Yep one world only has 3 premade sims.
What's insane is that all of the Sims 3 content has not gone below $20. So yes it's much cheaper to buy the entire series but for a 7 year old game it really ought to be half of that.

Yes EA should go back to making Sims 3 Expansion Packs because I believe they left out something big that maybe wasn't that much asked probably, but would be a good idea. They left out, us being able to actually go into grocery stores, and schools and all the work that were still rabbit holes even after Ambitions came out. They should make one just like Go To Work for the Sims 4. It would allow much more things if we can actually control what classes our teens and kids go to during school or go to work with ALL of our Sims, especially if their work was a rabbit hole before.
I feel disconnected from this review because I pirated it like a civil human being.

Hidden Springs is one of my favorite neighborhoods in The Sims 3. I like the lake and pine trees. So beautiful.

Well if sims 5 is even worse than 4, just like 3 the prices will probably half so you can enjoy the dlc for cheaper, but i would say just stick to sims 3 because its the best game in the series imo, it's actually 2 but i like 3 more because the graphics are way better
@@plasmic8968 You're implying that there will be a Sims 5. Looking at how EA acts, there won't be a Sims 5 until Sims 4 sales drop down by a great amount. Sims 3 is the best option and it's cheap compared to Sims 4. Sims 3 really gets a bad rep for no reason especially when it comes to pricing as if you cannot get more stuff per pack compared to Sims 4.
Why pay 20$ when you can download them for free like custom content, it isn't worth it for what you are getting.

It is so weird rewatching these reviews with the way TS4 is going fresh on the mind - 20 dollars for a town was a big stinking cash grab, yeah, especially with the depth that Barnacle Bay and such offered - and still, it's so weird looking at them now and seeing the sheer potential in them. Coming from the stupendously limited, uneditable, hollow and small towns in The Sims 4 kind of drives it home how even mfing Barnacle Bay - which I certainly never paid for -- had more variety and value for cash than most of the schlock shovelled out by the Sims team now for 4.
It makes me tremendously sad to see how far the franchise has fallen... they really just want to make a mobile game. Compare World Adventures (an absolute gem) to that sorry POS Jungle Adventure in both price, content and hype, and it becomes so painfully obvious TS4 will never have more depth than a sieve.
@TheDailyCrumb I didn't waste a dollar on these, just SimPoints I got from promos or as gifts :D
And downloading fan-made towns is totally the way to go, as I pointed out near the end of the video. There's just no way a town is worth twenty or more bucks to me!

@NJmusics If that's all you got out of it, you didn't watch past the first 30 seconds and may not be familiar with my style. Mocking tones, sarcasm and hyperbole are kind of "my thing". Nothing I can do about that, so if you don't wanna watch anymore, have fun elsewhere!
I had no intention of ever getting either of these worlds, but when Hidden Springs went on sale last year, I went ahead and got it. I got Barnacle Bay free for preordering Island Paradise on Origin. Hidden Springs is nice, I like the pool. I played in Barnacle Bay once and that was to check out the town, saved Nina & Dina to the bin and haven't ben back since. I've downloaded better worlds from the Exchange for free.
I bought Barnacle Bay. 😂 It was an impulse buy. Saw it, grabbed it, took it home, and didn’t even notice that it was only a code until I got home and opened the box.

@IAmTheRad Yeah, pretty much. It came with the original game, and I already covered that when it first released two and a half years ago.
The only thing I really do like about Hidden Springs is that it looks like its modeled after Berne or Zurich in Switzerland :)

@BanjoGate There are some magic items on the Sims 3 Store, but they do not currently come with any towns, only as separate items.

@gottagame9000 Yes, as far as I know they should install just fine since they install through The Sims 3 Launcher, so it shouldn't be dependent on any kind of digital distribution platform.

@V3ryan Unfortunately, that's only half true. All that comes on the Hidden Springs DVD is Origin: the EA download service. You still have to put in a code to download the town, just like Barnacle Bay.

@TheChuckysmith Yes I have, and have it installed to my game! It's awesome. There's also a Vice City town for download by Fresh Prince, it's freaking crazy. And yes, I'd totally buy Minecraft WAY before I even considered buying these towns. I'm not sure that's even a fair comparison there, heh.

I love these reviews, even the new ones that aren't really "reviews" so much as just playing them, and I think it's great that other simmers are willing to gift them too you.
@V3ryan They haven't announced anything about a useless retail copy yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do eventually.
@ohohothisrocks No plant sims. Just sims with green skin, which you have in all versions of the game that I know of.
@kingraider7 Why wouldn't they want people to spend their points? That's kind of the whole idea of the store. And besides, they still sell Hidden Springs in the store. I really doubt that's the reason at all.
As other commenters have noted, it's now available on Origin, the new digital distribution service heavily being pushed by EA right now. It make sense for them to put it on there to get people to use their service.
@thedeterminator1 Yeah, CZcams's subscription box service hasn't been working the past couple days for some people. Working fine for me, but I know a lot of my friends are having issues so it's likely rather widespread. Oh well, people will find this eventually, I'm not worried :)

I got monte vista and hidden springs for 9$ at walmart and it's definitely worth that at 4.50$ each town but no way worth 20-20$

Umm, that was not the launch price, dude. $20 is its original price, but it may vary depending on where you look and what kind of sale is on.
I have to get something to know if it's any good or not. I can't very well make a fully informed decision on if the actual content is worth it until I've tried it for myself. Once I did, I decided these towns are overpriced, and I haven't bought any more since.

I don't like that Barnacle Bay is essentially Sunset Valley, but since Sims 3 is 11 years old, I can get decent prices on the boxed versions of the towns, so spending the money on things other than Sweet Treats isn't the worst thing for me

I got this one & Monte Vista (packaged together) on sale. Didn't feel so wasteful. Hidden Springs is pretty & it's fun to play rich people occasionally.

When I got the Sims 3 for my birthday way back in the day, the person who gave it to me also got me Ambitions and Hidden Springs, I did enjoy the town but seeing how much it was, it makes me realize that it is really a waste of money.

The Fountain of Youth can be found under Decor > Statues. It's one of the last ones available at §495,000. It will be a dark gray lump looking thing
