  • The Second round of the UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup has shown that new faces have arrived to the scene and they are here to say. In the Women's field Loana Lecomte had a race of her own, winning by the biggest ever margin in a Cross-Country World Cup race in Nove Mesto na Morave. In the Men's race Tom Pidcock delivered a stellar performance, leaving everyone a full minute behind and became the first British male rider to win a World Cup race since 1994.

    I'm genuinely intrigued as to how Red Bull has all this high quality up close footage from numerous cameras and none of it is used during the race coverage - still super grateful to be able to watch it at all though 😉

      During actual event it is live streaming, aside from being it hard to switch between all the cams in real time, not all cameras are streaming live video.
      Also close ups you see are short clips of what would have been mostly crap footage if it was streamed live.
      So it makes sense to go over those footages in post production and select the short clips that actually add value or act like a B roll

    • @hobmarg
      @hobmarg Před 3 lety +4

      There are limits to what you can reasonably produce live, they can't have unlimited live cam feeds being worked on in the truck and some of this looks like it's super high end cameras which I doubt you can have bandwidth to broadcast back to the truck, process the video and stream it live to the web.

    mvdp might be a little too heavy for such steep and long climbs. With cycle cross he can punch up the short steep climbs, but not with MTB. I think he will need to drop some weight to get a better watt per kg (if there is anything to drop). It is a joy to watch him, because of his power and fantastic racing style (taking no prisoners). Pidcock is truly built for this sport.

    • @andymiller3889
      @andymiller3889 Před 3 lety +2

      Absolutely. XCO is all about W/kg and how well do you climb. It was not an accident that both of the winners were incredibly small riders. Some courses will be more advantageous for those with top wattage, and some will go the direction of the lightest, but over a season, top W/kg will win-out.

I'm guessing just like when people had his height at 1.57m, the 50KG weight probably came from numbers from when he was a junior.

      It is not because they are multidisciplinary riders the reason why they win, it is the opposite: they are freak of nature and they can win in any discipline. What is changing is the approach among the disciplines and the fact that the International Teams are more and more accepting to let these incredible riders to enjoy in different disciplines. On the other hand, they could benefit from different techniques leaning more skills as well as to build a more complete organism racing long distance, GC in road racing, short but extremely intense effort during cyclocross races and then, but not last, in mountain biking.

      Won the Junior worlds cyclo cross in 2017, went straight to Elite after one year at U23, no results for the first 2 years at Elite, but improving all the time. 1st Elite wins this year, only now coming into his strength. You need to get your facts straight before accusing people of doping.

    So... when do the results for EPO come out? Nvm, they will never will as Ineos owns the UCI... Unfortunately different measures for different riders, right? In 2010, there was a similar case with polish brothers winning the under-23 World Cross Country Cup who got caught with it, but unfortunately for them, they were poor and didnt even have money to contest the decision... very sad where this sport is going... Everyone who leaves Ineos never wins anything relevant again 🤷

      @@dpcater Na you're a British Ineos puppet. Gullible kid. Froome and Wiggins both got caught but since big money owns the UCI it got scrapped. Do some research son. Sit down.

    Horrible Recap. Lauren was annoying. One minute she doesn't have a mask on the next she's wearing a mask. lol.. What again happened to the spoiled rich girl from Marin County? "I was born to Mountain Bike". lmfao.. Looks like 2021 is going to be a silly season.
