We should call it Sydney Lunar New Year from now on haha because Sydney put on the show for us . Let enjoy it and admire the technology how lucky we can view the show either in Sydney Harbour or on the internet . Pp want to correct the name calling What for!! as a Vietnamese we always say Vietnamese New Year.❤❤❤

@@kholynguyen1042 Wrong, because this new year is from the Chinese calendar based on solar and lunar combined, not lunar alone, it is still Chinese New Year, not Lunar New Year.

Correction: It is Chinese New Year or Chinese Lunar New Year. The lunar calendar originates from China. Please respect the Chinese and do not misappropriate Chinese culture.

Problem with that is the Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, etc don't call themselves Chinese. Would you rather they didn't celebrate Lunar New Year to make it exclusive to Chinese only? Everyone knows it originated from China, just like paper. No one can claim that paper was invented in Australia. Btw, I'm an overseas Chinese.

@@s.vortex I am sure you are aware of antiChinese propaganda and geopolitical environment today. To omit the word 'Chinese' from Chinese New Year or Chinese Lunar New Year is done purposely to disassociate with Chinese and it's Chinese origins. There are also cultural thieves and racists like the SouthKoreans🐶 who intentionally and strongly proposed and conspired with the west to remove word 'Chinese' internationally. All those countries you mentioned are actually celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year due to the strong influence of Chinese culture since ancient times, although in recent years they don't want to admit it due to jealousy and racism. SK🐶 are even trying to steal it as theirs! We as Chinese must stand firm and educate those ignorant around the world the truth about this festival. If we keep quiet and accept not to mention Chinese anymore, ignorant people around world will not know it's Chinese except ourselves and also SK🐶 thieves will soon make the world believe that it is not Chinese anymore but theirs eventually over time. The racism is very subtle but the intention is very obvious. Chinese people must stand united and firm against such disrespectful, discriminatory, racist misappropriation of Chinese culture. Chinese people tend to be naturally very kind and nice that's why we were bullied in history be the west and Japanesebaztards for over 100 years and they are still trying to bully China and Chinese until today.

@@s.vortex Chinese culture and festivals are an important part of Chinese ethnicity. If you post on internet, then it must be acknowledged it is a Chinese festival and call it by it's proper and rightful name. This is just basic respect.
