This kit is the most gorgeous I've seen. No where near as gorgeous as nicks playing though. Nick is the GROOVIEST man I've seen.
đ
What are you, a 5yr old? đ€Ł
You should start exploring about drums
What you said about Nick was right. He's good.
Ha fun
I am 8 months into owning this kit. And it has been a joy to play them. Rock solid and so musical. Using an iron cobra 900 double pedal and the ic 900 hi hat stand and they just work. Put them where you want and they just stay there. The snare took me a bit to get it where I could use it as an everyday snare. Iâm an acrolite long time user and the wood snare was a bit of a learning curve. The finish on these are just amazing. The finish has moods that change with every lighting situation. Looking forward to seeing how this kit ages. Iâm sure itâs not going anywhere.
This is why I love Tama so much, they put in just as much care into their "affordable" kits as they do in the high end kits. Of course Nick can make a trash can sound amazing so there is that also!!!
Feel the same way man. I've played the stagestar when I was younger, Swingstar, Rockstar, and worked my way up to Starclassic. Strongest name in drums!
Your playing is, as always, amazing!!! And this kit sounds really great. I like the sound without any dampening. Typical great TAMA quality.
Very good value for your money! Itâs the reason why I play Tama for 40 years now.
Came here because I own a superstar classic and I value Nick's thoughts and just love watching this guy have fun on the kit and talk about gear. Thx sweetwaterđ€
Love this kit. Bought it myself
Great sounding quality drums and best bargain out there for maple Shell's. Thank you Nick for being so thorough.
The bass drums on Tamas have always been cannons !!! I've played Tamas my entire life and this is my next kit in Blue Lacquer. They sounds really nice with Attack heads on the toms !!!
Iâve heard that Attack heads are great how do they sound ?
These drums are singing outlandishly! Love how wide open they are set. Sounds amazing!
đđ
Really impressive drum kit at an achievable price point for every drummer. And great playing as always Mr. Nick!
They sound amazing.
They sound amazing. Love the sound of the clear heads.
đđ
Definitely the best heads I got clear on my toms .
That is a beautiful kit. Gotta love Tama drums. I played Tama's for years and they have some of the most affordable, best sounding drums & hardware.
I agree 100 percent with you on that I own these and they are awsome they sound as good as more expensive drums .except I have the 7 piece dark red sparkle.
Nick is the man! Such a great and talented drummer! I want this set now!
I love how that set sounds
We do too! đđ€
That bass drum sounds killerrrrrr. Love the tiny bit of rumbling resonance to it. Honestly Tama has killed it with this affordable midrange yet professional kit. I have the Tama starclassic bb hyperdrives which are my main kit and love it to death. Bought the Tama superstar classics as a gigging kit I can beat up and take the abuse and not worry too much. Got a 4 piece 2 up 1 down for 400 dollars from dales drum shop, opted to take out the snare drum to lower the price since I would never use it. Itâs not near a starclsssic but for the price you canât beat it! And it mostly comes down to feel, when you are playing in a live show, 99.9 percent of the people listening wonât be able to tell the difference between a 400 dollar kit and a high end kit but you can feel the difference in how the kit rebounds the Stick back and how robust the hardware is but man this kit has served me so well and would buy it 10 times over again. I prefer this kit over any other midrange kit and a lot of kits that are much more expensive from other brands
So glad I moved to PA and discovered Dales!
You chose wisely, mine came with the snare and it's garbage, but the rest of the kit is really great, and I have a Starclassic Birch to compare it to. There's definitely a big difference in the hardware quality but for the most part they're pretty high quality except for the snare of course. I really love the kick and the high toms.
I'm sure that this video helps a lot to exploding the sales of this kit to the space!!! Amazing show Mr.Di Virgilio, amazing sounding drums !!!
Thats my favorite choose at all my life this set are amazing so far đ„đ„đ„đđ»đđ»
Great playing and great description and demo of the kit. Thanks Nick
đđ€
Love my superstar classics! Great value maple kit for the money.
As always, fantastic video and playing Nick!
Such a huuuge bass drum sound!
These drums do sound great.
I play these at my church.
Seriously, that drum sound amazing. Killer kick and thé toms have a nice tome, floors wow,. As usual, Nick is the men.
Beautiful kit! Nick is the manâŠâŠ
Love me some Tama drums and of course Nick is the best. Thanks!!
I adore these kits
Love TAMA. Great review Nick, âȘ
Get mine Tuesday. Final piece to building my 10 year dream kit with all rack system. Canât wait!
Monster drummer! Too good!
Wow, those sound awesome. Stop by to see Nick play, and the drums were a huge bonus!!!!
đ€Łđ
Great playing Nick đ
Nick is awesome đ. Love those drums.
I have a superstar custom from 2005 and have played them all over and in every condition. It stands up to any kit out there
Nick is a AMAZING DRUMMER !! đđ»đđ»đđ»
đ
The finish is beautiful... đ
đ„°đ„°đ„°
Have this same kit, I put 3.0 mm triple flanged hoops on the snare and 2.3 mm triple flanged hoops on toms...great resonance and tone..Tama does it again
Love watching Nick Rock Out on that Sweet Tama Kit đ„đ„đ„đ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒđ€đŒ

Experienced drummer here:
Great quality and sound and I can imagine it with a 2ply deep sounding heads.
For that 1000 price range brand new I'd buy this one over Pearl decade, Yamaha Stage and others. I've been a Sonor Phonic, Pearl x 3 Session/Masters/ Session Custom and now Tama Starclassic all birch db bass
Tama DrumsâŠAbsolutely no substitute.
I know the 'industry standard' is 8x7, 10x8, 12x9. But you guys have got to do a drum video for POWER TOM players. A little variety would be great. Every drum video you publish features the same sizes. POWER TOM players are also a part of the drumming community. Drumming is fun, crazy big drums are fun too! Show these younger players what they are missing! You can do it! :)
I couldn't agree with you more man, I miss the days of the big, deep power toms.
Agreed!!!!
I found one of these on craigslist for 500 bucks, I had to drive 3 hours in a snowstorm to get it but it was so worth it. Would highly recommend even for the full price, happily would've payed 3x as much as I did.
OK Who else clicked just to watch Nick play? LOL.... But I live how the toms sound...snare as it is here is a bit too rings for my taste...but then Nick plays and it all sounds perfect! đ
Uh snares today are supposed to have the ring in it .
@@erictorres4889 But I donât like it...personal preference
@@BEElaine1008 what ever .
@@BEElaine1008 no one is happy with anything these days people bitch and gripe about things thatâs stupid to gripe about . Nothing wrong with the ring besides itâs better cuts through guitars easier.
@@BEElaine1008 if you donât like it why did you bother saying anything about it ?
Nick,
tht ending wuz BADDASS
Grate Drums, bravo Tama !!!!!!!!!
These sound killer! Especially when you consider they've got the stock heads.
Great set and great drumming!
đđ
Holy cow those Tomâs sound amazing! Youâll sell some kits off this video guaranteed.
It's always great when the sellers representative can actually play drums! Very cool sounding TamaÂŽs. Especially the bass drum. Enough playing to hear the the set and enough information to get a picture about the set. A very good demo. Again.
I have this exact kit coming.
best drums and the color is unbeatable got the same one on the way
Tamas toms just always have a beautiful note center and tonal spread that no one else does. so melodic
Aww beautiful
And I'm a proud owner for two years of this exact same kit in the same color and configuration. I put remo clear emps on mine with just a little moon jell in the right spots and boom. It sounds like the quality of a starclassic or star. Awesome Awesome kit! Very solid craftsmanship and that color, killer. I run the double 910 speed cobra's on it with Mienl byzance series cymbals. You just can't beat this kit for the money compared to any other brands on the market.
Awesome!đđ€
Your supposed to let a maple drumset ring .
@@erictorres4889 it has plenty of resonance even with the slight dampening I'm using. The studio room I'm using is 16x16 so it sounds better dampened in a smaller space. If I'm playing in a big open space I could remove the dampening and it would sound better. Basically I'm turning and dampening my kit to fit the environment it's in. Small areas no damp it rings way to much.
I played a set of these at guitar center a few weeks ago and they sounded EXACTLY the same in person.
I have an old cherry wine superstar from back in the 80s. Man I love that kit. It has been up and down the road with me and I will never ever sell it.
Although these sound great, your kit was Tama's flagship of its day, and much better quality. All of Rush's albums from 1979 through 1987 was recorded with Neil's superstar drums. Also, your kit was made in Japan, where this one is Chinese made. You've done good in not selling them.
Cheers đ
Amazing sound and amazing review (as usual, great job Nick!) Love the wide open sound, however Iâd use clear emperors instead.
very good! nick thanks so lot.
đđ
Damn you can play any kind of music and pull it off!
I put the Remo emperors on the snare and it sounds amazing .
These shells look as nice as many DW customs. If nobody told me I would think they cost several thousand.Amazing sound!
This boy got some style
great kit for the money.
đđ€
I personally love the wide open sound on my bass drum I love my Tama superstar classic drums
Great as always. Would be extra wonderful if Tama went back to the 83 Superstar birch with power toms for a limited run.
the drums sound good.but these cymbals, sound awesome!
Can I just say WOW!!!!!! Those babies are simply stunning! Sound a lot like my Ludwig kit ,same setup but I have 14x14 and 16x16! Fathers day is almost here hmmmmm đ€,think ill click that link now
Treat yo' self! đ€Ł
Much better than the Gretch you demoed recently in both looks and sound!
I got this exact on Black Friday! Evans UV2 heads on top with EMAD2 bass and HD Dry snare help make this kit sound amazing! maple shells are great. I play Meinl too.
Awesome! đ„
@@sweetwater Cole Madley hooked it up with a great deal and price match! I'm a die hard Sweetwater fan and free candy is always nice too
great to hear these in a 'lower' tuning ....
The real drum off winner
Also the snare sounds so awesome. Sounds like something chad smith would endorse
Sorry, the snare sounds awful! Way too much over ring!
@@johngunther6801 just put a dampener
Sorry man, I donât need to, my snare drum always sounds good!
@@johngunther6801 niceeeđ€đ€
It sounds fantastic and raw
My Pros & Cons: I like that this is a 7-piece kit at a great price. I also like the sizes of the toms and that there is a tom mount on the bass drum and the floor toms have legs. I find that configuration to be faster for me to set up than using floating toms mounted on stands, that sometimes get top heavy with the floor toms. However, I would prefer that it came with a 22 x 16 bass instead of an 18-inch-deep bass. I have an 18-inch-deep bass on my Tama Starclassic and a Pearl Session bass drum that is 16 inches deep on my Pearl set, and I find the shorter bass drum to be easier to move, carry, and take up less room in my vehicle, especially since I use cases. In fact, I miss my 14" bass drums that I had with my Ludwig set years ago. :-) I'm also not a fan of the finish, but the other finishes don't have the reduced price. Thanks for your demo!
Always love the drum demo videos. Is it possible to demo all of the different brands of "octobans" ?
Okay I've never really paid much attention to Tama but those drums sound amazing. Easily as good as DW's
I can't believe how good these things sound with the cheap heads on.
đ
This is a 1200$ entry level kit. And u just compared it DW. GET A GRIP
That snare would sound so beautiful with some moon gelsđ
No it wouldnât I love the ring in the snare cuts through the other instruments
Awesome
I donât play drums but even I can see that this is a nice kit - in a treated room and miked up well - mmm
Nice!
Wow...this sounds better than some super-high end kits. Really sings.
Yup agreed
nick has the best job in the world
đ€Łđ
I love that you demoed the kit without anything in the bass drum
The sounds amazing Nick . I got a starclassic never sell it mate
Thatâs the best ride Iâve heard. I wonder what meinl it is
I have set up drums as a tech for many of the elite session players in L.A...Trust me when i tell you it's all about figuring out the angle of the bearing edge, head combos and good ears..This kit sounds as good as many D.W.,Yamaha.and any other company you want to mention..My point being that plenty of people i know spent over $5,000.00 on a kit that does not come close to sounding like these...
I know right ? What a waste on money I will take these over more expensive drums
Do a video on the Sonor AQ2 stage set pls
cool intro
đ
I was there on Monday.
Thanks for visiting, Evan! đđ
Thanks Nick I just watched this video because I recently bought this shellpack with the Tama 4 piece low pitch octabons, MEINL dark classic extended cymbol pack, Evans reverse dot snare heads, Remo pinstripe tom heads, Aquarius kick head,
Evans Black on the outside, all Tama road series hardware with iron cobra double bass pedals & hi-hat stabd, I've already been playing this awesome kit for 2 weeks straight with different variations it's so true for studio recording to go all open with this kit Tama has definitely maintained 1 of their grandfather classics, my 1st official performance in 1982 my hs stage band was behind a 5 piece superstar way to go Tama!!! everything you'll find from a DW performance series for thousands less, my grand total $5,592.64, the DW performance series set up like mine $10,786.79 just to compare & show that on a humble budget & raw talent you can sound just like the pro's without their bankroll â€đ„đđ
When you played the bass it sounded like the song from Space Balls when the druids waltz thru the dessert
I really wish you guys would have put quality heads on those for the sales pitch. Night and day difference in sound.
QuĂ© bello suena esa baterĂa por favorrrrrrr !!!!!!!!
My first kit I saved up for was a Tama Swingstar. I went Tama because of Stew. ?Back in those days, you got the whole thing, not a shell pack. This was 1982.
If this kit was in dark blue, just add 4 otabans and et viola, Copeland look alike.
I bought that kit 2 weeks ago (Same Finish) and then they filled all of the back orders so I canceled the order and got a Pearl Decade Maple. That kit he's playing right now is probably the one I bought lmfao
Superstar is superb in sound and quality
beauty
đ€©đ
To be honest I would love a 20 inch bdrum with this kit .
Great demo Nick. Iâm sorry if I missed this but what are the models of the Meinl cymbals? They sound awesome too. Thanks!
Beautiful kit sounds great, snare needs some dampening.
No it doesnât it sounds better without it .
Can you do a video on the Sonor AQ2 series?
Great video. These drums sound good, but for the Money you can Buy a Mapex Armory, add the 8" tom and the Mapex sound better. But still a good sounding kit.
If I buy this kit will I be able to play like Nick???
Take my money đ
