    Whoever set up this transmission needs to get fired. Seriously, not only does it make the car sound a tad winter, but it also fucks up its performance.
    There’s something incredibly wrong for a turbo-charged car with this weight to only get to 100kmh after over 7 seconds(which even my 04 Accord V6 with 240hp, 5-speed trans. and way less torque could do).

      Big Chief it sure won't be the transmission or the engine. Mine had some leaks but it got fixed within the warranty at 99'900km. I have to say though that I drive it a little bit harder since I didn't pay anything for the car. But the transmission's made from zf and that's the same manufacture that delivers to porsche, bmw, jaguar and other brands. Won't expect many more problems from it. The car still drives as day one after 3years, and that's a good sign. Pretty sure that it will still be running good until 170'000km. But I wouldn't consider driving a range rover for more than 150thousand km 😂

      Söder Fråga yeah 421ps in the CLA45s and A45s AMG models. Well a gls with a 4pot would be hideous. Such a small engine can't pull a 2 ton car and even push it against those ridiculous aerodynamics of a tank, just does not work out. The evoque is quite at it's limits with a 2 litre and having the weight of around 1850kg, but anyways it's still a relatively compact car and it works out, probably not in fuel economy though.

    I have to say the new Evoque is likely the worst new car I’ve driven in a long time. I was shocked how horrible it was. The clunky 9-speed ZF transmission and terribly calibrated throttle mapping led to the car surging or feeling like it had no power. The brakes also felt oddly inconsistent. The 300HP engine felt like it was burdened by the Evoque’s porky weight. It never felt quick at all. JLR honestly just needs to license engines from BMW or Mercedes or VWAG. I have been super disappointed with every 4-cylinder JLR product I’ve driven. None of them sounded good whatsoever, felt quick or were as refined as other luxury 2.0T engines. The new 3.0L I-6 engine also seems to suffer from weird calibrations that make the engine feel like it has tons of lag. I don’t know how they managed to do that when it’s got an electric supercharger in addition to a turbocharger. BMW and Mercedes both have much better 3.0L I-6 engines. It’s disappointing because Jaguar used to produce some of the best I6 and V12 engines on the market. Now they just seem to be confused how to properly program the cars’ complex electrical architecture.

    • @fields1
      @fields1 Před 3 lety

      @@mydogsbestfren7490 the Evoque is a piece of shit. The transmission is horrendous. It weighs more than an F-Pace even though it’s much smaller, it’s still based on a Ford FWD platform that JLR has done little to improve, the engines are horrible. If that makes me “daft” so be it. The target audience is women who have no clue what a good car is. They want it because it’s “cute”. The Meridian sound system is trash compared to good stereos from other brands like H/K, Bowers and Wilkins, Burmester, Etc. I know because I had it in my own Land Rover product.
      If you think a 2 ton front wheel drive four cylinder vehicle drives better than an X5, you’re definitely the target buyer. Lol. That’s actually one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.
