  • Here is a quick video on how I like to adjust my high mixture setting screw on my Echo Weedeater line trimmer carburetor. This works for the low idle adjustment screw and the high rpm adjustment screw. This is a touchy procedure so make sure you do it properly or you can and will do damage to your machine. This procedure is pretty much identical to any 2 stroke / 2 cycle carburetor, like on a chainsaw or a leaf blower, weed whacker etc. Its the same sort of procedure on Stihl brand weed eater / chainsaw or Husqvarna etc. Some people say these carburetors are non adjustable, but I think they are wrong, watch this video and you will see. This adjustments were performed on a SRM 225 model trimmer but this method also works well on the PAS powerhead units as well.

Awesome thanks! I used a small screw to thread into the plug and pull it out.

After being in the barn and forgotten for about 6 years, I was pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. After I found this video, and drilled the cap out, 1-1/4 turns to the left and it’s running like a sewing machine 🙌

Just wanted to say thank you very much for the video. I put an amazon generic carb on mine and could not even get it to start. Out of the numerous videos a watched not one of them mentioned the low speed mixture screw that you did. On this carb there were no caps blocking either screw but both were turned in all the way. Thank god I got the kit that had the screwdriver included. What I also noticed is they leave it up to you to shorten the return line? hose. Both nipples on the new carb are the same size so its easy to get them mixed up so it won't run at half tank and also the vent hose will push fuel out whole time. Now it actually runs to good and cuts as good at idle as it did at full throttle. Too funny. Thanks again . Now I don't have to throw it across the yard again until it need another carb.

Best video yet on high/low adjustment thanks bud..

She hit the sweet spot I can’t wait to do this. My echo been running hella rich and my filter is soaked in gas after like 2 months. Hope this fixes my problem

Outstanding! My GT225 always 4 stroked mostly. I had just replaced the carburetor as part of a tuneup kit ($13.50 included carb, spark plug, gaskets, fuel lines, & fuel bulbs) & couldn’t find mixture screws. Found this great vid and the ‘ol Echo runs better than new. Aftermarket carb didn’t even have the limiter caps - score!

the little brass nut was smashed on mine and the little plug thing you pulled out with that tool I had to break it up and dig it out with a precision screwdriver set, but I got to the little flat head adjustment and it works enough to trim my yard, great tutorial, now I can just get new fuel / air filters and a new spark plug and I should be like new.

That tool to take the plug out is great. I used a pick to get it out yesterday 😂 took a while, basically broke it piece by piece. Eventually i was able to pull it
