    Awesome video. Thanks so much! I have a crack free dashboard replacement for my '91 900 SE. This video has given me confidence that I can replace it if I go slowly. Apart from the cracked dash I have a bad dimmer switch that needs replacing. Is removing the airbag as easy as you make it look? That's the part I'm most nervous about.

    We have matching C900 convertibles! I have been postponing doing this exact repair and seeing your video has given me the confidence to dive in and get this done. Was your replacement dashpad an OEM unit or one you restored? I restored mine and realized the 92 should have a graphite colored pad instead of the earlier satin black. So I need to re-color it and then install it using this video as nspiration! Please feel free to do as many Saab repair videos as you desire. I have enjoyed all of them so far!

      Thank you...
      Here in Nordic there is still quite a few parts card going arond for parts you dont find as new.
      But still many new parts is avilable.
      Previous Saab dealers still suoly parts from Orio (the original Saab spare part company).
      Orio Original Saab actually have their own webshop.
      But crack free dashes is also getting more and more rare here in Nordic.

      I remember I did replace the heater fan motor in my 1972 142 DL.
      The fuse box and all wirings was wrapped up around in front of the heater matrix, behind the center consol, so everything had to be diccconect and removed to get in to the heater fan.

    • @TerjeNormann
      @TerjeNormann  Před 3 lety +2

      You mean the green light inside the instrument cluster?
      Have you checked the bulbs sitting on the back side of the cluster?
      You get to them by removing the speaker grille on top of the dash.
      One other faulty alternative is the reostat llight dimmer is broken.

    Hi Terje. Do you know if all OG900 dashes fit to convertibles (‘91)? Located in Denmark and getting a crack-free from a sedan or combicoupe is easier than from a convertible..

    • @TerjeNormann
      @TerjeNormann  Před 3 lety

      In general, all dashes fits all og900 regardless of which model (Combi 3/5door / sedan2/4 door or convertible) they come from.
      BUT... There is year model difference. Up to 1987 the dashes has thinner bolstering, and 1988 and newer have ticker bolsering.
      Mine is the newer version, so with the ticker bolstering.
      IF you put an older thin version dash in a 1988-> car, you will get a little gap between the dash and the A-pilar trim. You can fix it with also to replace the A-pillar trim belonging to the thin dashes.
      If you try to put a tick version dash into the ->1987 cars, you get problem to get it all in.. And also you can fix that by replace the A-pillar trim same way.

      No, it is just hold by some tabs and can be pulled stright out. But the plasic as become brittle after 30years so be careful not to break the tabs.
