I've always loved the Taj Mahal stage. The stormy, dusk sky and melancholic music was such a unique and different choice for a stage set in India of all places.
They actually have TONS of stages in TEKKEN 2. DIdnt realise this!
No so much as Tekken 2 having a ton of stages and BGMs. It's standard flare back in the 90s. Nowadays no fighting games are even willing to provide characters with their own unique BGMs, much less their own stages.

just by looking at the street fighter series i find it very nice of capcom to acknowledge these themes like with guile,ryu,chun li,sakura,akuma and many more

The Moonlit Madness Stage in Tekken 5 and TT2 is Reminiscent to this stage, The Sunset Temple Stage in Tekken 5 is also reminiscent to Ganryu Stage as well

This game looked awesome at the time, but the leap in graphics from this to Tekken 3 was astounding.

I agree that Tekken 3 was a big graphical improvement, but I really don't vibe with Tekken 3 for some reason. I should love it because of nostalgia, but the music and atmosphere (mostly) are just not for me.

TEKKEN 2 had some excellent stages, but I have to say that 20:03 is my absolute favorite.
The stage, the music, and Yoshimitsu's 1P costume were absolutely perfect. Ever since I was young I've felt this way and no matter how many times I play, I always look forward to this stage and get excited when I see that I have to vs Yoshimitsu.
A very close second would be vsing Kazuya on his stage.

Wow, seeing 17:43 is still heartbreaking after all these years.
Though its not my favorite, I find Ruined London's level the most intriguing, with a very compelling storyline. While one of the world's biggest cities plays post-apocalyptic host to a derelict Big Ben, its' sand crags and murky water is both chilling, and quite depressing. All those people, gone... it must've been one hell of a war for the entire city to be evaporated. Though its obviously highly unlikely, this level could be interpreted by a lore fanatic as a slight foresight into the Mishima-Zaibatsu/G Corp war in the coming Tekkens.
On a side note, why was Armor King's theme so haunting? I don't remember his storyline being so creepy that it required such music, but its been years so I'm sure I forgot something. I just found it odd, and also amusing that there are three desert levels, all in the U.S. XD
You'd be more surprised to know that all those three deserts are nothing but New Mexico.

Tekken 1 and 2 sound like an 80’s brazilian soap opera... and Kazuya is surely the true Tekken villain of all time!
Tekken 2 is the best when it comes to making stages and music that fit the characters.
I tried to figure out which part of Arizona's Dessert Michelle Chang Stage is. I liked the stone shape, I searched on the web pictures about Arizona Desert but I couldn't find exactly the place Michelle Fights :(

This stage is very creepy.
I love Kyoto, it looks pretty and has a great theme. Heihachi's is also one of my favorites, I love the atmosphere, and the music is great, though I think the arcade track is better. A lot of these stages are great to be honest.
