- just a fun little experiment i did today, the instrumentation is pure Earthbound, however the arrangement was inspired by Mother 3 and "Battle against a weird opponent"

I feel like 13XP for guardian is a bit low, considering they'd be closer to late game enemies/early game bosses (like Starmen)

The funkier the song, the more dangerous the enemy
The guardian has a set number of turns before it fires its laser and deals massive damage, you have to reset it by using the ARROW item and targeting the head, or PK STASIS to stall it.
Or by timing a parry when the "!" appears. It has a strict timing of 5 frames though, so most of the time you'll want to kill it before it's able to fire the lazer
My guess is, guardians would be weak to PSI Starstorm/PK Ground. Starstorm because it’s an ancient technique and guardians take more damage from ancient things and ground to topple it over

i love this so much, because it encapsulates the "ohfuckofuckofuck" nature of the enemy, all while still being super enjoyable, catchy and perfectly fitting for the mother series! like, you can FEEL the power of the enemy resonating from the song alone!
I love how it still has the rolling HP counter even though it's hearts

I love how the siren-ish sound in the background makes it feel so dangerous without interrupting the actual melody. Watching the health bar slowly roll down would be even more stressful, but in a funky way

it's like the original track isn't the main focus, but instead the foundation that you expanded upon to make this
