We moved there in 84 & the Deobald brothers were still running it. They were old school in the sense that they would let me use their tire machine & bubble balancer to change rims from summer tires to winter tires. They were two cool old Dudes & we had a young family with more time than money so they really did me a favor letting me swap my tires out. We lived across & two streets up on the hill. Left for Saint Maries in 95 but we have a lot of fond memories of our time living in Kendrick. I ran the Head Saw at Gem State Lumber in Juliaetta which is now a pole yard.
So cool. I watched these in the wrong order but it didn’t take away from my childlike fascination with discovering new things. My brother and I used to explore old buildings like this when we were kids and this just took me back. ☺️
I grew up just the street, and I remember an old man that used to run the shop named Charlie. My dad would talk to him sometimes. He always gave me hard candy. I remember when this place was open, I live far away now and won’t likely return but I am glad to see someone make it come to life again.
This is so awesome....So much history in one building . Went from building a Datsun to restoring and old fridge "Betty White" 😎😎to fixing up an old garage. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and we are so looking forward to watching this channel grow. 💯💯
Welome to the Community. So glad someone loves this old building. Congratulations and I will be stopping in sometime to see the results. May you be blessed in all you do here.
The correct architectural term for the walk-through door within another door is a "wicket door". This is true with any door within a door, such as the little "speak-easy" door opening to view who was knocking on the door.
So glad you guys bought the old garage. I remember it well. You brought back so many memories… and the family you purchased this from is top notch and well loved in the community. Enjoy this place…
I love how excited you guys are. I am 47 years old an I remember going with my grandpa to get gas & oil or batteries. While he would visit & smoke I would drink soda out of the glass bottles that you pulled out of the .25 cent machine. There was also a .10 cent candy machine that I would get lemonheads out of & I remember there was an old cigarette machine in tbe office too. Congratulations guys, so happy for you! Happy the garage is alive again! I would love to come visit.
This is a aweaome video!! So cool that you two are bringing an old gas station back to life!! Im the founder of THE SERVICE STATION on Facebook, and i am already thrilled to see a part of history being revitalised.
@@WrenchChill I’ve been dreaming of moving to pierce for the past few years and y’all are almost pretty much neighbors to em! If it’s not too late by the time I get out there I’d love to donate some time to getting that place back to beautiful, but who knows how long that may be, I think California is purgatory!

Thanks Colby! You guys need to come check it out!
@@WrenchChill oh absolutely it's happening haha

It really is!! Hope to have another episode out soon 🙂
Congrats! Incredible place! Love it! Can't wait to follow along.
Thank you! 🙂 Hope to have more videos out soon!
@@WrenchChill not so patiently waiting... 😂
Finding time to edit has so tough lately with all of these garage projects, but I'll try! 😂😂
Guys, be REALLY careful of any asbestos in that place - it kills!!
Most definitely!! Thankfully, all of that old fiberboard in there is asbestos free, but we still wear our respirators to be safe 🙌
Just found your channel and subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Awesome, thank you! 😊
And...... any possibility of lead based paint. Apparently you can get a DIY testing unit if any area looks dodgy
It's safe to assume that most of this paint is lead-based, so we are definitely taking precautions! Thanks for looking out Jack 🙂
Would you guys ever open the shop as a business? I would love working in an old shop like that!
Maybe one day! 😊
