  • Our resident crazy guy, Seaux LaRoue walks us through his experience at SERE school and gives you helpful tips on what to do and especially what not to do. Learn of his mistakes people!
Surviving SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) school involves staying mentally resilient, following instructions, mastering survival skills like shelter-building and fire-making, practicing evasion techniques, and understanding the importance of teamwork and adaptability in challenging situations.

I volunteered for SERE School in 1990 not long after I got to 5th Group. I was in phase 2 when Nick Rowe was killed, 18B. SERE was a good learning experience, but it wasn’t fun for sure.

@@frankjaeger3799 No, I never met Nick Rowe, he was in the Philippines, I believe, and was killed while there. At the time that he was killed I was in the middle of phase 2 back when the Q Course had 3 phases. One of the instructors came into the room and stopped the class for a moment to make the announcement.

I was a Navy Aircrewman on SAR Helos during Viet Nam before they had SERE. I finally went to SERE at Warner Springs after the war. We were sworn to secrecy about the school under threat of Court Martial. Why? Primarily because it undermined the training for those coming behind us. I am 78 now, having served thirty years and I STILL do not talk about SERE!!!! I am surprised and disappointed that you speak so freely about the best training many are fortunate enough to attend.

That’s a very important class during the pipeline that you must pay attention to highly there’s two seasons if you’re in the pipeline that you’re going on need to know about warm season I don’t say summer I don’t say spring. It’s just warm reason why because you have edibles to consume more opportunity to forge winter season is the worst Harley no edibles you will starve for a bit and the cold nights will affect you deeply at least in the warm season you just deal with the bugs, which are edible so if you’re in the pipeline, don’t take the cold weather season
