm English and not heard of these. Please let me know. Regards. Love the channel btw. đ
â@ace1rtp Coco nibs are nearly unprocessed cocoa. Like chocolate. You can sometimes get them in supermarkets or health shops. If not amazon has them.
I think the Rattle Skull could easily be added to a Halloween lineup as well, considering I'll already have Stout on hand for the Black Dragon #13!
Definitely welcome on this list!
So when are we going to see an Anders Eriksen cocktail recipe book?
That Psycho Killer sounds fa-fa-fa-fa-fa fa-fa-fa-fantastic. Canât wait to try it.
Iâm so happy that you said âQu'est-ce que c'est?â
I love Talking Heads.
I was just wondering and searched the comments if I was the only one noticing that, 11 months later đ. No, I wasnât. Thank you Holly.
Love all these drinks, but also - I didnât see the sexy cow coming at all. đ I really enjoy the fun, inspirational and helpful tone you have- itâs always a delight. As an old talking heads fan Iâll definitely will try the Psycho killer!
Thank you so much! Hope you love the drink - Cheers!
Been hoping for this video all month. I'm the designated mixologist for the big Halloween party and I'll definitely be serving up all of these.
Cheers! Hope everyone has a good time - happy mixing!
Andersâ cocktail without bitters? What have you done with the real Anders? Bring him back!đœđž
My original idea for this years Halloween party was to make a batch of Black Manhattans, but decided instead to make like a Clover Club, but with blackberry syrup instead of raspberry. I'm sure it'll turn out great and should please everyone, Clover Club is my fiance's favorite drink and I love blackberries so been eager to try that.
Last year I made a batch of El Presidentes and people really liked 'em.
I love all the cocktails you just mentioned. I think your Clover Club riff will be a hit! Cheers!
Thank you Anders â€ïžâđ„
Mahalo Anders!!! Going to try a few of these tonightđ€
LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Anders Originals" you put on the channel. They always strike a great balance which meshes so well with my tastes. Cheers to you and Az!
Appreciate that! Always fun throwing an original in the mix. Cheers!
Thanks for listing the recipes. Keep making these great videos.
These were all great ideasâ€ïžâ€ïž
Totally doing the dragon thing! Thanks for the tips! Cheers!
Some fun cocktails for sure!!
Love the idea behind the Black Dragon #13. Anders original cocktails are yet to disappoint so I have to give this a try. Bonus points for the Dragon's Milk as that is a local brewery for me and one of my favorite stouts!
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
Always entertaining
Anders, youâre just freakinâ awesome.
Another nice selection of amazing drinks for this fun season.
Cheers! Hope you enjoy them!
@@AndersErickson the black dragon 13 sounds like it would be tasty with Breakfast Stout by Founders.
Well done.
one, two, three, four cocktails.. ha ha ha đ§ The Black Dragon No. 13 looks amazing. cheers.
Cheers!
Happy Halloween Anders!
Happy Halloween!!
"One original, three that aren't." The sign of a real bartender
I love what you did with the garnish in the el diablo
Thanks Andrew! Cheers!
You seemed 13-18% tipsy towards the end of the video and I appreciate that! Looking forward making at least 2 of these this week.
Made my first El Diablo. Was fantastic. Thanks for the tutorial
I have a recommendation! For the garnish on the Black Dragon, you could sprinkle ground coffee (like a nice light roast), or you could also garish it with some large chocolate curls!
Just made the Black Dragon but I used Mr Black instead of cold brew concentrate. It might be a little sweeter because of that but itâs still so good! Also made the Rattle Skull from your last video and love that too đ€đ». Thanks for making these great videos, Love them all!
Adding the psycho killer to my to try list! All of these look great!
Love Halloween season cocktails. Thanks
For introducing me
To a few more plus your new one. All sound
Fun and spooky. đ. Cheers
qu'est-ce que c'est, HA!
You made me spit my drink out.
Just tried the black dragon13 using erdinger dunkel. It is magnificent anders you are a real treat.
I use Dragon's Milk when making pulled pork as part of the braising liquid. Delicious stuff by itself or mixed in a cocktail as well!
I definitely want to try the Psycho Killer. Living in San Francisco, I often find reasons to try new uses for Irish whiskey. Thanks for the suggestion.
Day #2, the Black Dragon #13. Only sub was coffee-infused maple syrup for the demerara syrup. Now that is one tasty beverage! Cheers, Anders! đ
Love that I found your channel. You've introduced me to new booze and cocktails that my wife and I love. To the Bar!
Happy you two are enjoying the content! Cheers!
Love the beer cocktails.
I've been enjoying them too - cheers!
I made a round of Black Dragon 13âs for some friends tonight during the House of the Dragon finale and they were a huge hit! The flavors compliment the beer so perfectly. Thanks!
Loving These - Bek
definitely took inspiration from the Dragon's Milk cocktail!
and how did it turn out? what did you use?
@@cretos04 thanks for asking! i used bourbon, cold brew, and coffee liquer, the video is on my page!
Nothing better than sipping the Psycho Killer at the Dead Rabbit! But I'm looking forward to trying this version at home. Thanks, Anders. When in NYC, Amor y Amargo is also a must-stop.
I'm really excited to try the haunted house! get to use the Swedish Punsch that I got for the doctor cocktail.
Hey, Anders. Love your videos. Always informative AND entertaining. Did the Haunted House tonight. Didn't have the puncsh, so sub'd my homemade spicello. Sounded like the spices were similar. Delish!
A thumbs up for using an honestly really good drink which is Dragons Milk, I didn't think it would be good at first but that was before I tried it and dang was it just so good by itself, but now I want to try the cocktail that was made here, getting me excited to grab some bottles and make some good drinks.
Love your channel!! Still obsessively making The See No Evil, but maybe Iâll give the black dragon a try. Cheers!
Garnish for the Black Dragon No. 13: 2 bright red Cocktail Cherries on a toothpick as the dragons eyes!
Hero!
The the psycho killer is a pretty good one. I tend to shake it though, with just a bar spoon of lemon juice. Lightens it up quite a bit. Enjoy your weekend Anders đč
I'm going to give that a try. Great call with the citrus! Thanks David - Cheers!
Fun, I'll try a couple of those. Here are mine I came up with for the season. 1.5oz dry gin, 1oz pomegranate juice, .5oz dry vermouth. Stir with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with lyche fruit stuff with blue berries. I call it the Red Eye.
Also, 2oz Crown green apple, .5oz caramel whiskey (I use a local stillery Sacred Staves) squeeze of lemon juice, stir with large ice cube.
Love love love Nick and Zamora glasses. Binged the Thin Man movies and had to purchase some of these beautiful glasses. Great ideas for the season. Thanks for the content. We are Patreon members and we support you and we love your channel đ
Thank you both so much! Happy youâre enjoying the content. Iâm with you - Nick and Nora glasses are such a great glass. Cheers!
Oooh, the Psycho Killer intrigues me a lot. I'll need to start infusing some Campari! I'll need to try the Black Dragon No. 13!
Thanks for the great video Anders!
Cheers Joonha! Hope you love them both!
Definitely want to try the black dragon #13 at some point. the dragons milk is probably my favorite of pretty much any beer I've ever had.
Love the El Diablo! My local store did not have creme de cassis, so instead, I used creme de violet (much more purple!) but it still tasted amazing. Spicy ginger beer makes it. I recommend it to everyone!
Made the Haunted House just now. Love the funk.
Just tried the Black Dragon No 13 and damn is that a winner. I wasn't too sure how it was going to turn out, like how the beer would balance with the rest of the ingredients.
But this is probably the best beer cocktail I've made. The stout, coffee, averna play really well. The 1/4 oz rich demarara provides the perfect extra sweetness to combat the stout, and the cognac perfectly worked together with everything else, which was a delightful surprise. Way to go!
Love the Nick and Nora glass. Also, for whatever reason, and randomly so, the phrase ââŠa rich Demerara syrupâ clangs around in the Olâ coconut throughout my work day. đč đž đ„„
That psycho killer is a beautiful cocktail. I always struggle with using Campari in my own creations because it can be such a divisive ingredient.
I may have to steal that El Diablo to put on our menu
You could do The Psycho Killer in a bunch of Shot Glasses and Call it The Serial Killer!
I've been thinking of more smoky, fiery options recently thanks to being in the UK and having a renewed interest in celebrating Guy Fawkes Night this year... But that Psycho Killer has me intrigued, I just can't imagine those flavours combined so perhaps a little research is in order... :)
El Diablo works really well with a mellow mezcal too. Something like Los Amantes reposado. And it's a good candidate for spicy bitters.
Have to add some coctails to weekend list, useful tips. El diablo was there already btw: D
Fill an inverted lime cup with grenadine & float it in a Paloma to make it *spooky/bloody* (& tamp down the sharpness of the grapefruit if that's a problem).
100% will do the Black Dragon #13. From Grand Rapids with a New Holland right down the street. Also, fun fact, my buddy and I are going as Dragon's Milk for a Halloween party. I have a dragon costume and he has a milk carton costume. Together...Dragon's Milk. Love the videos Anders. Also Bartenders Blend coffee is phenomenal.
Thanks Chris! Happy you're liking the coffee, and love the costume idea! Have a great time and enjoy the drink!
Make it green and you can call it Lucky Dragon No. 5
As a Michigan Native I always have some Dragons Milk on hand..... No.13 here I come!
I'm going to make some diy swedish punsch, and try out the Haunted House. The diy swedish punsch uses Cachaca and a lemon as it's base with a clove and cardamon mixed w/ a black tea syrup.
Hi Anders. Thank you so much for all these videos that inspire me a lot. I have a question for a long time. What kind of maraschino sherries do you use for your cocktails ?
I adore all these drink ideas! What suggestions would you have for drinks fitting the "cinnamon spice" flavor profile?
The Black Dragon #13 looks like a great recipe! Coffee, beer, averna⊠whatâs not to like?!
A bit of a change up from me on the Black Dragon (no14 đ)Anders, Fiji Ratu Rum 8yo, instead of the cognac, no dem syrup the rum is sweet enough, and an Australian vanilla porter from Brick Lane brewing. Sensational channel and great content, well done bloke, cheers Mate.
We made the Black Dragon â 13 and found it too sweet. Made the next one minus the Demerara syrup and made the volume up with extra cognac. Much better! We call this variant the Black Dragon â 14, of course.
New subscriber here and I love these videos Anders! I started upping my cocktail game thanks to you and now purchasing different kinds of booze than just the run of the mill crap that I grew up with lol. Getting ready to impress the fam during the holidays.
Love it! Glad you're here - and happy mixing!
@@AndersErickson ps...thanks also for posting the link to your collection. My small town in WI has podunk liquor stores, void of anything cool like absinthe haha
Iâve made The El Diablo and The Psycho Killer so far. I really enjoyed both, but The Psycho Killer was fantastic! đ
I made the Black Dragon No. 13 last night for the House of the Dragon finale and loved it! I'm waiting for my Liber & Co. shipment so that I can make The Haunted House to complete the quartet. đ
I made the Diablo a second time tonight but with vodka and I prefer that đ„
TO THE BAR! đđ„đ»
By the way, nice nod to the song Psycho Killer by the Talking Heads with the drink! I heard the quick âQu'est-ce que c'estâ right after making it. Also covered by my favorite band Phish!
My Lieber & Co order will be arriving today. I'm a huge fan of ginger. I'll need to make the haunted house!
The ginger syrup is great if you like a fiery kick! Cheers Sterling!
I hate myself for not having all the liquours for making all your drinks, i'm fascinated with your content, greetings from Argentina and Venezuela (try Venezuelan Rum btw)
Mmmm dragons milk is my favorite beer. Thanks for making a cocktail with it! Man, within two weeks, youâve made some of my most anticipated drinks- gotta get to the store!
Also, I love what you did with the set!
Thanks, Cale! Amazing what a little lighting can do!
Should have done something like fired nutmeg on top of the black dragon no.13. Would've added to that dragon name!
Anders, we need your version of the French Riviera. It may not be spooky but it's frighteningly sweet. I'm sure you can fix it.
A small dragon scale or fang would have been the perfect decoration for that wonderful last potion (it is Halloween after all...).
What do you mean "where to find a scale or fang?", little dragons are adorable when they grow up, they may play a little rough sometimes (what up, Singed-Eyebrows?), but that's where they can shed a baby scale. They are teething as well, so fangs are definitely around. You just have to know where to look.
And make sure there are no dragon mamas around...
(Btw, for those who are fans of the Diablo video game series... anybody remember the secret "Cow level" in Diablo II? Anders may have inadvertently tipped a hat to that)
BLACK DRAGON No. 13!! Every ingredient in that is amazing - pleasantly surprised to see Averna! All my local bottle shops have run out of Averna this year and I've been dying & trying to make do with Fernet Menta. I have every other ingredient here, so this was the sign I needed - time to go track down this amaro so I can make this today!
Hope you find it!
@@AndersErickson Update: snagged Averna from Curiada (thank you:), tried a nearby Package store for a stout, any stout-and I shit you not, they sold ALMOST NO BEER, only a few hundred liquors, but among the 2 beers in the entire store was Dragon's Milk. That, plus you stirring me with my fave amaro, was clearly a sign I needed to make the BLACK DRAGON No. 13 on this day.
This drink is phenomenal! It's what Renaissance Faire beer/mead cocktails wish they were, it's what barleywines dream of tasting like, and it absolutely carries a thematic spooky flavor. THANK YOU for making these videos and sharing your taste with the rest of us!!!
Fore sure making The black dragon no 13
That Fiery Ginger Syrup has a wonderful warmth to it. I use it for ginger whiskey sours. I think I'll grab some Creme de Cassis and make an El Diablo. Cheers, Anders!
Ginger whiskey sours sound excellent! Cheers, Jasmin!
i think that i could replace the amaro averna with some fernet, and maybe call it Black Dragon N114, or black Culiao N13 (patent pending)
"It could be anything a Spider, a Skull, anything"
Me: SAY DRAGON!!!! đ€Ł
Hahaha yeah I don't know how "dragon" skipped my mind đ
"I am a sexy cow."
I hereby request an original cocktail from you called the "Sexy Cow." đ
Haha I like it đ€
@@AndersErickson There are so many different ways that could go :)
Thumbs up for the Talking Heads reference
Awesome stuff as always!! Any advice on making a zombie punch for a party?
Scale up the recipe you like most and be sure to consider dilution. Add water or have plenty of crushed ice on hand - dilution is paramount with such a strong drink. Last thing you want are a bunch of drunk zombies destroying your party!
@@AndersErickson Awesome, thanks! I was thinking I'd probably drop the overproof rum or something.... This is a great starting point!
Great video, not that you need a gimmick but you totally could've gradually changed into like a werewolf costume lol
Oh wow, I literally looked on your channel for Halloween cocktails yesterday, and couldn't find any from you. And now you uploaded this video! Thank you, Sexy Cow(tm)!
Hey Anders what about hot drinks? This is a chilly time of year and traditionally I do âApple Pie-derâ made famous by Gastrognome in IdyllwildâŠit has tuaca, brandy and applejack with hot honey crisp cider, whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg. Itâs an outstanding hot drink for Halloween đ try it out!
lol at sexy cow. Hey Anders, I was just thinking, isn't it about time for another episode of Tales from the Bar? Maybe as a Christmas present for your faithful viewers???
Thanks Mark! Iâve been thinking about that episode lately - good knowing a follow up would have some fans!
Psycho killer ? Qu'est-ce que c'est??? Nice!!!
Made a haunted house (with falernum as a sub for the Swedish punsch) - delicious. Made a psycho killer⊠omg.. another name could be âcreepy clownâ or âroller coaster train wreckâ one sip says Iâm going to regret this tomorrow.. đ
