I have watched your videos since the beginning, so lucky to have access to some fantastic lessons. For the past dozen or so you seem spend your time trying to direct your lessons away from the central point your instructor has identified and over complicating things. You then appear to go the course and not putting it into practice. (recent putting lesson as an example - you went to the course and barely did any of the routine and reading he taught you). I would love you to reach your goal of scratch, but feel you would be so much closer to it if you followed through with what you learn. Almost every lesson you end up having a break through then by the next its like you have forgotten or ignored because it doesn't feel like what is in your head. I'm cheering you on, but get out of your head and embed your big break through lessons!

This. Dude hasn't figured out that it's not like bball. You can score a thousand different way and still be good. In golf, you have to shoot almost the same way. You have to remember and do everything from beginning to end, all the time. He hasn't gotten that down yet.
An former baller, think about it like how you work on your FTs. You start 3 feet from the hoop. Work on release. Step back 3 ft. More legs. Make slight adjustments to calibrate. Repeat.
Move away from technical aspect of it. Work on feel.

I've learned a great deal from all the coaches. From Chris, Xander's Coach, The Putting Guru with charting 3 wedges and your current one that is combining everything into one. Seems he wants you to recenter as the club reaches the top by falling back to your lead hip, then start the down swing, and square the club, but you are doing it in one motion after the club is at the top and rotating to your lead hip and face is open. This should be done slow or fast in one motion to practice but you're analytical brain is breaking this part up into sections and its harder to sense the drop to the lead hip when club is at the top. You're still ahead of millions of old and new golfers.

I started back just before Christmas and couldn’t hit my irons let alone my driver. Tonight it felt like I was starting to swing easier and could maintain width, more accuracy, more distance and more importantly my confidence back.

New to the channel, great progress btw mate. I’ve seen your most recent videos and I see a lot of inconsistency with contact, ball flight etc. I just saw this older video and by far the most solid ball striking I’ve seen. My question is why try and tinker with the mechanics of the swing even more after these “inputs”? These swing thoughts have been the simplest for you to understand and execute imo. I wonder if it’s a case of swing overload, especially with your a-type personality. Either way, great attitude and hard work. Cheers

Coach Dana and Coach Chris has given you a ball flight shape which seems to Right to Left. The Draw. So that's the path. Now look at this video and see where the alignment stick is aimed. It looks like a pull shape. To use your right to left path, you'll need to turn more to the right which is why Dana said you need to learn how to control the direction. Can't tell much but it looks like ball is too far back as well and club face will be open. Moving it forward will allow club to square more. You'll need to play with ball placement and now the side bend combined.

Where it’s telling is when Watching the first 5-10mins of this, you were “hearing” him but not really “listening” and applying. It was kinda frustrating to watch actually 😂 you’ve improved a ton since you started, but with all the information you have, it’s hard to isolate the moment and the current session because you’re trying to apply everything you’ve learned outside of this specific lesson/session. Not sure it makes sense, but I suggest you simplify your coaches so you can simplify your game. Keep it up bro, im on my journey back to scratch as well.

You should learn to shorten the swing first. Then get less wrists once that's second nature, then start thinking about less side movement etc. The amount of times he had to say don't release your hands after the swing cause you'd forget. Cause there was so much else to think about.. puts me off coaching

That's not stack and tilt at all. It's just a traditional swing with fewer moving parts. The time he told him to keep his weight left was when he was hitting smaller shots where there's not enough of a swing for a full weight shift.

You're thinking too much. Step back and take a break.
In bball, when you're shooting, you're not thinking, "my hand needs to be here, elbow has to be here, my knees to bend this much, your wrist needs to be etc.
Every athlete is built differently. You're trying to incorporate too many concepts in your practice before working on being consistent with each part. You don't teach a beginner shooter to change every part of the shooting motion. Let your coach guide you there. You need to work on being consistent and letting what you're practicing to be second nature. That's why you're platueuing.

I would quit talking so much when he is doing drills. The drills are not part of your swing . He is asking you not to shift your weight in the short swing drill. He is trying to emphasize contact

Dana is a great coach with valuable insight. But he’s not for you. Jerome you’re just not listening!

Way too much thinking. Golf is hard and it takes time. Too many swing thoughts and “coaches”. Stick with this guy and have patience.
