Firstly, the craftmanship in the design of The Compton and The Wurlitzer organs is simply pure genius and it takes a true Master to give them the opportunity to really entertain. Phil Kelsall is just that. Truly brilliant, talented, with the ability to switch moods to any given number he gives us. Remarkable and gifted organist.
....and narration by Nigel Ogden. I was headphone GLUED on every single Wednesday on BBC Radio 2 for 'The Organist Entertains'. Can't mistake his voice ;-) That was always my 'private time'. The entire world stopped for me when this show aired.
I still miss it. I think 'From This Moment On' is underplayed. The thrill as it fired up at the start of the show. i was lucky enough to see Nigel in concert and he (obviously I guess) opened with it.
great to see phil and to hear him play , reminds me of years ago when they would have a section of playing in the tower and say this is not for dancing , miss being there , my good friend passed away few years ago she was wounderfull lady great enthusiasm for the wurlitzer and the electronic organ

I can't believe I forgot to tune in last night to watch the premier! But just now watched it all, what a fabulous concert, especially the Great American Songbook selection, my particular favourite kind of music. Thanks Phil and the Astoria team, it's sounding great. You're doing a great job, Chris and I are looking forward to a real visit when we can.
Phil, Fabulous, as always, but for the second time tonight on different organists, I am distracted by the hideous socks for some reason. Black or plain colours are best.
