Madam, your students are very lucky we are also, your way of teaching excellent to watch your class without boring even if it's more than one hour, I thinking in classroom you are also teaching like in front of student so I am thinking sitting in class room not seeing grammar vedio. Hats up to you mam. Long live mam.
Ma'am I watch your videos many times, really helpful. I have a query "To get out " will be considered as verb or not while counting verbs to know the no. of clauses in a sentence ? Phrasal verbs are counted as verb but if it has "to " also then ? Will it becomes imposter verb ?

Thank you so much for creating such an engaging video on verbs. I had some doubts from Reported Speech and direct indirect speech. Please do clarify the following doubts: He said, "May my son succeed!". He ______ that his son _____ succeed. A) suggest, may B) offered, might C) prayed, may D) prayed, might Active: He can easily lift this heavy load. Passive: This heavy load _______ easily _______ by him. A) can be, lift B) could, lifts C) could be, lifted D) can be, lifted They say, "We are going to Agra the week after". They say that _______ to Agra the week after. A) we are going B) they were going C) they had gone D) they are going
For a verb to be transitive it must have a subject and an object (two separate nouns that can transit). Transitive verbs can be made passive. Normally, causatives like got are not transitve as their passive forms are weird.
excellent overview on verbs summarily in a very short time. dissecting sentences and thereby explaining other aspects like subject and predicate etc superbly. can a precedent to these video be made ma'am throwing some more light on basics. for e.g most are confused with verb "to be" and equate it with is, am, are etc. will be going thru this video again and again to grasp it very well as you said verb is a big topic. it was an innovative explanation
@@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher Thanksssss A Lot Ma'am..can't express my gratitude in words. i was waiting for this type of video. none but from you only. apart from 1st half 2nd half also helped in understanding the concept very well

Ma'am your video on tips for creative writing was amazing! Ma'am can you please make a video on how exactly should a creative writing class be conducted.
Hartford is one of those cities that __________ working hard to reclaim a riverfront. (is /are) kindly help me out with this -the answer is are. But I feel it should be is
This explanation is excellent but I have a doubt regarding the status Verbs being and possession. I could not understand how did they pass the qualification test. It cannot be used as TO AM, TO ARE etc. even with next two qualifiers how did they fit into these verbs. Please share some more details about it.
The verbs (am are etc) in the infinitive is 'to be'. From that is derived am, is, are, was, were, will be, being, been. If the verb is 'give' do you say oh we don't have to give, to gives, to will give? The infinitive form of all verbs is: to + verb. The tenses they make are not made into infinitives. Then they have the present and past participle forms. So you are confused. It happens. Keep watching.
Teacher I am confused about the tense used in the words "got married". Got is also a past participle and married is also a past participle.so it should be get marry
got married = past tense of verb 'to get' + past participle (married). You got married last year. People get married in summer. She will get married in Feb. So married remains as pp. The tense is held by the verb 'get'. 'Get married' is like 'get dressed' or 'get changed'. It is something you do to yourself or for yourself. Instead of 'get married' you can use the simple past 'married' without change in meaning.
Often there are these individuals who would come with a contradictory notion and confuse you about what you were, a while before, absolutely sure about. Ma'am, I would like you to give me some clarity about this, if possible. For a sentence, "Newton eats an apple," the subject is Newton (noun before the main verb). In the sentence, " an apple is eaten by Newton," however, what would be the subject? And how? My understanding tells me that Newton remains the subject in the latter, but according to this rule that I recently appropriated, of the subject (always) being the noun before the main verb, the apple - in case of the latter - becomes the subject. What's the confusion? And where exactly is the catch?
There is no confusion. The subject is the ruler of the verb. In your first sentence if I question the verb: Who eats? The asnwer is Newton (subject) In the second, if I question the verb ' is eaten' What is eaten? The answer is An apple (subject) So your subject answers the quesiton Who or what directly put to the verb. Note the difference between the verb 'eats' (active) and 'is eaten' (passive). They are not the same verb. Hence they cannot have the same subject. Subject as "doer" of the action is true for all active sentences. In passive, what is done is more important. Stop thinking of before and after the verb in terms of position. Function is all.
Present partciple is the -ing or -ed form of verbs. They can make the present continuous or past continuous tenses. But without helping verbs they are not verbs and become gerunds (nouns) or participles (adjectives)
Finites are verbs that can be conjugated, have an infinitive and a participle form. Infinites or non-finites are verbals (gerund participle infinitives). Modals cannot be conjugated hence they are not full finites. Some grammarians differentiate them from finites by calling them not finites. These are just labels. Concentrate on the function. More important.
All other verbs have more than one word in them. e.g. will go, had gone, will be going, might have gone etc. The first person singular (go), the third person singular (goes)the simple past tense (went) of all verbs are the only single word verbs. (Gone is a past participle and never comes alone - when it does it is a past participle adjective)

One question.
Can a causitive verb like ( got ) be used as transitive verb?
For a verb to be transitive it must have a subject and an object (two separate nouns that can transit). Transitive verbs can be made passive. Normally, causatives like got are not transitve as their passive forms are weird.

Hartford is one of those cities that __________ working hard to reclaim a riverfront. (is /are) kindly help me out with this -the answer is are. But I feel it should be is
You are right. Hartford is a single city not plural. The pronoun "one" indicates the singular.
This explanation is excellent but I have a doubt regarding the status Verbs being and possession. I could not understand how did they pass the qualification test.
It cannot be used as TO AM, TO ARE etc. even with next two qualifiers how did they fit into these verbs.
