    That is why Jack wanted to retire in 1985-86 and turn the reigns over to Jim Peck. Jim was a great subhost and if Jack did not die, TJW would still have stayed on even into the 1990's, maybe even today.

      Maybe not, cause J! and WOF were powerhouse in the ratings

    Jack Barry didn't realize, that Natalia got a Natural triple.

    Natural Triples in a bonus game has happened many times during the nine straight seasons. Only a few times happened during the first spin.

      Robert Lopresti I think one of the few times a natural triple occurred on the first spin in the bonus game was during Hal Shear's rise to being the top winner (at that time). As I recall, it happened on his 12th crack at the bonus game. After the prize package he was going for had been described, he pulled that arm back & let it go, and, bam! $25, $25, $25. Quite literally: one, and done (but resulting in a win).

    I have NOT gotten as into watching tv as much as I have watching these old game shows from the 60s, 70s and beyond

    I don't think that would've mattered Jeopardy and Wheel were juggernauts and ratings would've still been high for them

      You are very correct. The powerhouse, of Wheel and Jeopardy cleaned TJW/TTD's clocks.

    It WAS the "Bonus Island" theme for BULLSEYE. Remember that Bullseye was a B&E production as well AND Bullseye was on from 1980-82.
    Good catch though

      BULLSEYE was an AWESOME Game Show with an AWESOME Set, but I felt like the show just didn't get its just due even though it was short-lived
      I watched it in reruns on CBN, USA and GSN

    On Bullseye, they announced the total of the prize package without whatever cash would be won, which would be anywhere from $200 to $5000.

    Of course, if I had been president of the NBC Television Stations Group at the time, I would have snapped up the local rights to "The Joker's Wild" and "Tic-Tac-Dough" right away, that way, nobody would have to retire undefeated. I would have also done the same thing for "Wheel of Fortune", "Jeopardy!", "Entertainment Tonight", and "The People's Court."

    I noticed something: all of B&E's prizes all round the total to the nearest 50, instead of oddball numbers.

    @juan833cheer Sure did same rules apply. You get a Natural Triple--in this case 3 of a kind--you automatically win.

    @supergamer7473 Před 15 lety

    Actually, if you spun three Bullseyes on the first spin, you win $10,000, plus the prizes. Oh, how I would love to see a clip of that.......

    @mtprice1978 The whole prize package is $4,700. The prize is $3,700 and the cash is $1,000. That $4,700 and her $500, which is $5,200.

    @johnissoevil TJW and TTD were sick chickens that were getting karma done to them. the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were taking over and B&E's decline became more apparent by the end as the production values of their shows resembled porno movies

  • @johnissoevil
    @johnissoevil Před 15 lety

    Sadly, regardless of host, TJW's ratings had fallen even before Jack died, so the show was a goner anyway.

    • @tnawcwvictoria
      @tnawcwvictoria Před 3 lety

      Exactly, when BULLSEYE was cancelled, that's when TJW & TTD began to fall
      Not only that, but with the debut on Newsmagazines like Entertainment Tonight & PM Magazine as well as the debut of The People's Court with the late Judge Wapner all debuting in 1981 hurt both shows even more and yes, even with the debut of Nighttime Wheel of Fortune with Pat & Vanna (Daytime Wheel was still going strong on NBC Daytime) and the revived JEOPARDY! with the late Alex Trebek as well as the debut of Love Connection with Former Wheel of Fortune Host Chuck Woolery and Daytime Talk Shows takin' over with the likes of Donahue, Sally and after TJW & TTD were cancelled came Oprah and later Geraldo and more Court Shows came aboard with Scripted Court Shows like Superior Court (from the producers of The People's Court) Divorce Court & The Judge
